>> reporter: police is saying this is still an ongoing investigatn eve though it looks like a murder suicide. moments ago four detectives from montgomery police just showed up walking the property line about the past 10 minutes inspecting e area of the garage and front of the house. earlier today, police told us they were called to this home two times yesterday. one of those times it was the murder victim who called herself just minutes before she was killed. police say the two deaths appear to be a murder suicide sparked by workplace dispute. carolyn mattingly, a well-known potomac realtor was found dead in her garage yesterday afternoon after a small fire was reported in her home. about an hour before the call for the fire came in. carolyn mattingly called police herself to report her car had been vandalized. >> when they arrived, they found a vehicle with four flat tires.

they spoke with the complainant, carolyn mattingly. we took the report and left. >> reporter: that was at 1:15. and then after that they got a car of a car off the road and found the body of andrew racca and a handgun and then they got another call, this time a fire at the home. that's when investigators called her husband and started piecing together what happened. >> they learned through carolyn mattingly's husband that he was at work and there was a dispute at work involving an employee there, andrew racca. >> reporter: richa mattingly is compreh exe vice president o the foundation where racca

of graham, along with volunteers. have gotten more than 3,000 tips from the public. investigators in lynchburg are looking to see if there was a possible ce jesse matthew and cassandra morton in 2009. he is not a person of interest at this ti but they do want to know if he was in the area when morton was killed. >> atm records or bank records or credit card statements to see did he use something that shows he was in lynchburg, virginia. >> detectives in newport news are looking into any possible connection between matthews and two won who disappeared in 2003. matthews was a student at newport university when they vanished a few months apart and we learned he left the school in the middle of a semester. the university isn't allowed to release details for the reason behind that because of privacy

laws. it's prachbt matthews has not been connected to the cases in lynchburg and newport news but they are looking at every possible link but the evidence does link matthews to morgan harrington in 2009 and 2005 sexual assault in fairfax. >> now, what appears to be a tragic accident involving teenagers. told a 13-year-old boy is dead and his best friend shot him. this happened inside an apartment complex in downing street northeast d.c. pat spoke with the victim's father live at the scene. what are you hearing? >> reporter: well, chris, they were good friends. everyday they played video games. last night it was gunplay and now one of them is dead. it happened last night but police still here today

lyvette. the mayor of a los angeles suburb is dead after being shot by his wife. police say daniel crespo's wife pulled out a gun and shot him after he punched their 19-year-old son in the face. lyvette crespo says her son was trying to intervene in a fight between the couple yesterday afternoon. the wife and son were questioned at the police station and released several hours later. >> why did she kill my brother? why did she do it? why couldn't she talk? tell me something or let me know something, you know. >> prosecutors will decide whether to press charges against crespo's wife. he was elected to the bell gardens city council in 2001 and became mayor last year.
