a developing story. some congressmen will meet in dallas to discuss the ebola concern. a field hearing will discuss coordination efforts to contain the outbreak. researchers from the university of maryland are leeing the the first trial of an ebola vaccine in mali. in liberia, six u.s. military planes are in the so-called hot zone to get marines and supplies to remote areas. a sheriff's deputy out of the hospital after testing negative for ebola. they complained of stomach pain and. so far he is the only person to be diagnosed with ebola in the u.s. he died on wednesday. the deputy did not have contact with duncan but did the see some of his family members. the man caused a scare when he said he had ebola. we'll have more on that in the next half hour on news 4 today. just in, we have learned who

will receive this year's nobel peace prize, malala. she is just 17 years old. this makes her the youngest person ever to receive the nobel peace prize. the committee saying it was for the teen's struggle against the oppression against young people, advocating for education. the committee went on to say children must go to school. she really got into the news after she was basically thrown up against the taliban restricting her from going to school and an assassination attempt against her, which she survived. she was grown to be quite the activist worldwide, trying to get more access to education for young people. we have learned she will receive the nobel peace prize. rich jordan, thank you.

the flu is back. the state of maryland officially announced the first virus late last night. it was diagnosed in an adult on the eastern shore. that person has been treated and released from the hospital. last year the first case of the flu was diagnosed approximate the same time, october 3rd. health officials reminding people to get the flu shot, maintain good hygiene, and stay home from work or school if you believe you are infected. the "washington post" reports there are more than 1700 undocumented immigrants living in the area. fairfax county is paying more than $14,000 to educate refugees. they have had no problems accommodating the children in loud on county. limiting your freedom in the skies. the legal fight in the day ahead that could force you once again to turn off your electronics during takeoff and landing. tracking a line of showers

hundreds gathered for protests in st. louis for a second night over the shooting of app 18-year-old by an off-duty police officer. police say before myers was shot, he fired three shots at the officer. the officer fired pack 17 rounds. investigators are working to determine whether the officer's behavior was appropriate. now, this protest comes two months after police in ferguson, missouri shot and killed 18-year-old michael brown. today a group will kick off a weekend of resistance demonstration there. the protest begins with a march to the office of the prosecutor. that's where the group will demand that officer darren wilson be charged. there will be a special ceremony, followed by candlelight march to the ferguson police station. and reminding students to think smart when they are taking shortcuts around campus. this comes after 10 students were robbed at gun point by two men. the group was approached in a wooded area off taylor street northeast. the students said one man had a

gun. he demanded iphones, backpacks and credit cards. the students handed over their belongings and the robbers took off. nobody was hurt. the faa changed regulations without taking steps required by law. they say expanding the use of personal devices can distract passengers from safety information and become dangerous projectiles. u.s. officials are calling on turkey to take a more active role to target isis. chuck hagel said he would like the u.s. to access an air base in turkey. hagel wants turkey to help to train moderate syrian forces >> another warning about a possible isis attack possibly on canadian soil after chatter picked up online.

it's been seven months since rudd went missing. the community partnership for homelessness held a gala. last night the community partnership for the prevention of homelessness hold its 25th anniversary gala. some of last night's invitees called asking why they are having an expensive celebration when the shelter is facing so much criticism. some people at the shelter agreed. >> it kind of makes me angry to hear they are celebrating. why are you celebrating and a girl was missing from here? >> the executive director of the partnership would not comment. council men graham said he didn't have a problem with the gala but is concerned about the way the shelter is being run. she worked for melanoma research alliance and found guilty of stealing more than $25,000 from the company and its donors. carter will have to pay all that
