bad crash in oxen hill. take a look at the aftermath. the cars were totaled. this happened around 10:00 last night on livingston road and livingston terrace. one of the cars were on fire when investigators arrived. we're still working to find out what caused the accident. eight people were involved in the crash, three of them in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. >> the heart broken mother of a 9-year-old boy shot in the head. she wants answers and wants the violence to stop. jaden stansel was not the intended target but instead was caught in crossfire. police tell us some men drove to the mansion apartments on hayes street. this happened a week ago. gunfire was exchanged hitting two men and little jaden near the playground. his mother spoke at a prayer vigil last night. >> it's very hard for me because my son is somewhat in critical condition, trying to get through this. so they are shooting at each

other, but neither one of them are in a hospital bed. my son is the only one in a hospital bed. >> investigators say the two men who were also shot were not seriously hurt. they haven't told us that those men are victims or suspects. new this morning, the violence has calmed down in missouri, but protesters are still taking over streets and voicing outrage at police. in st. louis, protesters walking down main street, calling this a weekend of resistance, two months after michael brown was shot and killed by a white police officer. miles away, an off-duty white police officer shot a black teenager after the officer says he was shot at several times. in brown's hometown of ferguson, protesters marched and held a candle vigil out the police station, demanding that the officer who shot brown be charged. alexandria church will hold a community forum about what is

going on in ferguson at the alfred street baptist church on old town on south alfred street. today's meeting will address the relationship between the black community and police in alexandria. >> happening today, family and friends will hold a vigil in hopes of solving a double murder. both found dead near the benning stoddard in 1994. today's vigil is in hanover, maryland, at the dorchester community center. $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case. if you can help, call d.c. police. travelers arriving from several west african countries will face more scrutiny here in theu. they'll be screened and have their temperatures checked. the measures are aimed at identifying sick passengers from countries where the ebola

in decision 2014, this is a busy weekend for the candidates with the election less than a month away. independent candidate for d.c. mayor david catania will head on over to columbia heights day and meet with potential voters at 11:00 this morning. democratic candidate muriel bowser will stop by columbia heights day. earlier this week, president obama endorsed bowser for d.c.

mayor. this is a close race in the district. a poll found bowser's lead over catania is down to a single digit. >> mark warner is accused of trying to bribe a former state senator. according to the washington post, warner discussed the possibility of several jobs for former senator puckett's daughter, allegedly hoping it would keep him from giving up his state seat. puckett did resign prt state senate in june, tipping the favorability into republican. warner did not make a specific job offer. a federal judge declared the state's gay marriage ban unconstitutional yesterday. two sheriff's deputies were the first to marry. the supreme court turned down

now. jesse matthew has opinion charged with her abduction. police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man in a barber shop in d.c. they believe he put on a ski mask before entering kutt-n-up barber shop, walked up to one of the customers and fired several shots. people are hoping someone may have seen the shooter before he put on the mask. if you have any information, call d.c. police. soon you can conceal a hand dpun and carry it as long as you have a permit. mayor vincent gray signed emergency legislation that will take effect in three months. you'll have to wait another 10 to 12 days before applications will be accepted. the new law requires you to give a reason on why you need to carry a concealed handgun. the legislation was passed after a federal court struck down the law that banned carrying gun outside your home. gun advocates say the plan is

still too restrictive and plan to take it back to court. one man's recovery from a motorcycle crash that changed his life. it's been an uphill climb physically and emotionally. he has a message for drivers and bikers about sharing the road. darcy spencer has his story. carlos vinnie dealavara is learning to walk again. his legs and hips were broken. he takes physical therapy every day, trying to regain use of his arm, which has muscle and nerve damage. >> come on. come on. come on. >> he was involved in a motorcycle crash on the fourth of july in montgomery county. it was about 6:30 in the evening. he just left a family barbecue and was driving to his home in laurel. >> i feel like i've been in a movie. a lot of things seem surreal. >> the injuries are not the worst of what happened that day. his long time girlfriend was riding on the motorcycle with

data may have been breached. the chain owned by sears says it noticed the breach on thursday and quickly moved to limit the damage. now, kmart was able to remove malware from its computer system but the chain believes some debit and credit card numbers may have been compromised. the company says the breach began in september. and there have been several data breaches this year. just yesterday, we told you about dairy queen. five locations, including three in charles county, maryland, one in fairfax county and one in loudoun county were affected. dairy queen says its payment systems were infected with the so-called backoff malware in august and september. swrchlt p morgan chase and home depot reported data breaches. target reported a data breach last year. when it comes to getting hired after college, what majors should your kids be looking into? according to more than 115 u.s. employers, business majors have the best chance of getting hired post-graduate wags. second year in a row business
