270 into and out of town, ase approach the 4:30 hour. no problems inner loop, outer loop. we are moving along. and a wide look at 66. developing now on the ebola crisis in the u.s., the second dallas nurse is waking up in atlanta. the cdc is trying to contact passengers vincent shared a flight with from cleveland to dallas. the nurse called the cdc to report that she had a 99.5 fever. she was cleared since it was below 100.5 that the cdc indicated. new fallout after learning that the second nurse was on a frontier airlines flight earlier this week. aaron and eun, good morning. that plane involved in that

flight has now been pulled. more about that in a second. first, let's go over the flight information from monday night flight 1143 going from cleveland to dallas. it arrived in dallas just after 7:00 monday night. so that plane used for this flight is now in denver. it is going through specialized cleaning there. it has been cleaned three times. it will be cleaned for a fourth time. it will be parked in the hangar until it can be scrubbed formally. the pilots are on paid leave simply as a precaution. we are hearing from the cleveland clinic and the metrohealth system. they had several of their nurses on that flight. they were returning from a nursing conference. the nurse are also on paid leave. this, again, is just as a precaution. the hospitals don't believe

there is a high risk that the newers may have contracted ebola since amber vincent, the nurse in dallas, was not showing symptoms at the time, at least not significant symptoms. only slight systems. they do not believe she was contagious. richard jordan, thank you, richard. screenings begin at dulles airport. the affected countries of liberia, new guinea and sierra leone. they will have their temperatures taken and be observed for other symptoms. they will decide whether the person can continue to travel or be taken to a hospital for treatment. reston hospital center is one of three facilities where sick travelers will be taken once their patients will be isolated. protocol calls for staff to wear protective clothing when treating a potential ebola patient. and we have all of this information posted on our website at nbcwashington.com. just search "ebola crisis ".

a respected d.c. rabbi may have taped hundreds of women changing at a georgetown synagogue. he was heckled by his only congregation yesterday. he used a camera disguised as an alarm clock to tape women change. we talked to one women who said she was told not to block that clock. >> i remember vividly him saying don't put anything on the counter. >> he pleaded not guilty. his passport was confiscated. they tried to have him fitted for a gps tracker but so far that has not happened. testimony could move a bit faster in the oscar pistorius sentencing hearing.

they will unveil the new ipad plus at an event today. it will have a larger 13-inch high resolution screen. production is being delayed until next year because they are having trouble keeping up with the demand of iphone 6. they mistakenly released it in a user guide yesterday. it has since been remove. probably looks a lot like the old ipad. today is the 7th annual great shakeup. many will practice earthquake drills, including many at your children's schools. you should drop to the ground, take cover and hold on if you are ever in an earthquake. we will learn how our area is recovering from the last big earthquake here in 2011. you remember that quake. it damaged the washington monument. it was covered in scaffolding before it was fixed. crews are working on the national cathedral. representatives will talk about the repairs to the cathedral,

i'm richard jordan at the live desk. we are watching the sentencing phase of the oscar pistorius trial happening in south africa. live pictures from inside the courtroom. the sentence is not expected to come down today. it could possibly come down as soon as tomorrow. we heard some emotional testimony from kim martins, reeva steenkamp's cousin. steenkamp the former girlfriend of oscar pistorius who was shot to death inside his home. this may be the only opportunity we hear from a family member

pause steenkamp's parents will not be testifying. the cousin described how she heard the news on the radio and talked about how deeply hurt the family is and how she felt pistorius's apology during court earlier was not sincere. we are hearing from a corrections officer saying mi pistorius would be sa and accommodations would be made. today is the judge's birthday and there was clapping inhe courtroom cgru her. hundreds of virginia state workers will lose their jobs to close a $2 billion budget shortfall. 565 employees will be laid off mostly at the department of correction the governor plans to raise

targeting that group and other vulnerable adults. montgomery county officials will announce the push later this afternoon. today we will lear the findings of an investigation on the health and safety of animals in local pet shops. the county council is looking at how pets are sold to the stores and how many stores buy at one time. the county memo obtainjeccounty. in the case of a student who chewed his breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun may wind up at the maryland board of education. the boy's family received a decision from the anne arundel board of association. the board cited with the staff at park elementary school. the board said the school had the right to suspend the 7-year-old after the incident last year. the family is now appealing to the state board to get their son is's record wiped clean.

welcome back. more and more students are going to prince george ises county schools. 128,000 children are in the school system.

more than 2,700 students more than the year before. that is according to the "washington post", which cited preliminary numbers. before last year, the county lost students. the numbers reflect more confidence in the public school system. official totals are expected to come out next month. and to go along with the new enrollment, a new elementary school opens today. construction is complete on edward m. elementary off route 410 in hyattsville. they will hold a ribbon cutting there this morning. the school is environmentally certified and named after a former superintendent. we'll get an idea what the first elevated park will look like. oma were chosen to design the park that will go over the anacostia river. it will be built on the old 11 street bridge. the park will be up to 1,000
