quantico. melissa, thank you. 6:02. the texas hospital where two nurses contracted ebola is fighting claims about a lack of safety protocols. texas health presbyterian followed the guidelines when thomas eric duncan was admitted. one of the nurses amber vincent was transferred to atlanta and is being treated at emory university hospital. plus, we know the cdc did not stop vincent from flying even though she alerted them she had a fever days before she was diagnosed. the frontier airlines plane at the center of that incident is out of service this morning. it is now parked inside a hangar in denver to be decontaminated for a fourth time. as a precaution, the entire crew was placed on paid leave for 21 days. three area hospitals did the same thing for two dozen nurses who were on that plane. two cleveland area schools also closed today. a school staff member was on the

death ruined the family and pistorius must pay for what he did. steenkamp's parents will not be testifying. so this may have been the only opportunity to hear from her relatives. there was also a corrections officer testify about the conditions inside the prison saying pistorius would serve time behind bars and would likely be kept in a hospital section and there would be accommodations for the double amputee, likely keeping him inside that hospital section and providing him with some other benefits that could help. things like railing in a shower, those kind of accommodations. we're waiting for that sentence again to possibly come down tomorrow. that's the latest from the live desk. thank you, richard. 6:17. a new ride for secretary of state john kerry back to d.c. he is flying on a commercial flight from vien ta. he was talking about iran's nuclear program. we're told the 757 is having mechanical problems. we don't know exactly what

happened, though. this is the fourth type this year kerry's plane has broken down. hundreds of virginia state workers will lose their jobs as governor mcauliffe aims to close a $2 billion budget shortfall. he plans to lay a off 565 employees, most of the workers in the department of corrections. leaders previously agreed to cut $45 million from higher education and $30 million given to local governments. the governor also plans to sell a state police airplane. and the budget shortfall could also affect you when you want to have a drink. the governor has ordered the department of alcoholic beverage control to hike the the cost of liquor at state-controlled stores. that could affect restaurants that serve alcohol as well. they would end up passing the cost along to you. the agency has not yet decided how or when it will raise prices. . we know how much money one candidate in our area raised in his campaign. according to the "washington post", democratic senator mark warner has $8 million he can spend in the last few weeks

dulles with more. megan, good morning >> reporter: wello morning. we are starting to see signs of concern among travelers. take a look at this video inside dulles terminal here. a man hopping a plane headed to dubai is wearing a surgical mask inside the terminal. he wouldn't talk to us on camera. i did approach him, had a conversation off camera. he said, yes, he is wearing that because he is concerned about being exposed to ebola as he travels here. advanced screening gets under way in dallas. still pictures was shot at jfk in new york where screens began last weekend. a similar situation will be happening in our area travelers from liberia, sierra leone and new guinea. they will have their

temperatures taken with a touch-free thermometer. if there are red flags, they will go over to the cdc. people on site will further assess the situation. the cdc will make the decision whether that person can continue to travel or whether they need to go to an area hospital for further evaluation or treatment. we have been watching things in the terminal. there are no flights on board that are from the three cups affected. 14 before the hour now. frontier airlines at the center of this latest incident is out of service this morning. the latest ebola incident is now parked inside a hangar. frontier placed the entire crew on paid leave for 21 days. they did the same thing for two dozen nurses on board.
