ebola czar. ron klain will hold that position. so as the ebola czar, he will help to coordinate the federal response in the u.s. to these ebola cases. he'll likely be dealing with a lot critic to hospitals. also this talk among lawmaker, about a travel ban in west africa. he has not worked in the health care industry but he does have a lot of administrative experience and the administration says that that is what this position will entail. th the latest from the live desk. we continue with the ebola crisis. cases in the u.s., including one victim now moved to our region. the latest nur d with ebola is now at emory hospital in atlanta. the family of amber vinson says she's in stable condition. vinson treated thomas duncan, the ebola patient who died.

the first nurse to get ebola in dallas is now in bethesda. doctors are treating her at the national institutes of health. news 4's megan mcgrath joins us live. a news conference just wrapped up econdition. >> we got that update on nina's condition here at nih. they say she is in fair condition, that she is stable. that her condition has not deteriorated at and they're pleased with the progress they're seeing. although certainly this is just the very beginning her treatment here. they say she had a long trip from dallas and she's tired, which of course is understandab. asked if this was something that she would be able to survive, dr. anthony fauci said this. >> we fully intend to have this patient walk out of this hospital. we'll do everything we possib can to make that happen. she's resting comfortably. she's interactive with the staff. she's eating.

she's able to interact freely and really think she's doing quite well. >> nina is in a special isolation unit here at nih. the staff, the doctors, the nurses, they're working two 12-hour shifts to care for her. she's resting in a room actually in the building that you see behind me. this building is open for business. workers are going in and out. people are coming for appointmen as they normally do. you would have no idea an ebola patient is being treated here. at nih, there is no evidence that anything unusual is happening. in fact, some workers entering the building seemed more interested in e large media presence outsid than the ebola patience inside. nina, the first of two nurses diagnosed with ebola, arrived by charter plane. she and her caregivers wore protective suits. pham walked down the steps of

the plane holding the arm of an escort but otherwise she moved under her own steam and got into a waiting ambulance. also encouraging, this video taken by workers at texas presbyteri hospita before pham was transported to nih. she is sitting up, talking with her colleagues. she says they should come to maryland with her. >> party, party in maryland? >> party in maryland. >> reporte pham is at the specl studies unit at nih. with its strict isolation protocols, the unit and its staff are equipped to deal with infectious diseases like ebola. and during the briefing, dr. davey said patients here call this hospital the health of hope. and they certainly are hoping for the best possible outcome for nina pham. reporting li at nih. back to you. >> staying vigilant in the fight

federal will start to recognize same sex couples in seven states, including virginia, also colorado, indiana, nevada, oklahoma, utah and wisconsin. now this comes after the supreme court refused to hear appeals from those states. so holder saying that marriage equality will be the law in these states. he has instructed the department of justice to extend federal benefits to those same sex couples married in those states to the fullest extent of the law. e district now recognize same-sex marriage. right now, a man in prince georges county is waiting to be sentenced for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl. he pleaded guilty to multiple offenses a 2012, he lured the g her father. surveillance shows h s him lead her away. he assaulted her in a park. today marks five years since

today, president obama is expected to announce new security issues for government issued debit cards. after several high-profile data breaches. e governments expected to start using debit cards that have an internal chip which makes them less vulnerable to fraud. the cards are used to distribute federal benefits including social secy and u.s. bankings are taking similar measures. th will issue more than 500 million credit and debit cards with chips by the end of next year. the man accused of jumping

have you seen the news about barbara comstock? first, the washington post reported, barbara comstock failed to report eighty-five thousand in income. now, we learn, barbara comstock pushed a client's issues in the virginia legislature and didn't disclose it. barbara comstock shepherded a trio of bills through the legislature and into law, but barbara comstock never officially disclosed that all the while she was being paid thousands of dollars. no wonder she hid it. right now, hundreds of people are taking advantage of the new springfield town center. take a look at the huge lines to get into the mall from chopper 4

reporter d colber will have that coming up on news 4 at 5:00 > news 4 richard jordan is following a developing story in south korea from the live desk. >> 16 people are dead and 11 others hurt at a concert. they were standing on a ventilation grate when that grate gave way and they fell down the shaft. it was about a 50 foot fall there. the group that they were watching is a girls band called four minute. very popular across asia. about 700 people in that crowd to watch that band. many of them didn't even realize what happened. there was this group standing there on top of the ventilation grate. the grate gave way. some are blaming poor safety regulations in south korea for this issue. again, 16 people killed here, 11 others injured. that's the latest from the live desk. barbara, back to you. new this morning, we learned maureen mcdonald will get an extra month before he faces her corruption sentence. she and former governor mcdonnell were supposed to be sentence together in january.

her lawyers asked for a new date and the judge agreed. the mcdonnells were found guilty of corruption last month. we're learning more about how they're paying for the trial. the new tax records show bob mcdonnell's legal fund received $78,000 between july and september. that adds up to more than $300,000 since it was opened last year. however, supporters believe the couple's legal fees are even higher than that. more now on breaking news. president oba appointing an ebola czar. we're joined by mark mus senior. his name is mark klain. e in do we know about him washin politics. former adviser to president a and former chief of staff to j biden as vice president. longtime democratic operative. was a key figure on al gore's presidenti campaign in 2000. in fact, kevin spacey played the

right now, hurricane gonzalo is roaring towards bermuda. the category 3 hurricane should reach early this afternoon. people have been bracing for this hurricane. boarding up windows and doors. there's still some 1,500 homes

without power from tropical storm fay. storm team 4 meteorologist amelia seg is tracking gonzalo. what's the latest? is it very close? >> yes, as we continue tok our way th week conditions wil worsen in bermuda. a more northern andf bermuda. you can see there, a stiff breeze and small white capped waves. like i said, as we work our way throughout the day. it's only going to get worse. the winds will pick up as the storms continue to bear down on bermuda. it downgraded from a category 4 to now a category 3. but still a powerful storm. maximum sustained winds at 125 mys an hour. it's moving north-northeast at 16 miles per hour. the worse conditions anticipated bermuda during the late afternoon and evening hours. by tomorrow, you can see, it's quickly moving towards the north and east.

threw up. the bus was able to leave the pentagon and got here but by the time it got here, health officials had this bus detained. what i can tell you, i was just about the first person on the scene here after first responders. actually thought was on the bus as well and tried to quarantine me. what we can tell you is that about 12 people, passengers, and the driver, were taken off that white tour bus and they've been isolated on a second bus that has dark windows. we can see in. we don't know what's going on. there are federal officials f health.icials from the d.c. d.c. fire's been on the scene and d.c. police are on the scene. they've closed off virginia avenue. to give you an idea where we are. we're about a block away from the marine barracks. and up above us is the southeast-sot freeway. 12 people and the driver of this tour bus have been isolated after a person on that bus became ill and threw up at the pentagon. officials aret telling us what's going on here or what the is.tus of the people inside the
