tv during the 9:00 hour, send me a note @chuckbell4, who's playing, where and when they're playing. hannah graham is coming home. tragically, not in the way her parents, john and sue, had hoped. police confirmed yesterday the remains found in southern albemarle county did, in fact, belong to hannah. you can see the roadblock and crime scene tape is gone at the abdomened property where hannah was found now back open. she disappeared six weeks ago today. what the last month and a half has been like for the graham family in their own words. the last images we have of hannah are from the early morning hours of september 13th, cameras throughout charlottesville mapping her last steps. she ended up on the popular downtown mall. jesse matthew was spotted with her on camera and then she vanished. before king the remains found last saturday belonged to hannah, her parents walked the

abandoned property for half an hour friday. then they shared these words with us. when we started this journey together, we all hoped for a happier ending. >> all we want to do now is to bring hannah home safely. >> sadly, that was not to be. but due to the tenacity and determination of chief longo -- >> first and foremost, to find their daughter and, by the grace of god, return her safely to their care. >> hannah is coming home to us and we will be eternally grateful to him for this. >> that flashlight is in that backpack. >> the search for hannah would not have been successful were it not for the many, many people who helped. >> you make things good, hannah graham. where are you? we want you back where you belong. >> search teams from the chesapeake county sheriff's department was searching an abandoned property in southern albemarle county when they discovered what appears to be human remains.

>> although we have lost our precious hannah, the light she radiated can never be extinguished. we will hold it in our hearts forever and it will help sustain us as we face a painful future without her. fairfax county is also mourning her loss in the ft. hunt neighborhood where she grew up. yellow ribbons decorate trees and local shopping center, sign of hope for a different outcome. graham went to west potomac high school where she was a good student and played softball. >> i play softball. the people i play with played with her when they were growing up. they're definitely dealing with it. it's hard to see them hurting. >> we've had vigils at churches, praying for her. and all of us have just been thinking about the family. >> hannah graham was in her second year at the university of virginia in charlottesville. the school's president, theresa sullivan, released a statement yesterday saying hannah brought immense energy and delight to her learning. she was a source of friendship

that they believe kidnapped rudd seven months ago. developing story in washington state. three high school students in critical condition this morning after a homecoming prince walked into a school cafeteria and just started shooting in marysville, washington, north of seattle. jaylen fryberg shot students and then turned the gun on himself. he was described as a popular freshman football player who recently had a fight with a girl. police are still working to identify a motive. the school will be closed all of next week. right now, the response to ebola is growing in new york and new jersey. the state's governors announced anyone who may have come into contact with the virus must be quarantined for 21 days. also, the first woman under that quarantine has developed a fever. she was treating ebola patients in west africa and had no symptoms when she arrived to the

u.s. yesterday. new york's first patient, dr. craig spencer, is in relatively stable condition, we're told, according to his doctor. we don't know just how bad of a condition he is in right now but doctors say they don't expect it to get any worse. here in the district, firefighters will hold drills to test their response to ebola. the right protocol helps to prevent the spread of the disease and keep you safe. it's part of the regular firefighter training. it starts at 8:00 this morning. you're going to hit road closures if you drive downtown today. registration for the walk to end hiv begins less than an hour from now. >> it begins at freedom plaza, will close pennsylvania avenue and roads around the national mall. nbc 4 will be there. news 4 today anchors anna

a self radicalized muslim convert who ranted online against america. he was inspired by terrorist groups online including isis. he looked at different acts of violence online, including beheadings. thursday, thompson charged at four rookie police officers with a hatchet. one officer was hit in the head and is in the hospital. thompson was killed by police. if you visit the white house today, you're going to seeom se second fence outside the lawn actually farther away. even if you haven't been there, we've shown it to you before. take a look at the video here. the fence is about the height of a bike rack. it was added last month after the secret service says a jumper made it inside the white house. another man jumped both fences this week. the body of a soldier killed at the national war memorial in canada arrived home yesterday only hours ago, standing guard

concern, hope and love. >> the other nurse infected with ebola, this woman, amber vinson, is making progress in her treatment. that's according to emory university hospital in atlanta. the hospital says she no longer has the virus in her blood. however, it says, she cannot be discharged just yet. >> developing a test for ebola right now. when the test is finalized all it will take is a swab of your skin to tell whether or not you have the virus. the company is called path sensors and hopes to have the ebola test finished by early next year. >> you might want to share with people you know, next time you receive an e-mail about ebola, just be careful. according to the freelance star, it could be a scam. newspaper says hackers are sending e-mails with lines like secret cure for ebola and ebola survival guide. however once you open them up, there's a virus attached.

slsberg. six people trapped in a open container. the angle was too steep for the people inside to climb out. an urban rescue team was called in. fortunately everyone was given the okay. a man charged with intentionally infecting women with hiv is facing new charges today. montgomery county police say a second woman now claims she had sex with this man. he did not tell her he had the disease. he is from richmond, facing nine counts of knowingly exposing someone to hiv. >> we're hearing from the wife of one of the men who died in the midair crash in maryland this week. christopher parsons of westminster, maryland, was on that helicopter that collided two other people died.ick.

waiting. runners from around the world are descending on our area for the marine corps marathon. >> mark seagraves introduces us to a couple first-time marathoners running for a good reason. >> i'm going to run for love. >> reporter: amanda is talking about her boyfriend, tom love, who lost his legs and arm in afghanistan. she's running for him. >> i'm going to take my steps for todd on sunday and in honor of all of his recon brother whose kept him alive that day. >> reporter: and this wounded warrior is running with his service dog sarge in the very first dog run. >> absolutely phenomenal team. >> reporter: he said sarge saved his life. >> between all the medications that i was on and not knowing how to express any love or how to be just a good friend, good father and a good husband, now i'm able to do that. >> reporter: medal of honor recipient kyle carpenter, who fell on a grenade to save his partner is also running.
