a special honor for hannah graham for homecoming. good evening. i am chris lawrence. someone started shooting near a crowded mall in hyattsville. two teenagers are among the wounded. a man opened fire not far from the mall. derek are police still looking for the shooter? >> reporter: indeed they are. they are working on a description of the shotter. let me set the scene. this happened at the university town center just off of east-west highway. police say it was about 8:30 when three people were hit by gunfire. not life threatening injuries. a 0-year-old, 18-year-old and

16-year-old that were hit. it started with some sort of altercation that ended in gunfire. >> the shooter went to his car to retrieve a weapon. he opened fire as the crowd was leaving. three people were hit in the leg. >> there is a bunch of girls over here playing, getting food. a bunch of guys arguing. the girls started walking away, started shooting and dispersing. >> this is a restaurant on the corner that is now closed. apparently that was the center of the activity. they have a sketchy description of the suspect. male, 6 feet, 91 pounds. red plaid shirt, shoulder length dreadlocks and blue jeans. might have been driving a toyota

four-door vehicle. one person is out of the hospital. police are talking to that person. the scene is clear here and things are back to normal at the university town center in my yatsville where we are live in a matter of hours runners will start lining up for the marine corps marathon. it starts in arlington. it requires a lot of rest and fuel. earlier some of the runners got a carb loading dinner. >> hopefully that will get us through. >> it's fun to get together with the athletes and get a bond. >> if you are planning to watch the marathon in person, be on the look-out for rolling road

school freshman who shot five people in a school. they say jaylen fryberg killed himself after shooting others. tonight family members confirmed that two of the teenagers are related to fryberg. he may have been upset about a romantic relationship, but relatives are struggling to understand what could have prompted this. >> they are good boys. as well as the shooter, they are three complete buddies. they couldn't be closer than three brothers. >> two of the victims were shot in the head and in critical condition. police recovered the gun they think fryberg used still ahead, the hero dogs and what it took for them to return to duty.

we are tracking the latest developments in the fight to prevent the spread of ebola. they have announced a 21 day quarantine. a nurse feels like a criminal. crews spent the whole day m hazmat gear decontaminating the home of a local doctor with ebola. and a demonstration of how they would traps forth a person with ebola.

forecast. 80 degrees for the early part of the week. next weekend temperatures drop into the 60s and 50s. as far as trick-or-treating is concerned, the weather looking mainly dry. temperatures are coming in in the 50s and 60s. not tracking any rain in the area but a weak cold front is going to move through the area overnight. it's not bringing rain with it but gusty northwest wind throughout the day tomorrow. that's why temperatures will be a bit cooler today. washington a high of 68. in annapolis, a high temperature of 64. we are looking at wall-to-wall sunshine. tomorrow if you are looking for something to do, inside of the car you won't the winds.
