abandoned airplane hangar 35 miles from the spot he is said to have killed a state trooper last month. >> pennsylvania governor will speak for the first time since his capture. there was no shortage of law enforcement when he was brought in in handcuffs just a short time ago. it was back on september 12th when police say frein opened fire on two pennsylvania state troopers outside a police barack, one trooper died, another seriously hurt. >> investigators say that the shooting was deliberate and calculated. they describe frein as a survivalist. since that shooting, troopers have been searching miles of wooded terrain. some of the people in several small towns there terrified of it all. >> police sources say federal agents were staegs is -- stationed near the hangar where he was hanging out. he had two guns with him at the time. in a symbolic move, police eventually handcuffed frein with

the cuffs of the trooper he was accused of killing. we are morning the news conference in pennsylvania right now which is supposed to begin any minute now. stay tuned for any new developments that come this half hour. we'll share them w >>. also new tonight, an eight-year-old child safe at home after two people tried to abduct him this morning. little boy told investigators was talking to his bus stop on brinkley road when a car stopped in front of him. a man got out and pointed a gun at him, then a woman in the passenger seat told him to get in the car. the boy instead ran and reported the incident when he got to school. police have only a vague description of the suspects and their car. also new tonight a local mother pushing for new leads in the search for her son's killer. it was last halloween when joseph folks was shot and killed in northwest d.c. our reporter explains what his family and detectives are doing one year later. >> reporter: this is a very tough time for this young man's

mother. she demands to know who killed her son and why. >> it's been hard for me in the last couple of days. >> reporter: she is still mourning the murder of her son. he was shot and killed in halloween night in northwest d.c. a year ago. >> you know, my son left here and it's just a shame that the murders happened, you know, and things just don't happen where like it happens on tv, where they figure out a murder. >> reporter: friends told me joseph was a hard working manager at the columbia heights i hop restaurant. his favorite food wasn't pan cakes. his mom says it was pizza. >> he wanted a slice and went over there at 11:00. the lady said the truck didn't come to 1:00. that was the day that somebody decided he shouldn't be anymore. >>. >> reporter: we walk with a friend to get a slice. investigators say p someone shot and killed him on the 400 block of shepherd street northwest,

just two and a half blocks away from the d.c. police station. 2:20 in the morning. >> i'm more missing him at this point. >> reporter: while d.c. police continue to investigate, she has faith that they will get the tip they need to make an arrest. >> it could be somebody else's son, and i know it doesn't make any sense -- i have to go through what i have to go through. another mother doesn't have to. >> reporter: d.c. police are offering a reward up to $25,000 for information that could lead to an arrest and conviction in this case. as for the family of joseph folks, well, they are going to have a memorial service for him on saturday here on the 400 block of shepherd street northwest. in northwest d.c. a hazmat team was forced to respond to a local shopping mall as a woman yelled she had ebola when police were trying to arrest her. hazmat teams were called in as a

precaution and the woman has no symptoms. it's not clear why she was being served the original warrant or if she will face more charges. tonight nurses all offer the country are at the center of the fight against ebola. in about two weeks, nurses at providence hospital in northeast d.c. will be among thousands all over the nation who will go out on a picket line. it's all part of a national movement calling for safer standards for nurses and for doctors. the hospital says it hopes to avoid that strike but it will stay open if it happens. she is defying the government and the govern of maine says negotiations have broken down with a new england nurse who may have been exposed to ebola. he says that if kaci hick co-x doesn't state confined no her home for the 21-day incubation period, he's ready to use the full extent of his office to protect the public.

thing might happen. >> a judge is expected to decide soon whether to drop those charges. a 7 eleven is taking mini mart in baltimore to court. they are claiming trademark end fringement. a spokes woman for 7 eleven tells news 4 the company has an obligation to pr brand. it's challenging operators of a shop on north utah street in baltimore. it's called 7-even. the suit says 7-even is using the same lettering and logo barney as 7-eleven and the store is selling slurpies. efforts to reach folks at 7-even were unsuccessful tonight. when we could get answers about a deadly midair collision. we'll have a report if the

city legalizes marijuana. city legalizes marijuana. now, one local woman she did as a legislator, doors, hoping yobarbara comstocke. pushed bills benefiting her special interest client, then failed to disclose she was paid thousands by that same client, failed to disclose 85,000 in extra compensation. the washington post called comstock's behavior "an apparent breach of congressional ethics." we just can't trust barbara comstock. patriot majority usa is responsible for the content of this advertising.

tonight, helicopters are back over the skies of fredric municipal airport exactlily one week after a deadly midair collision there. last thursday a small plane and helicopter crashed into each other, killing three people. the helicopter that was involved was part of a flight school that call off all classes until today. its staff members say they have talk to grief counsellors, the national transportation safety board could have a preliminary report on the crash as soon as

tomorrow. if d.c. voters legalize marijuana next week, the city stands to make a nice piece of money from taxes and fees. finance officials estimate that legal sales could bring in $130 million a year. that would likely add up to $20 million a year or more from taxes. if it is approved, it could take until 2016 to see stores open. congress would have to review the bill until next spring and then d.c. officials would take another six months to write regulations. a local woman is turning her painful battle with breast cancer into something positive, something she hopes em pours n . >> the idea for the brags bra was born out of sore rebut also out of hope. hope that a local woman and her sister could help others, others just like them, others wanting to look and feel like themselves after battling breast cancer and
