>> news 4 at 11:00 begins with breaking news in the murder of a wood bridge high school student. prince williams county police have arrested a suspect at his home without incident.

his house is close to the high school and the scene where 16-year-old brendan wilson was killed. >> good evening. smalls has a lengthy and recent history. he was arrested in september for strong-armed robbery now accused of killing wiplson. he was shot on a path in his neighborhood. witnesses heard three shots. brendan's mother had to be held back at the scene. >> he had a future. why do you have to kill my son? over what? i don't know. >> police say the shooting was drug related. we ask if any other arrests could be made we're told it is still under investigation. the rush to get home from the concert. crowds were not as large as

which is going pretty well. the big concern was that everyone would leave at the same time and cause over crowding and gridlock on the metro system. that doesn't appear to have happened. instead we saw people leaving in waves about half hour before the end of the show. now, metro had set up traffic patterns and staff to direct people if things got too conguested. >> we originally planned to stay closed but the decision was made to reopen for entry only to smi smithsonian. >> because most of the concert attendees appeared to pass through, they were going to close and not have to do extended hours. back to you.

>> many parents are outraged at baker middle school in montgomery county. >> when are you actually going to answer the question why it took you a month! to let us know what happened [ cheers and app] >> tonight they shared their frustration with school officials and principal at a community meeting. police arrested 44-year-old john epps, a contract employee and charged him with sex assault. tonight they are apologizing for not sending a letter home until nearly a month later. >> i'm sorry. that was wrong. that definitely was a mistake. >> according to these documents he was working on security cameras reached out and made a unsolicited and unwanted touch to a 12-year-old girl. security cameras caught him

doing it. in a separate case a 17-year-old high school student who was at baker middle for an activity around the same time claims he also inappropriately touched her. he worked at 50 montgomery county schools. tonight a letter was released requesting back ground checks for all contractor employees. >> the principal realizes there is a need to rebuild trust with the community. >> montgomery county schools will not recognize religious holidays next year. the school board voted to remove the names of christian and jewish holidays from the school calendar after the muslim community petitioned to have their holiday recognized by the district, to be fair the board

decided to remove all religious episodes on the calendar. it used to be a family of four but tonight a father and his daughter are relying on each orange to get through the pain of a fire that ripped through their home and killed two family members. they died in the fire last week. eleven-year-old survived and is now in thele hospital with burns to both her arms. sarah's father grabbed a ladder to rescue her, tried to save his wife and younger daughter but the fire was too intense. >> was the most difficult decision i ever made in my life. when i walked down that ladder i felt helpless, i wanted to jump in but i figured if i didn't get out she'd be an orphan. i didn't want to leave her. >> the community has raised more

than $63,000 to help the family with funeral and medical costs. senators are in cuba to negotiate the release of allen gross, contractor who is in jail in cuba. senators met with him for two hours today. he's been in that prison in cuba since 2009. he was locked up for trying to set up internet access in cuba for u.s. government. they are optimistic about his release. providence hospital will remain open tomorrow despite a nurses strike, for lack of ebola preparedness. they are disappointed with the strike but hired temporary nurses to fill in. the strike will begin at 7:00 a.m. >> that news comes on the heals

of the only remaining ebola patient in the u.s. he said a crisis still exists in west africa where more than 13,000 people have been infected. a teen is arrested for a deadly stabbing, 18-year-old wags arrested accused of stabbing a man to death last month along perry place north west. police believe the victim was walking down the street when he was attacked. police in ferguson are preparing for a possible repeat of last summer's violence a grand jury there is expected to anounnounce whether wilson will face criminal charges in the shooting death of teenager brown. activists blame police for

we will get into air that we haven't felt since mid-march. in fact will feel like early-january temperatures. 26 in kansas city. that air will sink south ward. it will modify. not quite as cold here but boy we're going to be feeling a lot lower temperatures around here. this is wednesday. 60 degrees here. look at the core of the cool in nation's mid section. atlanta will be freezing coming up at the end of the work week. right now not too bad. 65 the temperature. manassas one of our colder spots at 52. there will be a weak system passing by us in the morning. will leavely afternoon.
