what to wear forecast. alexis davies is looking at roads this tuesday. we have low incidents right now on the beltway in maryland and virginia. we have a couple accidents in arlington. the fir one on columbia pike at george mason drive. that's involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. police are on the scene and there are injuries. then just getting reports of another accident on washington boulevard at columbia pike where washington boulevard is shut down due to this accident. and cars are being diverted to columbia pike. taking a live look at 66, all lanes are open. looking good there. back to you. thank you. d.c. mayor vincent gray could soon face federal charges connected to his 2010 campaign. the washington is reporting that gray rejected a plea deal in september and it required the mayor to plead guilty to a single felony count. six other people have already pled guilty to either violating campaign finance laws or having knowledge of a $600,000 shadow campaign for gray. news4 has learned that

prosecutors have been re-interviewing key witnesses in this investigation. that is another indication they are looking to indict the mayor. gray has maintained his innocence. his attorney says if he's indicted, they will look for a speedy trial. today crews are working on a major project in d.c. phase two of the third street tunnel project is about to begin and could affect your drive this morning. megan mcgrath is live with what to lookout for. >> reporter: i'm at the intersection of 3rd and h and traffic is getting through. you can see a car right here at the intersection, however look at all the cop instruction barrels. an indication of what is going to come later on this morning as phas of the larger construction project gets underway. this very busy area, we'll see lane shifts, we'll see some closures here and we're also going to see an impact for pedestrians as sidewalks are

closed. this is happening along massachusetts avenue and h street northwest between 2nd and 4th streets. the work is going to be done from 7:00 a.m. to mid might. and take a look at the roads that will be impacted here. the intersection of 3rd and h street is going to be closed. eastbound h street is going to be redirected to mass avenue. and westbound h street is going to reopen in the old layout to allow travel directly to mass avenue.t a new traffic pattern always causes confusion. and then we'll see the closures. this is going to cause problems, no doubt about it. people who travel through, plan accordingly or plan a different route enrely. this is part of a larger project to build five new buildings across the third street tunnel. before that work can be done, off lot of preliminary work and

they a the look at undergoing other work. in the day ahead, the principal at suitland high school is expected to talk about two fights that happened on campus at tonight's pta meeting. both were caught on cell phone video friday. the mother of the 16-year-old victim holding the pink balloons tells news4 another girl had been bullying her daughter. the victim's 16-year-old boyfriend came to help and was beaten up. he underwent three hours of surgery on his jaw last night and the girl's mother said she told them, nothing is going to happen to your child. >> the school district says we join the community in sadness and shock following the brutal incident that was videotaped this past friday at suitland high school. please be assured that the school system is taking swift and appropriate disciplinary action. no word on whether any students will face criminal charges. this morning a virginia

woman is under arrest accused of trying to isis. investigators say she supported isis on facebook and the affidavit tried to connect her with a facilitator in syria. that person was an undercover fbi agent and kaufman's attorney says she has no connection to the terrorist group. the united nations is considering sanctions against terrorists to include seizing tanks and trucks from all areas in syria and iraq. and the the panel that wants all countries to deny aircraft permission to land ore take off if they are coming from or going to territory held by the two terrorist gr> w following a developing story this morning. someone at the potomac high

school has been diagnosed with tuberculosis. couy health department is tracking down anyone who had close contact with the people person there. and a new school will be located on dumfries road in manassas. the county revised the boundaries last month after concerns about the diversity of the original area. the new high school which has not been named yet is slated to open in september of 2016. we're following breaking news. four people killed while praying in a jerusalem synagogue this morning. the strong response from israel's prime minister. and the new connection discovered between your credit and health. and if you're about to head out,

6:21. we have dramatic new video into the live desk of an attack on a synagogue in jerusalem. take a look, this looks like it was shot with cell phone video. what you're looking at is israeli police firing at a palestinen gunman near the entrance of the synagogue. it's a little shaky, but more police race up to help the shoot-out happening after the men stabbed and killed four israelis as they prayed. also new, the israeli prime minist benjamin netanyahu say this case will respond harshly and the palestinian president condemning t attack but the hamas militants praised it. recently tension has been rising over a nearby holy site in jerusalem. thank you. 6:18 now. this morning a 19-year-old is facing charges following a fight at a birthday party in prince william county. joseph daramus is charged with stabbing a boy and impersonating

he started to turn people away. a fight broke out and a teen was stabbed. daramus is being held without bond. the i is calling the hatchet attack on a group of new york police officers an act of terror. jame comey says zale thompson was inspired by groups online like isis. thompson was killed by police. the senate is set to vote on the keystone xl pipeline today. several lawmakers see it as a way to support mary landrieu from louisiana. she's the biggest democratic supporter of the bill and is facing a runoff vote for her seat next month. right now reports say the bill has support from all 45 senate republicans and 14 democrats leaving it one vote shy of the 60 it would need to pass. 6:19 now. the president is expected to act on immigration any day now.

we are learning what people think about what he could do. a new poll from "usa today" says 46% of americans think president obama should wait until all the newly-elected lawmakers take office. another 42% think he should take action today. you might remember the usc football player who hurt his ankle jumping to save his nephew in the pool. josh shaw said he made that up and injured himself after jumping from the balcony of his apartment after arguing with his girlfriend. prosecutors say they will not press charges because there's not enough evidence. shaw was suspended from the team. today we are going to talk about the cold weather because this is a shock to the system. we have been talking about cold, but 20 degrees? >> and the windchill, 11 degrees out at dulles. tom kierein is here with everything we need to know about to stay warm. tom? >> right now i'm thinking of the beach in st. lucia.

off to work and school. the windchills now are in the single digits to the teens in the region. the windchill in washington is just in the mid-teens. by 8:00, hour by hour, look at the windchills still in the teens with winds gusting over 30 miles an hour. then by noontime for your lunch hour, windchills still around 20 degrees. teens north and west. and then heading back home by 4:00 p.m., the windchills will still be very cold in the low 20s to teens in the north and west. the winds will diminish later this afternoon. a look at the cold change coming in tonight, we'll take a look at that coming up at 6:41. now we have some delays already on this tuesday morning. alexis davies is in for melissa, what's going on? we have more volume on the roadways but no major accidents to report. d.c. 295 southbound we are looking slow there at 12 miles per hour approaching pennsylvania avenue. and elsewhere, 95 northbound in

virginia right around the fairfax county parkway seeing more volume but no accidents reported. and chopper 4 to the 270 split, we'll pass that right now. and huntington avenue at north highland street we have reports of an accident as well. and right now investigators are trying to figure out why a car crashed into a house in montgomery county. chopper 4 over the scene last night at new hampshire avenue in e fire department says nobody inside that home was hurt. and a man was hit while crossing the street. this accident happened last night near evergreen lane. crews had to rush a 52-year-old man to the hospital with life-threateni injuries. fairfax county police tell us the man was not in the crosswalk and the driver did stay on the scene. today the president and congress get briefed on the battle against ebola. the president will speak with his national security and public health teams about whether the outbreak is contained.

and on cap top hill, one house committee will focus on the fight in africa and the other discusses the prevent of the disease from spreading here at home. and now u.s. troops are heading to the area where we need more troops. tracie potts has more from washington. they served in iraq in 2009 and now they are being prepared to go and relieve some of the active duty members currently in sierra leone and siberia. they he to go through training for the white protective suits but should be ready to go next spring. th reason the pentagon chose

these specific groups, battalions, is because of their experti th nee people with the type of technical expertise to move equipment in and out of there. and that's what the 398th out of rockville does so well. they will get their training and expect to head over there some time next spring. so far 850 total, 68 out of this battalion and 850 total from around the country are trying to ramp up to a couple thousand to relieve those alrea over there. that deployment could last as long as since months. 6:34 and investigators try to figure out what caused a plane to blow a tire at dulles. the united airlines plane made and emergency landing just after takeoff. chopper 4 flew over the website as crews respond ed.

welcome back at 6:40. a new poll reveals most of us are leery of the self-driving cars. 65% of those surveyed felt the self-driving cars are a dangerous idea and despite the idea, 61% said they would consider buying a car with features like automatic collision avoidance and parking assistance. half would walk away from buying a car if its technology was too hard to use. a new survey says we're still using our smartphones behi the wheel but not for making calls. state farm says the percentage of drivers who acknowledge
