wreckage from that airasia flight even more difficul crews were able to recover more bodies before bad weather set in today. but it could be the main fuselage 100 feet you said the r the sea. kelly cobie has the latest. searchers recovered two more bodies today, bringing the total to nine. nine bodies recovered from this plane crash somewhere in the java sea. they have also identified the first victim as an indonesian woman as a passenger. her body turned over to her relatis in surabaya. there was a grief ceremony and emotiol scene with her relative r remai were taken back to her local village and she was buried tonight. in terms of the search searchs are really focusing on the theory that the main fuselage has either held together or is in the same area so they're looking in the spot in the east java sea where a plane spotted something, a shadow or image of some sort

going on the notion that perhaps that is the main body of wreckage. but tothing definitive yet. they broug in all sorts of equipment to try to help them answer that question and potentia send down navy divers to verify they have an unmanned underwater vessel metal detecting equipment, 3-d mapping, sea floor mapping. but as yet, haven't been able to decisive say that that is the main body of wreckage. and, of course once again, they're battling the weather. the high seas the choppy waves, high winds and heavy rains have all come back. and that's really hampering efforts. there are still some ships involved in the search overnigh but the aircraft are grounded the divers didn't get out today. weren't able to go down and check anything out. and that may be the case again, tomorrow. they also now have equipment out searchin for those pings, listenin for the pings of the black boxes. and so far, have not heard anything.y one investigator said it may be a week before we find those black boxes.

>> back home tonight, the fire is out, but the smell of smoke still in th air around a busy d.c. neighborhood. a restaurant burned but customers inside didn't even know it was on fire. the district 2 bar and grill is on wisconsin avenue just down the street from the national cathedral. where news4's jackie is live after talking to a witness who sounded the alarm today. jackie? >>te jim, we're told things happe very quickly. the fire that broke out at wisconn avenue and mccombs street northwest appeared to start on the roof of the buildi at th corner. because it's new year's day a lot of people in the surrounding neighbor were home at a condo building across the st bruce johnston smelled smoke. went to his window and looked out, and instinctively grabbing his phone and shooting video. that's when he realized to his horror the smoke was coming from the roof blowing skyward, d people in the restaurant didn't know it wa >> right across the street and

who was dealing with marriage problemsso she let her stay with her in her home. but in the mide of the night, she heard those screams for help. and that's when she found herself a witness to a deadly domest. neighborn livingston d just finished watching the ball drop in new york city on . but her new year cele here in woodbridge cut short by a frantic knock at the door. it was the woman who lives across street. she was carrying a baby and pleaded for carolyn and her neighbors to call police. she told them someone stabbed her friend. >> i hollered out the window what w the address, so we could 911, and we did. and then she went back and got in the car and sat in the car. >> officers poure this quiet street. and then the police showed up. the more pol sho. that's about all -- then the helicos cam out. >> r they found erica rene's body inside her friend's home a home she hoped would shelter her against her husband.

the pair had been dealing with relati problems. >> we were following the incide and it was domestically related bet husba and wife. we had an i.d. on the suspect and we were just basically in a search to locate him. >> investigators say after stabbing erica, john drove off in his car. he only made it a few blocks. at the corner of concord and cloverda a half mile away, po say sherwood drove to this point, crashed his car here front of this 7-eleven got out of the car and took off running. police say he made his way to intersta 95 trying to get away. >> a state trooper spotted someone on the interstate which is unusual, just walking on the intersta matched the description. attempted to sto him and he continue to flee. luckily we had the helicopter up. fairfax couy police assisted us. the chopper tracked sherwood to the rest stop. he r to the woodbridge campus but police had him in sight and arrest him shortly after the stabbing. can tell you that sherwood is

been scouring the capitol s neighborhood where he was found. the silver cab company says ya-ya picked up someone at addison road metro station and dropped someo off in capitol s a couple hours before his body was found. police are offering a $25,000 reward in this case. but despite the deadly start to the new year prince george actually finished 2014 with its lowest murder rate since the mid '80s much. the county had 54 homicides last year down two from 2014. the deadliest year in the county was 2005 when more than 160 people were killed. it's a new year but proteste say they won't forget about the problems of 2014. that was the point of a die-in at westfield wheaton mall today. ab 40 protesters laid on the floor in silent protest before walking the halls of the mall with their han up there. one of t organizers a howard univer student, told the priori of protesters are not changing
