personnel interviews. the first lawsuit from the incide will also be filed in this court today. the 53-year-old says the transit agency was negligent in both operation and responding to the deadly incident. a memorial for the woman who died after the smoke filled that train is set for monday. friends will remember carol glover at capitol hill baptist church in northeast. the service will begin at 10:00 a.m.. the medical examiner determined that glover died of acute respiratory failure caused by smoke exposure. virginia's governor says he wants answers about the deadly metro incident sooner rather than later. governor mcauliffe sat down with our northern virginia bureau chief. he says a transportation summit in virginia later this month will be all about metro. he'll also be meeting with d.c. mayor bowser and incoming maryland governor larry hogan. mcauliffe used the word total breakdown to describe his initial reaction to what

>> reporter: tharight. the vice pre is going to be here later today actually touring the work site. this is all about cleaning up the anacostia river. and a big obstacle to that over the years has been the overflow of sewage into the water. right now crews are in the process of building a series of underground tunnels to stop that from happening. a while ago we got a peek at some of the massive machines that are being used to drill the path of those tunnels. this video taken before they were pressed into service, but they are underground now beginning that work pd a it's a pretty impressive project. this is all a part of the clean rivers project. and when it's finished, girls combined sewer overflows should be reduced by 98%. which should go a long way to cleaning up the anacostia river. later today, the vice president joe biden will join mayor bowser and others for a tour of this site. and we're expecting to get an update on how far along they are

good as well. of course dale city has started to act up here. 95 north bound through dale city a little slow as it normally is this time of day. a look at 66 coming up. 5:54 now. schools in prince george's may face $40 million in budget cuts. this is part of maryland's $1 billion budg ghap accordingyer re hoey hogan expected to present his first budget next week. kevin maxwell told the newspaper that potential budget cuts is the giveequivale of 500 teaching positions. the county has grown by 4,000 kids in two years. some immigrants could soon be barred for tr getting in-state tuition. a senate panel voted yesterday to override a ruling made by attorney general mark harg. that ruling would have allowed imgraptss who came to the united illegally as children to qualify for in-state tuition. the students are allowed to remain in the country under an obama administration program.
