carol glover the woman this died of acute respiratory failure following the incident last monday. the ntsb found an arcing third rail at the center of the incident. there's radio communications problems among responders' equipment making an already difficult rescue even more difficult. >> this was a huge huge rescue effort underground, 800 feet down in the tunnel. with zero visibility on a 22-inch walkway. we had to evacuate people single file. >> reporter: in the letter metro's leaders also pledged to look at emergency protocols from a region-wide perspective looking to implement what the agency calls mutual improvement. the letter a formal apology comes as a surprise to some riders we spoke to. >> i guess a step in the right direction. >> honestly the apology to me doesn't mean much because, you know stuff like this always

happens but it takes them forever to like finally fix the problems. >> the mayor calling for a local probe into the local response is also pledging that the communications issues will be addressed quickly. >> so that we know exactly what happened and so that it will reporter: at last count, a dozen of hundreds of riders affected by the incident on monday are considering legal action. now, i did speak with one person who was on board that train, that person does not want to be identified and wondered if this did not amount to an admission and also if it meant anything to the victims -- family of the victim who died. we are live news 4. >> that report also sheds light on how frantic the situation was in that tunnel through a series of 911 calls. one said quote, we are on the train and it's filling with smoke. we have been here half an hour. we are having trouble breathing. when are we getting help?

montgomery only about a 30% chance of some showers. i'm posting this on my facebook and twitter pages and in ten minute it is timing on the system arrives an leaves. >> thank you. see you in a couple of minutes. developing tonight, howard county police issued an arrest warrant for a man who killed his cystsister-in-law and tried to cover up the crime. timothy fuller is wanted for murder and arson. this morning, police found his sister-in-law stacy fuller dead in a burning trailer home. police believe that she lived there and that her husband and his brother was also in that home. investigators say that it appears tim fuller shot and killed stacy after some type of argument. and then set the home on fire before taking off. four dogs in the home also died in the fire. and it's not known where her husband was at this time. tim fuller's believed to be driving a 2005 white ford focus with maryland tag that is you

prostitute. greg anthony, one of several people arrested and charged in an undercover sting operation. police arrested him just b at the doubletree hotel on rhode island avenue where he was staying. according to a police report, anthony used a computer to solicit a prostitute and he was since suspended from cbs and he says i made a mistake with this lapse of judgment. i embarrassed many including myselfment i will work to regain the trust i have lost and the first step is saying that i am sorry. new tonight, a disturbing story out of new jersey. and we do want to warn you that the details are pretty upsetting. a 22-year-old woman is charged with murder for killing her newborn baby setting the little girl on fire. police say it happened on the side of a road. the woman said that it was dog waste but police discovered the woman had doused her daughter with accelerant before igniting her. the little girl later died.

there was a sea of blue today in the district in support of our local law enforcement. hundreds of people came out for the rally. organized by the wives of three police officers. demonstrators carried signs that read blue lives matter and marched to the u.s. capitol. among the large crowd were members of the metropolitan police department. >> you know criminals and bad guys all the time everybody is you know working hard out here to make sure that people are safe. again, we're not robots. we're human. >> the rally was peaceful and ended with prayer. we caught up with mayor bowser to get her reaction to the rally and said demonstrations are part of the country's history. >> we know that peaceful protest is certainly part of the american tradition where people
