killed one woman and september more than more than 80 others to the hospital. there will be a closed door meeting after the briefing and lawmakers will hold a news conference. new this morning, you can vote in the may election in hyattsville if you are 16 years old or older. last night, the hyattsville city council unanimously passed a measure to lower the voting age. hyattsville is the second city in the country to lower the voting age. takoma park is the other city that allows 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in n. municipal elections. right now snow trucks are preparing the roads for some snow later today. your morning commute may not be impacted as it is expected to arrive late morning. 200 snow trucks were scheduled to hit theoads this morning in preparation. in northern virginia 800 trucks were set to be on the roads by midnight. you're advised to put salt on your sidewalks as we expect slick conditions.

baltimore. she was found months later floating in the susquehanna river. johnson is her sister's ex-boyfriend. his conviction was overturned. he maintains his innocence from day one. >> we firmly believe that the court good the right thing in this case and that justice was done and we're very very thankful. >> baltimore's state's attorney says the court had no jurisdiction to grant the acquittal and it plans to appeal. police are searching for a man in a fedex uniform after a shooting last night in dees.c.. the woman ran to the metro station for help. any motive right now is unclear. police are also searching for a suspect after three teens were shot in northeast washington yesterday. the shooting was reported in an alley around 3:00 p.m.. sources tell news 4 the teens were in one of these cars when they were shot. only one of the three suffered

began with a burglary in alexandria. police arrested forest oig whita burglary in alexandria. police arrested forest oig investigators say when a couple walked if on the burglary white stabbed the 84-year-old man and abducted his wife. they say he forced the woman to drive an atm to withdraw money. white faces several charges including abduction and carjacking. two people are recovering after being injured in a fire. no word on what caused the fire. it gutsted the building. it took 45 firef get flames under control. a neighbor rescued ruth williams and her sonwatson. they are both expected to be okay. investigators now have a clearer picture on why air asia owing flight 8501 crashed last month. the jet was pushed beyond its limits in the final seconds of the flight and climbed a steep 6,000 feet in one minute before stalling and then plummeting into the water.

it's not clear yet why the plane made that climb in the first place. the pilots did ask to increase theirle altitude to 38,000 feet to avoid a storm. controllers said no to that request because there were too many other planes in the area. the secret service is responding to new reports about the shooting near joe biden's hospital saturday night. the "washington post" was first to report and nbc news has confirmed surveillance cameras did not capture any images of the gunman. the post says the cameras were not the aimed it at the road where neighbors heard a car speed away after shots were fired. secret service says all security measures were fully functioning. the wake for corey mattison will be held today. he was shot in his home allegedly by his wife's ex-husband. we're learned the man accused in the fatal shooting was was captured by his mother. the mother tackled him and held him down in a struggle for the

midwest, the stronger energy that will be getting closer to us later this morning. so all these counties in northern virginia, including they're bye sub near suburbs. heaviest looks to be between noon to 4:00 p.m.. expect some delays during the afternoon. here is the timing of the system as it does move on through. we'll have the leading edge of any snow arriving as far as any accumulating snow in perhaps the panhandle of west virginia, northern shenandoah valley away 9:00 or 10:00. and then that tracks off to the east and we have a mix of rain in area in green with a little snow mixing in and then all snow farther north. then by 5:00 6:00 x most of it is gone and it heads off to the east leaving in its wake about a coating to an inch in the metro area. mostly rain to our south. 1 to 3 inches farther north and west. a few spots out of the mountains might get 2 to 4 inches. and temperatures right now in the 20s to near 30 degrees.

"news 4 today" continues at 4:00 a.m.. we start with breaking news right now. firefighters are battling a house fire. >> this is happen at a home on 40th street near north chester brooke road. richard jordan just arrived on the scene there. >> reporter: this is just off of north glebe road. still several firefighters here on the scene. but the fire is out. take a look at the damage caused here inside this home. arlington county firefighters saying when they first arrived, there were two people that had managed to escape the flames. they were standing on the roof of the porch. they were pulled down off the roof they were taken to the
