arizona where the party has started for new england. so has the second-guessing for the seahawks. jim handly was on the field when the confetti started falling. meanwhile, the northeast is getting ready for more heavy snow to fall. this is what's headed their way from chicago. hundreds of monday flights already canceled and now amtrak is preparing for possible delays on the northeast corridor tomorrow. doug how about us? what are we looking at tomorrow? >> right now, snow in parts of the area up toward half an inch to an inch in some locations, especially across montgomery county and howard county frederick county too. the rest of it is changing to rain. we even had snow around the d.c. metro area an hour ago. that's all changing to rain. the rain/snow line continuing toward the north. this is a very big system. it's continuing to move our way. you see the rain and snow. but even toward the west we have more rain to go. we're going to see a rainy night tonight and a rainy start to

that neighbor. darcy spencer talked to the woman who called 911. this right here. >> reporter: erica bolock called 911 when her carbon monoxide detector went off about 12:30 in the afternoon. firefighters found high levels of c.o. in the apartment building and rescued a woman who was near death. you may have saved her life. >> i'm happy, too, you know. this -- that could have been anybody. >> reporter: neighbors had knocked on her door for the last two days to check on her because c.o. detectors had been going off in the building here fre franklin park apartments -- at the franklin park apartments in greenbelt. there was no answer. firefighters had to force their way into the apartment. once inside she was unresponsive. fortunately, medics were able to revive her and get her breathing on her own. firefighters found nearly triple the normal level of c.o. the source of the leak of a dislodge ventilation pipe. it carries the toxic gas from

the basement water heater to the outside. >> they pulled my neighbor out. it was heartbreaking to see her like that. >> reporter: neighbors tell news4 that c.o. detectors in the building started going off thursday. maintenance responded but some were told to change the batteries. >> when the maintenance man came we said -- he told us no it's not carbon. he said it's probably gases. they can trigger that also. >> reporter: aubrey murray says there was a c. o. emergency in the same building in 2010. >> this is just icing on the cake. i mean you know they -- i fear for my life now. >> reporter: news4 called and e-mailed the property management but has not yet received a response. darcy spencer, news4. several families are out of their home tonight because of a fire at their apartment building. it happened this morning on dudley lane in bethesda. two firefighters suffered minor injuries fighting the blaze. at least three families were displaced. the red cross investigators say they believe that fire started in a dryer vent.

d.c. police arrested a couple for leaving their children unattended in a car for about an hour on saturday. the couple was eating inside a foggy bottom restaurant on 23rd street. somebody saw the kids outside and called police around 6:00 p.m. the parents are now charged with cruelty to children. new tonight a decision about superintendent joshua starr's future with the montgomery county school system was supposed to happen by tonight. but the news4 i-team has learned that the school board is extending contract deliberations. those talks will continue tomorrow. board members say they need more opportunities to communicate with starr. a district official tells us that the board will probably make an announcement on tuesday. at 8:00 in the morning, the building where 12 people were killed at the washington navy yard will reopen for the first time in a year and a half. it will open with a new name after a multimillion dollar renovation. now only on news4, chris

lawrence speaks to the man who will be first to walk through the doors. it's taken 16 months and more than $60 million. the navy is just hours away for opening building 197. >> monday it will be renamed the humphries building. >> reporter: and vice admiral william hillartis will be the first to go back to work there. >> many of the areas most affected changed dramatically. >> reporter: new carpets, cubicles and cafeteria as well as a special area honoring the 12 who died. aaron alexis was able to stalk the halls for 69 minutes. the original building's tight corridors and 300 cubicles made it nearly impossible to fine him. the navy says it's dramatically improved the ability to navigate inside. >> the color schemes, the maps all the things associated with getting around the building. >> reporter: jennifer bennett came face to face with the shooter. he blew a five-inch hole in her arm and shoulder. >> i called out for jesus, jesus, please come help me.

>> reporter: she knows some survivors' scars are harder to. navy officials have asked bennett to help her co-workers still suffering from post traumatic stress. >> those who still are struggling to help identify them and hear them move -- help them move back into our building. >> reporter: 400 worker will move back tomorrow. hundreds more staggered over next nine weeks. navy officials say they'll have extra security during the move to make people feel as safe as possible. but some workers have already told the navy they cannot go back in the building under any circumstances. they will be accommodated at other off-site buildings. jim? >> thanks. new tonight, another person arrested near the white house. secret service caught somebody climbing the temporary fence this afternoon. the extra barrier is made up of bike racks. it was put up around the white house gate last september after a man made it all the way into the white house. the man arrested today was taken in for unlawful entry.
