woman. she stayed to herself. as a matter of fact she would clean people's houseses for some extra cash. let's go to some video. investigators returned to the scene today. >> 54-year-old ruth radioed ofl was -- they were neighbors. police say they got into some kind of argument yesterday. it escalated. he allegedly murdered her at the condo building. she was found about 11:30 yesterday morning dedz from trauma to her body. >> it's very sad that she had to leave here like that. very sad. it feels like something like that should not have happened. it's been a pleasant place to live for so long. now i'm kind of frightened to be here but she's with god now, she's in.

bang. >> crews had to dig deep, and traffic is still being detoured. crew advisory blocked the exit tonight two families need to find somewhere to live after a fire ripped through their homes in gaithersburg. the fire broke out late friday night on landing court. we learned it started in one home's chimney and then spread to the neighbor's house. no one was hurt. the fire did about $200,000 in damage. brian williams has decided take himself off the desk for the next several days. now, williams wrote an e-mail to some of his colleagues t saying it's become apparent that he has become too much part of the news. earlier this week williams apologized for statements he made about his reporting in iraq. he has now admitted that the statements are not true. nbc news president debra turnis has announced that an internal nbc investigative team is working to gather the facts about those statements. lester holt anchor "nbc nightly news" until williams
