richmond highway following a water main break that caused a sinkhole on richmond highway. you can see chopper 4 flew over the scene last night. we checked with fairfax water. the water is back on. they hope to get the road back open in time for the morning rush hour. and crews will inspect a bridge over suitland parkway after falling debris crushed a windshield. a woman was behind will the wheel when a chunk of concrete fell. she was not hurt. highway officials are taking a closer look today. >> you can see that huge crack. >> pretty scary. 4:31. 32 degrees outside our studios. and the bottom is about to fall out here. >> i thought it was cold already. tom kierein telling us about how much colder it's going to get. >> good morning. yes, enjoy this while you can.

morning when they tried to go back in and rescue sonny. his father and older brother managed to escape. the teen's friends are still coming to grips with the tragedy. >> you would never see sonny sad. you could be sad from the inside, but always cheer you up. he will always be in my heart. >> they believe the fire started in a bedroom, but not sure how. maryland's fire marshal says this fire is a good reminder for you to have an escape plan. 13 people have already died in fires across the state this year. that's a 30% jump over the same time last year. 7 of those who died are under the age of 18. a second teenager shot at frederick high school in maryland has been released from the hospital. two teenagers were shot last week at the school gym. the other teen was released on friday. police are asking students who were at the gym on february 4 to pry any photos or videos that may help in this investigation.

frederick city police have no leads in the shooting. jesse matthew is now charged with killing uva student hannah graham. prosecutors made the murder charges official yesterday. they also charged him with attempted murder for a fairfax county rape case from ten years ago. graham's body was found back in october. matthew could spend life in prison if convicted. i'm angie goff at the live desk with this happening right now.u.s. embassy in yemen is shutting down amid unrest in the country. this comes a day after operations were suspended there. the state department saying that all americans have moved out of the area as concerns over security mount. rebels have recently taken over much of the country. and there is also a raffle warning for all americans living in yemen. the entire country to leave and they're asking people not to travel to the country, as well. but u.s. military conducting counterterrorism efforts and missions in other parts of the country, they will stay.

aaron. it's 4:35. the white house says there is no doubt that an american hostage was killed by isis. kayla mueller was taken in august of 2013. isis said she died during an air strike. her family received a message from isis telling them she was in fact dead. >> kayla has touched the heart of the world. the world grieves with us. the world mourns with us. >> u.s. officials don't know how she died but they are certain it was at the hands of isis. record numbers of foreign fighters have now joined isis in iraq and syria. 20,000 fighters are now part of that group. that number includes at least 3400 fighters from western countries. u.s. intelligence officials have said as many as 150 americans

u.s. park police say they are hiring 18 new i'ves in response to concerns the department can't keep national monuments safe. mark segraves spoke to the chairman of the park police union. he says budget cuts have put staffing legalvels at their lowest points in five years. he was concerned about terror concerns. >> we're pulling detectives and horse pack officers to respond as patrol officers. we're pulling folks who usually do forensics collection to work as patrol officers because we're so short staffed. >> the union also told mark a lack of cameras on the baltimore-washington parkway is hurting the department. he said it's made it much more difficult to investigate accidents and crimes like the deadly hit and run on the parkway last week. after 17 years of bringing political comedy to a whole new level, jon stewart announced he is stepping down from "the daily show". he told husband audience the news yesterday. stewart did not say what he

welcome back at 4:45. a family in northern virginia is upset with an alexandria school because their 8-year-old daughter left school without the teacher noticing. rebecca and her husband, anthony, want their daughter to attend another school. they plan to meet again with the alexandria city public school superintendent this afternoon. on friday morning 8-year-old natalia left williams ramsey elementary and started walking home. someone found her wandering the streets and called police. an officer called the parents. >> the officer says has the school contacted you. i said no they obviously don't know she's missing. >> natalia was gone to about an
