hen her suv collided with a school bus yesterday. knight was driving north on old middletown road and hit the front end of the southbound bus. the bus driver and one of the students on board suffered minor injuries. officers say knight was not texting at the time of the crash. her phone was in her pocket. today funeral services will be held for a man who was killed on the bw parkway. rick warrick was hit and killed last week while changing a tire. his fiance was also hit but survived. the driver did not stop after hitting the couple. warrick's viewing begins at 9:00 a.m.. this crash also led to the reassignment of an anne arundel county dispatcher after he told warrick's daughter to stop lining during her call to 911. i'm richard jordan at the live desk. grab your power ball ticket you could be a winner. a $1 million ticket was sold in maryland. that matched all five of the six

pictures of kids. when he saw a photo that he liked, he'd make a copy for himself. martin also used his cell phone to take videos of young girls walking through the cvs. >> he always had his camera like he would stop in at cvs on the weekend. i'm like where are you off to? he's going to the zoo. and i just thought he liked taking pictures. >> martin told police he also recorded girls at the national zoo in 2013. at his home investigators found tens of thousands of pictures and videos that martin had been collecting since 1977. a rabbi accused of voyeurism will be in court next week and we're now hearing he could take a plea deal. we didn't know the terms of the deal yet. larry freundel is accused of secretly recording a religious bath. we one of those women and her husband. they're against the deal. >> he would not have to face his victims during the trial.

that punishment would be taken away. >> freundel was fired from the kesher israel orthodox synagogue in december. he was the rabbi there for 25 years. there are no plans for any major repairs on a beltway overpass despite a frightening incident where falling concrete smashed a car. kathleen dean who was driving that car told you news 4 it sounded like a bomb. however, in a statement maryland state highway officials say the bridge over suitland road is safe. they say the debris that fell is superficial and has nothing to do with the integrity or safety of the bridge. news 4 did obtain an inspection report that lists the bridge as one of 82 considered structurally deficienting a cross across the state. long time 60 minutes and cbs correspondent bob simon has been killed in a car crash in new york city. it happened on manhattan's west side highway. we're told he was a passenger in a town car that hit another vehicle. the roof was cut off of the town

car to remove simon and driver. both were taken to the hospital. simon died on the way. he was 73 years old. 4:36 now. tonight muslims will gather at dupont circle to remember three college students murdered near the university of north carolina. council on american islamic relations is holding that vigil. last night thousands of students put aside their differences to remember the victims. 46-year-old craig hicks is charged with the murders. many are calling it a hate crime against muslims. so far, though police believe the shootings were the result of a parking dispute at an apartment building. it is now 4:36. today we'll find out who will replace chuck hagel as secretary of defense. there was a unanimous vote to advance ashton carter's nomination. once it hits his desk president obama has ten days to veto a bill authorizing construction of the keystone xl pipeline. it cleared the house yesterday

and is seen as a significant legislative and political victory for republicans. but the president has repeatedly threatened to veto the bill and republicans don't have the votes to override him. advocates say it would mean jobs. opponents are concerned about the environmental impacts. there is a new push to combat drug overdoses especially heroin. in maryland the state attorney general will talk about the initiative in baltimore later this morning. we'll be working with our partner station there to tell you what he says. maryland leaders say there has been a surge of heroin related deaths in that state from about 254 years ago to more than 400 last year. d.c. is now cracking down -- business regulators seized more than $1,000 worth of skoob bisnacks there. we're told district officials are working on other similar

lawmakers in annapolis will hear evidence to support a ban on indoor tanning for minors. it says people who use indoor tanning machines before the age of 35 increase their arriving of being diagnosed with skin cancer by 59%. the bill has died in the is that the for thesenate for the past three years. the d.c. public charter school board will decide to revoke the charter of the dorothy high school. . the board started an investigation after staff noticed a lot of money problems he school. there was a rally in hopes of keeping the school 0e7. the open. the board will vote this morning. we will know tonight whether two schools will close at the end of this year. the school system ceo has recommended thomas clag get oig

facing charges in hawaii for stealing an australian golfer's credit cards. 32-year-old owen harbison stole the wallet of peter allerby and racked up charges. police say they have no evidence to back up the abduction claims. new this morning from the live desk former airline executive is going to jail for a year after throwing a tantrum on a plane. the work was working for korean air at the time. back on december 5, she apparently got angry that she had been offered macadamia nuts in a bag instead of on a dish. that's what caused the outburst and then the executive ordered the pilot to change his course also threw a crew member off the plane once it landed. prosecutors had originally asked

windchills dropping by this afternoon. by 4:00 p.m. windchills will be in the upper 20s. by this time tomorrow morning, windchills from 5 above to 5 below zero. what a blast of wind will be coming in. and we will have our we said gusts by 6:00 p.m. around 30 to 35 miles per hour. in fact even near 40-mile-per-hour wind gusts in the shenandoah valley around the bay mid 30-mile-per-hour wind gusts. these are future winds. going forward, 8:00 p.m. winds gusting to near 40 miles per hour around the metro area as well as shenandoah valley and into the mountains. ed a look at these wind gusts by 11:00 p.m. still gusting to around 40 miles an hour. winchester wind gusts to low 40s as we get in to the late evening hours. as a result, we have the windchill advisory all these counties in blue shenandoah valley, western maryland for these subzero windchills that will be moving in later tonight all the way into friday morning.
