our storm team 4 patio camera. it's dangerously cold but dry. boy tomorrow night, things could look a lot different. meteorologist amelia seigel begins our coverage with a powerful system coming our way. >> chris, starting at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow the d.c. metro area is going to be under a winter storm warning. that's going to run until noon on tuesday. all of the areas shaded in pink this includes prince william, fauquier loudoun, and montgomery counties as well as the district and prince george's county. areas further north you're under a winner storm watch that begin at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow evening and runs through noon on tuesday. here the timing with the system. starts to move in by 4:00 tomorrow. your presidents' day, manning on skiing keep that in mind. one the snow gets here, it will start to accumulate because temperatures are so cold. we'll see snow heavy at times monday into early tuesday morning. here we are at 5:00 a.m., still tracking snow showers. those will move out by 10:00 a.m. this could be the most snow

we've seen so far this season. coming up in just over ten minutes, i'll let you know how to to expect in your neighborhood and before the snow arrives, we're dealing with dangerously cold air in spots. i'll be looking at the lows, as well. >> thanks. you in tonight, a high-speed police chase ends with a crash in the woods. now officers are on the hunt for the driver. the chase started in calvert county. ittened in prince george's county. >> that's right. that's where we find darcy spencer. darcy, what's going on out there? >> reporter: chris, i can tell you i just confirmed with police that this chase reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. i'm standing on water street right across the street this way is the prince george's county courthouse to give you an idea. right here is the on ramp to pennsylvania avenue north. that car had crashed in the woods. the manhunt continues this hour. police tell news4 the driver of this stolen car crashed into the woods during a pursuit, and the

suspected car thief bailed out. police searched for the suspect in freezing cold temperatures. the car crashed off the ramp for northbound pennsylvania avenue in upper marlboro right across from the equestrian center. started in calvert county just before 8:30 at night. the suspected thief jumped into the 2012 dodge charger. the owner had left it warming on mint court in prince frederick. after the car went out, a sheriff's deputy tried to pull over the driver but the driver took off. that initiated a roughly 20-mile chase from prince frederick to upper marlboro. stop sticks were deployed to try to stop the car. it's unclear if the suspect ran them over. the pursuit continued up route 4, ending here in the woods. now police are telling me they have no idea where this suspect is but they do believe that he was injured in this crash. he have perhaps given someone a phone call and been picked up.

that manhunt is continuing right here tonight. reporting live in upper marlboro darcy spencer, news4. back to the cold weather which is a big problem for about 1,000 homes with no power tonight. pepco reports about 840 customers in our area with no electricity. dominion is working on 95 outages, and bawl gas and electric has 6. -- has 6. trucks will head out to treat roads by 3:00 in the afternoon monday. the district is asking residents and businesses to pretreat sidewalks before the storm hits and reminding them sidewalks need to be clear within 2 hours after the storm. the virginia department of transportation says it is now in high response mode. 2,500 crew members will be working in sthoifts treat the roads and to remove snow. in maryland crews also at the ready. about 1,200 trucks on standby. because of the extreme temperatures the george washington birthday parade scheduled tomorrow is canceled:the bone-chilling blast

of cold air did major damage including blowing a tree right across a femme's roof. check out the roof in landover. orlando rimalo pushed his wife out of the way but got hit by branch. the couple says they're lucky to be alive. >> sheet rock everywhere. yeah fiber glass, all that stuff, came on to us. >> the couple's four kids were in the house at the time but weren't hurt. that's what black ice will do. it made dangerous driving conditions today. in montgomery county there were 300 emergency calls overnight and into the morning. black be ice led to a chain-reaction crash on river road in bethesda. drivers tried unsuccessfully to avoid each other. >> the gay been >> the -- the guy behind me was going to hit another car. i thank god -- i thank god. i was praying all this time.

all this time was happening i was praying. >> no one seriously hurt. high spin knocked down trees and power lines in maryland. twochbl emergency workers got the hurt working an overnight accident. this car crashed on the beltway last night near river road. two emts were trying to help the victims when a truck lost control and crashed into the car and the ambulance. no word if icy roads are to blame, but six people had to be rushed to the hospital. >> an elderly woman and her son have been found dead outside their home after being outside in the cold for most of the night. detectives in spotsylvania virginia say viola cox and her son douglas died. viola was 8 her son was 60 -- was 84 her son was 60. viola had a medical emergency. when her son tried to help he had his own medical emergency. there were no signs of trauma. there are no signs of foul play. the medical examiner will determine the cause of death. you in tonight, there's been a rash of break-ins in ashburn.

now the sheriff is warning families lock your doors and windows and keep your valuables in a safe. burglars have broken in three time in a back door or window. they usually strike in the early evening when residents aren't home. the sheriff the homeowners are all of asian descent and may have been targeted because of their ethnicity. this woman is in custody accused of stabbing her boyfriend in bladensburg. prince george's county investigators say porsche williams killed him at his apartment this morning, and she was still there when officers arrived. she's been charged with second-degree murder. overseas the egyptian government declared a seven-day period of mourning after isis militants beheaded 21 christian hostages. isis releasing the video today. it appears of to been filmed on the coast of the mediterranean sea. the men are coptic christians from egypt and were kidnapped in libya. in the video, a masked fighter

>> excited to say the least -- >> little more than that. i know kids will be excited fwuz looks like -- some federal workers, they may be off on tuesday now. >> yeah. so a three-day weekend potentially turning into a four-day weekend. snow is looking extremely likely tomorrow into tuesday morning. i'll have the amounts coming up in a moment. first, here are your weather headlines. before we get to the snow moving in we're going to be dealing with dangerously cold weather overnight into tomorrow morning. mainly north of washington. by the afternoon hours, it's still cold but the winds won't be an issue at that point. we won't be under any windchill warning or advisories. snow moves in tomorrow evening, it moves out tuesday morning. by 10:00 a.m. even earlier. then for the rest of the week for the most part, it's just cold. high temperature only hover around 20 and 30 degrees. your impact forecast for tomorrow due to the frigid temperatures in the morning, the snow moving in in the afternoon, the weather is going to have a moderate to high impact on your

day. windchill warning is in effect for the counties here in gray. this includes parts of montgomery and loudoun counties. this is going to run until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. the counties here in blue, this includes the d.c. metro area the northern neck southern maryland prince william, fauquier counties. you're under a less serious windchill advisory until 10:00 a.m. it's cold for everybody, but if you're in the gray area you want to avoid being outdoors tomorrow morning. windchill temperature anywhere from 20 to five degrees below zero. here's the "feels-like temperature. if you're thinking of an early run, might want to do it indoors. four below in washington feeling like nine below in gaithersburg and leesburg. by 9:00 a.m.a, temperature feeling like they're around zero. atta 11:00 a.m. feeling like eight in washington 15 in frederick, and 9 in fredericksburg. after a brutal start, 9 degrees, wlou factor in the winds. we're going to set roar lows in spots tomorrow morning. we'll warm to 25 by the afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
