reports newly unsealed sisters case despite many years. this man admitted he left with the girls the day they disappeared. they detail the records from a police contact with welsh on april 1st, 1975, just days after d sheila and 10-year-old katherine disappeareded in which he get into a car. the story cites the affidavit as saying at that time detectives gave them a polygraph and he was being untruthful. he has two convictions from the 1990s for assaulting two 10-year-old girls. they interviewed him where he is serving a 30-year sentence. news 4 today.

to go on in the middle of the snow or not go on at all. everyone will start with snow sometime later this morning and everyone will see some accumulation of snow before we change over to rain. that won't be until after dark tonight. it will be a high impact on the weekend,y for saturday. the snow will stick immediately. we were 5 degrees yesterday morning. we made it into the low 20s yesterday. all the ground is frozen solid. even the potomac is frozen as well. they are dangerously cold. not as bad as yesterday, but 16 degrees outside with wind chills into the single digits. 9 in menassis and 12 in gaithersburg. it is bitter cold.

everything that comes in this morning will start as snow. only micking it into the low and mid-20s by noon and staying below freezing until after sundown tonight. this is all snu through at least 5:00 or 6:00. once the sun goes down it will mix with ice and change over to rain. this will end as rain for everyone sometime around this time tomorrow. the big picture shows winter storm warnings from the blue ridge westbound through maryland. the timing of the first flakes there is the leading edge and could see first flakes as early as about 9:45 and maybe around 9:00. this is coming in our direction and that is inside the welt way around 11:00 a.m. or sooner. there is the first flakes south and west of culpepper. it's racing in our direction.

hour by hour snow well to the west. snow in the metro by noon and all over the area through at least 4:00 or 5:00 and snow switching to sleet and ice after about 7:00 or 8:00. here's the timing on future weather. by 10:00 a.m., the snow flakes are coming in and by noon into prince georges. there is the beginning of the complications in the forecast. trying to change over to rain after 5:00 or 6:00 this evening. before the change over we should have several inches of snow. the american model is 3 inches to six inches. the noel model is one to five. a coating to at least an inch to the south. three to five in the metro and up to eight inches for the blue

over just before postal road that happened at about 2:30 this morning. unrecognizable. the fire and ems are working to find out what caused the accident. a seatbelt may have saved the person's life. we now know what sparked a huge house fire in montgomery county. someone left a cigarette in a potted plant and led to what you see here. the home is pleadly ruined. this is on yellowstone way. it took 75 firefighters to get everything under control. one firefighter was hurt but expected to be okay. >> a plea from the relatives of an i didn't have 85-year-old woman killed in a hit-and-run crash. someone hit her as she crossed the street in her home thursday night. that was back and forth in the area to do her shopping nearby.

her family is hoping the driver will turn themselves in. >> it's your responsibility for the accident or maybe something happened. just call the family. >> snow on the shoulder may have played a role but police don't know what kind of vehicle they are looking for. >> the reward is more than $20,000 for a murder from exact low a year ago. it happened on february 21st last yore. three men went into the grocery store off of route 1 and ran out moments later and that led to the murder of cocoa romero who was behind the counter. she left behind a baby girl who is just a-year-old now. they have a reward of $21,000 in this case.
