good evening. if you go to the mall in this country, you're stenlter of a new terror threat tonight. a group is posted a video threatening western malls, specifically the mall of america. it's a group that killed shoppers before in africa. it's not clear how far damage it could do here in the states. we begin our coverage with nbc's kristen welker tonight. good evening. >> reporter: good evening. in a joint statement released the fbi and department of homeland xurlt say there is no known specific or credible plot against the mall of america or any other shopping center. they alerted local authorities across the country about the video released by the terror group al shabab. at one of the world's busiest shopping centers in minnesota, there is extra security today. this after a video surfaced overnight showing al shabaab

calling for attacks against western malls including this one. >> i just think when it's a threat like that, everybody is on guard. >> they claimed responsibility for carrying out 20913 terrorist attack against the west gate mall in nairobi, ken yashgs a three day rain of terror where more than 60 people were killed. today the secretary of homeland security said law enforcement officials are investigating the latest threat and urge vigilence from the public. >> i would say if anyone is planning to go to the mall of america today this they have to be particularly careful. and as the statement you read indicates, there will be enhanced security there. >> reporter: later on "meet the press," stressed that people should still go shopping. >> i'm not telling people not to go to the mall. there needs to be an awareness. there needs tore be vej lins. >> reporter: the mall said we'll continue to monitor events with the help of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

. we're back with encouraging developments with those with peanut allergies. this skin patch is showing g results. nancy snyderman joins us. a lot of parents, myself included know how serious this allergy can be. what should we know? >> there is interesting stuff out. approximately three out of 500 people are allergic to peanuts. so this is a new critical trial. the peanut patch, clinical trial which has been conducted in several senters in this country and internationally. they took 221 people who have peanut allergies and they divided them into two groups. one group got a skin patch with a high dose of peanut protein and the other group got a small dose or nothing. and what they found was that
