one in prince george's county. he likely has more victims. these in2013. the man accused of jumping the white house fence and making it into the mansion is expected in court. 42-year-old omar gonzalez is due in court for a status hearing. he made it all the way to the east room before secret service agents tackled him. this is video of the day of the incident last fall. it lead to the resignation of the secret service director. gonzalez pleaded not guilty. today you'll notice crews begin their work on the third street tunnel project in downtown washington. crews will work on i-95 between d street and new york avenue northwest. it's part of the capital crossing project that will cover the tunnel and bring new buildings over it. crews will shut down the 395 southbound off ramp. you can expect lane closures overnight. take it slowly. fines double in work zones. we're working to find out

you can see where the suv fld landed. we're hearing from a woman who was walking to class when she heard that crash. police say a driver of an suv crashe two cars that hit a light pole causing the suv to flip. crushing one person who was walk on the sidewalk. it happened last night on d fourth street outside the government accountability office. an eye witness tells us she was about 20 feet from where the crash ended. >> just called my mom and told her what happened and i just feel very blessed. i walked by the sce pro 15 or 20 seconds before it happened. i could have been one of those pedestrians. the second pedestrian and the driver were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. >> dozens of school activities and resources on a list of possible cuts in prince william county schools. the school board said it's working with thef more $17 million this year because the county gave it less

15 before the hour. lawmakers up against a critical deadline after weeks of bitter fighting over immigration. funding for the homeland security hanging in the balance with only days to make a deal. nbc tracie potts live on the hill to talk about this. are they moving the ball down the court? >> they're trying. they tried last night and failed in the senate aaron, to separate the issues of homeland security funding and the president's immigration orders that many key republicans oppose. but that failed. so now it's up to plan b. today we're going to be watching the senate policy lunches.

traditional principals and others are paid more. in some parts of the country lawmakers are beginning to question whether charter schools need regulating. one of the oldest in d.c. was shut down for inappropriate use of money. had the charter revoked. a new report takes a look at the suspension of elementary school students. it showed that elementary children nationally lost 18 million days through suspension between 2011 and 2012. alexandria stood out for the decline during the same period for more than 16% to a little over 6%. maryland schools suspended almost 2% of elementary school students. in virginia almost 3% of elementary schools were reported. take a look at this video. a group of manatees b stuck in storm drains in florida. this is just south of cape

this morning we're heareowner who was robbed during a home invasion in montgomery county. one of the men charged in the case did some work in that home. dr. paul shore and his wife were home during the break in that happened last week in bethesda. the men went for a box filled with $10,000 in cash and rare coins. >> w heard a loud impact sound a bang followed by a crashing sound.

>> police say one of the men installed a heating system in the home. the two men are charged with home invasion assault, and theft. they are in jail. it's now 4:59. if you use the waze app to get around d.c. your life became easier. d.c. department of transportation will begin sharing data with the app. it allows users to post real time notes about hazards they see on the road that can mean accidents, construction and closed roads. all users see the updates and avoid the hazards. police are worried about the app because it points out where police are where they're stopping for traffic citations. construction crews will be making changes to the busiest intersections in our area. you won't be able to turn left tonight from rockville pike to west cedar lane. crews are building a tunnel under the northbound lanes there. the work and the change are expected to last until the end of next year. stay with us. news 4 today continues at 5:00
