i'm amelia segal. talking with melissa about trafc and being out in the storm truck driving all around here's how the weather will impact the roads on into the aften hours. for the most part the main road this point have been treated and are just wet, not slick. t some of the secondary roads still hav snow on them in spots, so you do want to be carefu that. sidewas right now are slushy. if they're not treated this aftern they'll become icy this evening and on into tomo evening. as far as snow totals go barbar not as much snow for

areas h of the district. the district is all about one to two inches. the most snow fell in parts of sout maryland and the nort neck areas around leonn up to four inches. going to have a ld the weekend coming up at 11:30. we're keeping a close eye on the roads in maryland. this is what it looked like a coup of hours ago on the morng rus in rockville. you can see, it wasn't too bad. we saw more snow in prince county. that's zachary kieh joins us from with a look at the condit now. what's it looking like? >> yeah barbara. you know here in prince county we got the brunt of it. we got here about 4:30 before the flakes started to come down. this is the result. if you take a peeko bran road there was still a lot of slush on the road. but there's still a lot of cleani up to do. some people just look miserable

it seems no one is escaping the winter weather. even the deep south is dealing with a deep freeze. this is northern georgia. parts of the region could see up to six inches of snow. in alabama, there could be recog snow totals as they expect to see ten inches or more. if that happens, it would break snow set back in the 1890s.

in pretty good shape t seeing any snow cover at all. we just have wet conditions. so everythin is a-okay on the major roads here in woodbridge this point. howeve this morning, that was not the case. take a look at this video from early this morning and you can t a feel for some of the condit. s started a little bit befo 4:00 this morning, and it came down steadily throught the morning. it didn't really taper off until about, oh i would say about 10:30, 11:00 in this area. and there was accumulation on the roads. even the roads that were treate and some of the turn lanes, used lanes. we did see some of the snow begig to accumulate. the plows got out there. they did their work. there were a couple of accide we encountered a gro of people. a number of differe cars that were traveling on this one ro down hill. several of them lost control and skidded off the road. in one case two of the cars actu collided and they had damage. so there were some treacherous cond there ts mornin the school syst in prince
