us the main concern is ice. >> you're right. the time frame in the midday afternoon and evening hours tomorrow. here's the latest. winter weather adviseory for everybody tomorrow throughout the day and it's going to run until 3:00 a.m. on monday. everybody here in purple under this winter weather advisory. so as snow arrives, mainly around the mid-morning hours, it will stick immediately because temperatures will be in the 20s. but the bigger concern with this system will be ice, especially freezing rain leading to slick roads and maybe power outages. a good idea to avoid travel tomorrow around the lunchtime, afternoon and evening hours, especially secondary roads lightly covered in ice. because of this moderate to high impact on the sunday. weather alert day and chuck will be in in the morning with updates. future weather at 10:00 a.m.

we're getting some new details of a wild crash in prince georges county. a van slammed into a home. now we have learned the driver is a suspect in an earlier hit and run and may have been under the influence. news 4's darcy spencer spoke to the people that live inside the home. what are they telling you, darcy? >> reporter: well chris, that's right. i was able to speak to several people who live here who were here this afternoon about 5:00 when this van came crashing in. they say they are very thankful and grateful no one was hurt in this incident. they say if it weren't for the pickup truck parked here in the driveway partially blocking the path of the van, this would have been much worse. now, what were you thinking when you saw this? >> i was in shock. like i department know what to do. >> reporter: brian was at home here with his family watching television when this red minivan slammed through the living room

wall. >> out of nowhere we just saw the door fly inside. >> reporter: his older brother was in the house with his wife and child and scrambled to get everyone out. >> i mean the door smashed in half. half the door's on one side. the other half by the entrance and bricks are all over the dining room the kitchen, couch is covered with glass and bricks. >> reporter: relatives tell me the truck parked in the driveway likely saved the lives of several family members in the home here. >> thank god, you know they're still alive and not for the truck parking out front, they wouldn't be here to tell us right now. >> reporter: police say news 4 the man behind the wheel hit a taxi cab and kept going, hit two parked cars and then the house. they say he was drinking. he is facing several charges. >> there would be a hit and run charges related traffic violations as well as the drunk

driving. >> reporter: meantime nearly a dozen family members are trying to figure out where they'll go. the house for now has been condemned. you're looking live at the house here. it is now been boarded up. the minivan we were talking about has been towed away. now, the driver had to be rescued from that minivan. he was taken to the hospital. we're told he is expected to be okay. police say he is in custody and facing serious charges. we're reporting live from prince georges county, darcy spencer, news 4. another scary scene in montgomery county when a minivan plowed into a bus stop. the minivan was on the side with the driver trapped inside. two people were sitting on a bench at the bus stop including a 18-year-old girl pinned underneath the van and broke both legs. witnesses heard the crash and

came running. >> came out. we saw this massive accident so you know it was pretty graphic once we came in. i saw the car tipped over on the side with the wheels facing this way and a lady trapped right here. people trying to help her. >> the driver is 63 years old. police say he had a medical emergency right before the crash. tonight police are reminding drivers move over when you see flashing lights and police activity on the side of the road. a fairfax county officer hurt today after someone slammed into the back of the cruiser. the officer helping a disabled driver in centerville and you can see how much damage was done. earlier this week two virginia state troopers were hurt in similar incidents. new at 1:001:00 the search for a teenage girl missing more than 24 hours from prince georges county. janae johnson is 16 and last time anyone saw her was friday afternoon in new carrollton.

wearing khakis pink sweatshirt and a peacoat. fortunately, another missing girl in prince georges county is located. 12-year-old is back home and tonight she is in good health. new details are emerging about the isis executioner known as jihadi john. tonight, we are getting a clearer picture of his life before he became the global face of isis. muhammad emwazi born in kuwait grew up in london where officials say he was part of a network of islamic extremists. britain was monitoring him. they tried to stop him from traveling overseas and failed and now they think he is in syria or iraq. officials believe he is responsible for executing at least four hostages inclueing james foley. it is called the most high profile assassination since the stalin era. a man was gunned down.

someone shot him four times in the back. and putin promised to find whoever is responsible. he was supposed to lead an opposition rally tomorrow demanding political reform and denouncing putin's ukraine policy. new tonight, president obama is threatening to veto a bill to make any nuclear deal with iran subject to congressional approval. a bipartisan group of senators introduced legislation empowering congress to squash any deal that rolls back sanctions on iran. the deadline for that deal with iran is march 31st. well gas prices have spiked more than a quarter in the past month. the developments at home and abroad are driving that increase. congress is getting slammed for putting thousands of workers' paychecks at risk and another dhs deadline is days away. a live look at the key bridge in arlington. it will look different when a new storm system arrives.

new at 11:00, one day after congress averted a budget catastrophe, the countdown clock is ticking for the department of homeland security. it may be a long week. dhs funding runs out friday night at midnight and only about two hours to spare before last night's midnight deadline hit, the house and senate passed a one-week extension. 230,000 federal workers with a reprieve and the larger political battle is still raging even within a fractured republican party. house republicans refused to give up what they see as a bargaining chip in the fight over president obama's executive orders on immigration.

and if congress can't find a compromise this week 30,000 federal workers will be furloughed and another 200,000 will be forced to work without a paycheck. kentucky senator rand paul wins the straw poll for the third year in a row. scott walker of wisconsin came in second and texas senator ted cruz third. some consider it an early look at grassroots support of a potential white house bid and this year the conference at national harbor. still ahead, when we expect sunday's storms to end and the impact it could have on the monday morning commute. >> probably end up maxing out 4,000 to 4,500 jobs. >> in on cannabis. why the local pot industry could be flush with job opportunities.

right now, only medical marijuana can be legally sold in the district but the local pot industry is growing. and today hundreds of people showed up for a cannabis conference in d.c. a group of comfy tree cannabis academy is hosting a conference and job expo this weekend. panelists are covering a number of issues including tax strategy policy and how to safely grow and harvest a plant. a man grew down from new york just to check out potential opportunities in the marijuana industry. >> i think it's great and seeing the companies, what they're doing and the people talking inside about what the potential is i think it's amazing. >> the expo continues tomorrow at the holiday inn at capitol hill.

we enjoyed it while it lasted but the days of cheap gas may be coming to an end. prices jumped 26 cents in the past month. started with a higher crude oil prices but now other factors are in play including labor strikes and an explosion in an exxonmobil oil refinery in california. but a bit of perspective. prices more than a dollar lower than a year ago. all right. another storm coming in. it feels like saying the same thing over again. this one's little different than before. >> this one i'm really focused on the ice. i think we could have some pretty impressive ice accumulation in the area across the afternoon and evening hours and somebody said on twitter, any amount of ice is not good for traveling. >> yeah. >> so if you can avoid traveling tomorrow around the midday afternoon and evening hours. that's the time period where we'll likely be dealing with mainly freezing rain. here's the weather headlines for tomorrow. another winter storm, focused heavily on that freezing rain.

it's march 1st tomorrow. we need it to start to feel and look like spring outside. and then another storm system is going to impact our area later in the day on tuesday. that continues to impact us wednesday, maybe even thursday. and overall for the upcoming week temperatures remain cold. wait until you see the 7-day. the impacts for tomorrow travel not good. if you have to get something done get it done in the morning as soon as you can in the morning hours, mainly scattered snow showers the possibility. have to get the outdoor run done earlier in the day. ice-covered sidewalks for the afternoon heading out and about if you can just stay in for your sunday. teens and 20s. 25 in washington. teens in the suburbs. what this means is cold tomorrow. so as soon as snow or wintry mix arrive arrives, it will stick immediately. 7:00 a.m. mainly dry. temperature around 24. 11:00 a.m. tracking snow should recalls, maybe already seeing

freezing rain and a little bit of sleet at that point. a temperature of 26. by 3:00 icy conditions across the area. 7:00 p.m. when the event starts to wind down. looking at freezing rain and rain as temperatures continue to warm to around 32 degrees. the snowfall forecast for tomorrow it is not a lot. about a dusting to maybe two inches. like i keep saying all about the ice. this is one computer model forecasting ice amounts around a tenth of an inch to a quarter of an inch of ice. getting that much ice, power outages are possible downed limbs are possible. of course very slick travel conditions are possible. chuck will be in tomorrow morning with updates and i'll be in tomorrow afternoon and then continue to update you on facebook and twitter throughout the day tomorrow. so 2:00 p.m. tracking freezing rain. 5:00 p.m. scattered freezing rain and then the chance of rain and freezing rain until 10:00. after that we should be dry but some delays are still possible. monday morning because of the ice. high temperature on monday of 46
