we have breaking news. one person is under arrest in connection with a series of shootings in maryland. the fbi believes the same person is involved. the latest happened at the national security agency in ft. meade. richard jordan is live along the bw parkway with overnight developments. >> reporter: the nsa headquarters is just around the corner from here under tight security as it always is around the clock. the nsa was just one of five targets in shall this shooting spree. let's go over all the places that were hit. the nsa yesterday just hours before that it was a landscaping vehicle that was targeted traveling on the icc. three other incidents all in very popular places outside the movie theater in columbia outside a walmart in landover and first shooting was just across the street from the arundel mills mall in a parking lot there. that's where the video today kacame

from. investigators got to work quickly especially after two people apparently shot at random. both men were hurt will, one grazed by a bullet, it got lodged in his clothes. other one had minor injuries from shattered glass. they're both doing okay. there has been a total of three victims connected to the shooting spree, but it was that video from that shopping mall area, it was a vehicle with the windows down on a very cold day and that looked suspicious to investigators. that was one big lead if the in the fbi overnight saying they have one person in custody, they believe that one person is connected to all five of these shootings. as to what the motive was, what the reason behind the shootings is that remains unclear. but for now it does appear to be random. reporting live this morning near ft. meade, richard jordan news 4. developing in the district this morning, police officers shot a man overnight who they

believed was involved in another shooting a few blocks away. according to police, the first shooting happened on new jersey avenue at m street northwest. a man was shot in the stomach there. on n street just a few blocks away officers say they saw the man they were looking for in that shooting, they say he pulled out a gun and they shot him. we're working to find out the condition of both victims right now. on the map you see here being you can see how close the shootings were to each other. today the justice department is expected to release its report on the ferguson missouri list department. it found officers discriminated against black people, that report comes six months after a white police officer shot and killed 18-year-old michael brown who was unarmed. in the two years before the shooting, in 88% of the cases when police used force, the suspect was black. 93% of the people arrested were also black. this afternoon prince george's county states attorney will be in annapolis to testify against four separate bills

dealing with marijuana use in the state. one of those bills includes the marijuana control and revenue act that was introduced last month. it would regulate and tax pot like alcohol and set rules for manufacturing and sales. new this morning, fairfax county's board of supervisors will earn more money. the board voted in favor of a pay raise. the next board will make $90,000 up from $75,000. the chairman will make $95,000. it seems support for the raise was luke warm though. a board member says you you shouldn't have to fund board salary increases. this comes as supervisors are considering increasing taxes by 16% over the next three years. right now it will cost you a little more if you take the dulles greenway to work. you'll have to pay an extra ten cents over trip as of today. peek hour peak hour that's $5.20. off peak, $4.30. the change because approved last year. i'm angie xwofgoff.

we're hearing from the u.s. coast guard, they are saying norfolk international airport has lost contact with a plane that was headed their way to land. this was about two miles from the airport. what we know at this point is that it was a cessna size plainne four people were on board. police and coast guard looking for this plane right now. they think that maybe it went down in the little creek harbor that's in the chesapeake bay. but fog, the weather, making this search very difficult. they are trying to work on getting a chopper to the scene to help with this search. we'll keep you posted. a soggy start to your wednesday as a line of showers rolls into the area right now. things will warm up a bit in the day ahead. meteorologist chuck bell has the high temperatures you'll see in your neighborhood. >> nearly two years after the deadly attack one of the men accused in the boston marathon bombing is going on trial. what we can expect in the

taking. jay gray joins us live from boston to tell us about the poll outcomes here. >> reporter: good morning. dzhokhar tsarnaev faces 30 charges here, 17 of those are punishable by the death penalty. and a lot of people will tell you that fact may be more of a focus than even guilt or innocence in this trial. let's start with opening statements. we'll hear first from the prosecution today. they will likely try to overwhelm the jury with just the magnitude of the attack here and the suffering that came as a result of that. tree people dead 16 maimed, more than 260 injured here. and so they will try to drive home just the horrific facts surrounding that case to the jury. for the defense the focus will be much different. again, they may be looking more at trying to avoid the death penalty than whether there will be guilt or innocence in this case. so the thought is that they will focus opening statements on

dzhokhar tsarnaev's brother tamerlan the older brother, that they say was the master mind behind the attack. that is what we expect this morning in a trial that will last three to four months here.behind the attack. that is what we expect this morn. back to you. >> jay, thank you. new this morning, take a look at the moments after scary landing on a turkish airline jet. the plane was landing in dense fog this morning in kathmandu when it skidded off a wet run way. you can see here the front landing gear collapsed. 238 people were on board at the time. some of the passengers had a few bumps and bruises. no one was seriously hurt. a montgomery county ambulance slid on some ice and hit two pedestrians that it was sent to help. the ambulance was heading to cameron hill court in silver spring to help an injured woman who had slipped on the ice. the woman along with a second person were both hit when the ambulance slid on the ice and the woman who initially fell was seriously hurt. the other person is expected to

be okay. in wake of the measles yoult break outbreak linked to disneyland, at least 14 states have introduced bills to toughen up immunization requirements. the cdc says at least 170 case this is year have been confirmed and a new poll says the majority of us are in favor of tougher immunization laws. angie goff has more from the live desk. yes, we just got he's new numbers in that show just how strongly you feel on this issue. take a look at this new quinnipiac poll just released. 70% of voters think children who have not got their standard shots should not be allowed to go to school or child care facilities. and 23% opposing that idea. now of now, the study saying there is no gender gap and feelings are strong among party and aenk groups. so 3:1 polls show people want their kids vaccinated before going to school but we both know regardless of what side of

we're hovering around 40 right now. we'll stay that this way for another couple hour. by noon mid-40s. and by midafternoon with showers moving back in after a few morning sprinkle, we'll be in the upper 40s. snow totals for tomorrow, by the time it all tapers off and ends in the evening, we could end up with 8 inches or more northern montgomery county, howard into frederick frederick, loudoun county shenandoah valley into the panhandle of west virginia. around the metro area here by suburbs, the district could get as much as 6 to 8 inches maybe 4 inch amounts for charles county calvert, st. mary's, northern part there. and much farther to the south and east just 2 to 4 inches for the northern neck. lower part of the eastern shore. so quite a potent snowstorm moving in tomorrow. after that we'll get sunshine back. friday staying below freezing. the snow won't be going anywhere, but it will be melting over the weekend near 40 saturday upper 40s on sunday. then monday and tuesday,
