virginia tech student fell over board from a cruise ship. and a controversial alcoholic drink that will soon hit store shelves but you won't find it in virginia. the secret service may have yet another embarrassing situation on it is hands. good evening. >> two senior agents are under investigation tonight for a crash on white house grounds after what may have been a night of drinking. jackie benson is live outside of the white house tonight with some details. jackie? >> reporter: tonight we've been told that president obama has been made aware of these allegations. the two agents are said to be senior members of the law enforcement agency that protects the president of the united states and his family. as first reported by "the washington post," the march 4th incident happened after a gathering at a downtown d.c. bar

to mark the retirement of a secret service spokesman ed donovan. they activated the flashing lights on a government car and showed their badges to get through an area that had been closed off due to us a special shous suspicious package. sources tell news4 that uniformed secret service officers at the barricade wanted to perform sobriety tests on the two but they were told to let them go home. the secret service said, "if misconduct is identified appropriate action will be taken based on established rules and regulations and director clancy has been briefed on these allegations and has been directed that this investigation be turned over to the department of homeland security of inspector general." the president is aware of the allegations and supports

director clancy's decision to turn the investigation over to the dhs inspector general for a thorough review. we don't know exactly where this gathering took place but i can tell you that a bar long-favored by the secret service for events like this is just a very short distance from here. live at the white house, jackie benson, back to you. all right. and developing tonight, we just confirmed with a source close to anthony brown that the former lieutenant governor will plan to run for donna edwards congressional seat. brown lost the governor's race to larry hogan last year. his announcement will come a day after former states attorney will run for the seat. about 20 demonstrators protested tonight outside the home in dallas texas, of a former student at the university of oklahoma.

parker rice is his name. he's one of the frat members of sigma alpha epsilon. rice says threatening calls to his family prompted them to leave. he is accused of stoking the fire of racial frustration in ferguson missouri. now the city's police chief is stepping down. ferguson's mayor announced the resignation of chief thomas jackson at a press conference this evening. >> after a lot of soul searching and it is very hard for him to leave and for us to have him leave, he felt this was the best way forward for not only the city but also for the men and women who served under him at the police department. >> jackson fought off previous calls for his resignation but decided it was best to leave after a justice department report found bias in the force. he said, "i'm confident the city

will pull through these trying times. the people are committed to ferguson." a couple new details in the arrest of two d.c. firefighters both of whom are charged with assaulting police officers. veteran firefighter chuck ryan started yelling at restaurant staff in maryland after he tried to leave without paying his bill. when the police arrived, officers say ryan got physical. he kicked an officer while being put in a cruiser. the other firefighter is richard kirkpatrick. he was pulled over after police say he ran a stop sign and almost hit two pedestrians. it happened yesterday. he's been accused of headbutting an officer while he was being handcuffed. checking on our weather, did you get outside today? it was beautiful. get ready because we have more rain on the way. doug? >> yes, wendy. yes. you're exactly right. we have rain on the way and

temperatures were absolutely gorgeous. high temperatures 67 degrees. that's tied for the second warmest day so far this year. last year on this day, 72 degrees. it doesn't look like we'll be hitting that number any time soon. high of 63 in fredericksburg. 6 it was beautiful everywhere. get ready for the weekend, you'll need the umbrellas. i'll tell you what it means for the all-important weekend coming up in a couple of minutes. new at 11:00, a virginia university has suspended one of its fraternities for a hazing incident involving a taser. the president announced that phi kappa psi fraternity will be suspended for three years after a taser was used on a pledge. no one was seriously hurt. a representative from the carnival cruise lines tells our

affiliate that video shows cameron smook climbing over a railing before he fell overboard. the u.s. coast guard called off his search near the bahamas today. he was from glenn allen. he had just accepted a job. 11 service members are now presumed dead. four army aviators along with seven marines were aboard a black hawk helicopter that crashed in florida during a training exercise last night. there was fog and that hammered part of the search through this morning. wreckage started washing ashore today. searchers also made the grim recovery of human remains along the shoreline. and tonight, prince william county police are looking for this guy. he is the second suspect wanted

in connection with stealing a woman's wallet from the scene of a car crash. that woman was hurt in that crash on saturday. it was on dumfries road. a man took a black bag from the car and it wallet and while the victim was in the hospital someone repeatedly used her credit card. police requested surveillance images and the men were identified by witnesses who saw them allegedly helping the woman at the crash scene. a man accused in a string of random shootings has been linked to nine different cases of shootings and among the target was a popular casino. investigators found several bullet holes at the maryland live casino. they believe that he may have done it. he's already been accused of shooting at a number of other locations, including the national security agency. nobody was hurt in any of the

shootings. court documents reveal that young told officers that he heard voices telling him to shoot. toll lanes are coming to i-66 inside the beltway but a plan to widen the road is what is causing controversy. that plan could mean as many as 35 homes and businesses around the beltway would have to go to make room for that extra lane. some residents say it feels like they are being punished so people can live farther out and can have a smoother commute. >> we made a conscious choice to live closer to tyson's corner to d.c. whatever you may have it where our jobs take us. we may have a smaller house but we chose not to live in that traffic. >> v-d.o.t. says the earliest any land would be taken is 2016. next at 11:00, it's marketed as alcohol on the go. >> coming up next, mixed drinks

down to 52 in fredericksburg. also a third of a mile visibility. stafford county, culpepper and orange county and charles county and into st. mary's. watch out for fog in this year. the rest of us in the d.c. area no fall concerns right now. it's dry and we're not going to see any rain. southern parts of our area now well down to the south and east and it continues to move down notice the clearing skies that we've got going on here. that's allowed the fog to form down towards the south. it will allow us to cool a little bit tonight. then we look down towards new orleans, houston, why are we looking down there? that is our next storm system that will ride up the same motion right on up into the area

on friday and into saturday. let's take you through future weather 6:00 a.m. tomorrow no problems. tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day. plenty of sunshine and nice and mild even though it's 10 degrees cooler. still a great day out there. friday morning, no problems there either. we start with sunshine on friday and then we see the clouds increase during the day. by 4:00 notice the rain coming in from the southwest and moving into the region by 9:00 10:00, 11:00. take the umbrella with you. you will definitely need that umbrella. some of the rain could come down heavily. friday into saturday we could see half an inch to an inch. tomorrow it's all about the sunshine and maybe even sunglasses. 60 in fredericksburg and 53 in gaithersburg and annapolis at about 51 degrees. get out and exercise. we haven't been able to do that lately. temperatures are rising quickly. 1:00 it's 53. high tomorrow 56. a great day.

no impact as far as the weather is concerned. that impact will be on the low side all day long. high temperatures cooler on friday with a 52-degree temperature. there's the rain on saturday. saturday will be a washout of a day, especially early. a high temperature of 61. then on sunday not bad. a little breezy and cool with a high of 54. next week monday tuesday and wednesday, looking pretty good. high temperatures in the 50-degree range and at least we're close to average. not a single day there do we go below freezing in the d.c. area. coming up, the caps. stay tuned.
