out of town. prince george's county overall no major issues. chopper 4 just got over this 270 south at father hurley again jammed 3 1/2 miles southbound. more on this at 6:11. today we're working to get details about a plea agreement expected today for the so-called white house fence jumper. omar gonzalez expected to take the plea this afternoon in federal court. attorneys have not said yet what the plea deal will entail. we'll learn more in court today. 6:03. today an american health care worker with ebola is heading to the national institutes of health in bethesda. megan mcgrath is live at nih this morning. so this is the second patient to be treated at nih so far for ebola? >> reporter: that's right.

n nih has a contagious disease unit one of a handful of units in the country. and they have had some success in the past. this new patient is the second person to be treated for ebola here at nih. the first was nurse nina pham. she contracted the virus at a dallas hospital while treating thomas duncan who fell ill shortly after coming here to the u.s.. now, pham was successfully treated here at nih. she was released last october. and is now ebola-free. as for the new patient, not a lot of information is being released at this point. we don't know their age or gender. we do know the patient is a health care worker who had been volunteering at an ebola treatment unit in sierra leone. of course that's an area that was hard hit by the ebola outbreak. the patient will be flown to our area in isolation on a special aircraft and is expected to

arrive at some point today. >> megan, thank you. tensions remain high in ferguson missouri this morning as the hunt for the person who sht two two police officers continue. protestors gathered again overnight outside the ferguson list department. the protests came on the heels of a candlelig. president obama says he's thankful the officers hurt in ferguson are expected to make a full recovery. on jimmy kimmel live, the president said whoever fired the shots should be punished p. he said those who commit acts of violence are criminals who do not expect the peaceful protes or the social change they're trying to bring about. today you can learn more about the budget in prince george's county. it will be revealed at 2:30 and

will be streamed live. foufr new schools are coming to d.c. next school year. kaya henderson made that announcement yesterday. the public school system plans to cut staff and spending at its central office and that will open up funding for the new schools and 200 new school based staff members. most will work in the city's high schools. about 150 volunteers will provide free dental care for low income virginians. this is mission of mercy. thorn virginia community college and northern virginia dental society teaming up for this event. about 800 people have made appointments for cleanings and other services. mission of mercy lasts from 7:00 to 5:00 p.m. both today and tomorrow. it's going to be held on the northern virginia community college medical education campus that is in springfield. today in montgomery county a big thank you to the men and women who keep our community safe. the valor awards are today at noon. the awards honor local leaders who have shown exception al bravery.

no delays on the virginia railway express. there were delays along the manassas line last night as crews were concerned that a train had hit something. a stretch of the track was closed just south of los angeles no issues today. 95 express lanes have been open for a few months and many of you are saying you're getting faster because of the lanes. 70% of drivers who use the lanes say they're worth the cost. a trip during rush hour can cost up to $8. more than 70% of drivers say they have fewer slow downs in the express lanes and save 20 minutes or no on their trip. we're coming up on 11 after 6:00. here is a live look outside for you. we're off to another chilly start believe it or not. >> tom kierein has your weather and traffic on the 1s.

a medical helicopter has crashed in oklahoma. this is near tulsa. directly east of oklahoma city. there is an effort under way now to see if there were any survivors. at least three people were believed to be on board. it's not sure if the team was on a medical call at the time. and definitely no answers as to why that helicopter fell from the sky very early this morning. the faa and ntsb on the way to

shooting may be linked to it an overnight homicide on jefferson street. 20-year-old chris adams was found dead in a car on jefferson around 2:00 this morning. he had been shot. adams was a graduate of wilson high school in northwest washington. the death toll from the cement factory collapse in bangladesh rose to at least seven today. about 150 people were inside the five story building when it came down yesterday. crews are still sifting through the debris for any survivors. players from the university of oklahoma football team are taking a stance against racism. a university fraternity was kicked off campus this week after video emerged showing members of that fraternity singing a racist chant. players walked silently on to the field arm in arm to show their solidarity. the football team released a statement saying their mis to a raise a rareness and end the culturveityexclusivity. and that fraternity has hired a lawyer and may sue the university. steven jones has been hired.

jones says he is outraged that the sae members have been branded as racists and bigots. today the business community in fairfax county is rallying to help a store owner whose shop was wrecked by vandals. postnet has been closed for a month after almost every single piece of equipment was broken. we're told repairs, replacements may cost up to $100,000 there. the owner james cudney says he appreciates the encouraging messages other business owners and customers painted on postnet's windows. cudney plans to reopen possibly as soon as may. 6:19 your time. metro's board has now suspended its search for a new general manager. three potential candidates recently withdrew their names. board members remain split over whether they should hire a transit expert financial expert or turnaround specialist. one board member tells news 4 the board plans to come to some agreement before relaunching the search. eight years after a

green. back to you. it is now 6:33. today the president is on the road heading to arizona. he will visit veterans affairs medical facility in phoenix. that center was ground zero in the scandal over waiting times for veterans to get medical help. he will get an update on changes. official repor p and many other centers were falsely reporting wait times. lawmakers are demanding answers as we learn more about the latest secret service mishap and some are calling for some officials to be fired. two senior agents are accused of crashing a car on white hous a night of drinking. the incident has again created concerns about secret service culture. a norfolk catholic church is refusing to participate in the st. patrick's day parade because governor mcauliffe is leading the procession. according to the "washington post," a reverend at the holy trinity catholic church wrote a

d.c. deliveries to happen overnight. this would only apply to food and supply deliveries for businesses. the city will offer financial incentives to companies that complete deliveries between 6:00 a.m.. it will target georgetown capitol hill and other high traffic areas in the district. and d.c. traffic cameras are bringing in millions of dollars in fines every year. a news 4 investigation has found that four out of more than 200 across the city were responsible for one-third of all tickets last year. the camera on branch avenue in southeast has issued northern 1n 11,000. new york avenue, more than 25,000 tickets. suitland parkway, more than 30,000 tickets. and the camera on k-street northwest, one camera has issued more than 41,000 tickets. we posted a map of the traffic cameras and how much hone money they have brought in on nbcwashington.com. a developing story in ferguson. the search is under way to find the gunman who opened fire on

if you live or drive in prince george's county you may soon get a smoother ride there. a county wide pothole blitz is under way now that the snow and ice are melting, the county says it's easier for crews to tackle the road problem. you can tell us about potholes you you find by tweeting us use #dc pothole. you can also call 311. that's the case both in prince george's county and d.c.. just need to do it between 7:00 and 7:00. in montgomery county, road crews have filled more than 2,000 potholes since january 1, but it seems for one that is

early this morning. we're at our below freezing. but no snow. under a clear sky. it's down to near freezing most of northern virginia, nearby suburbs. in washington near the bay, a little bit above freezing. radar scanning the sky, don't have any rain anywhere near by but we did have this moving greene here in southwestern virginia north carolina. this will stay well to our south here through the morning. but it's this area of rain in tennessee, kentucky up into the midwest and down toward atlanta, that is what will be tracking our way by this evening. the new timing on that coming in a little bit later maybe not until around 9:00 this evening. this area in green is the leading edge of the rain moving right into the metro area. then after that it just stays wet the rest of the night. the rain continues to fall. mostly light rain through the evening. and then by dawn maybe patchy dense fog to accompany the rain as it does move on through through the morning, we'll stay wet. and then the rain continues into the afternoon.
