the 30s to near 40. today in the upperer 50s to near 60 degrees. even mid 60s down to the south and west. cherry blossom festival nothing toer worry about. temperatures near 60. tomorrowle cooler with temperatures in the 50s. if you are in town for the festival you wille like it. seven-day forecast coming up. >> we'll check in with you then. we are following a developing story out of new york now. a devastating fire has killed seven children this morning. the victims are between 5 and 15. fire crews have been on the scene in brooklyner for nearly nine hours now. neighbors say they could hear the children's mother yelling for help as the flames spread. >> pushed upstairs. found the children in their bedrooms in the back of the home. this is the largest tragedy by fire this city has had in seven years. >> the fire began after a hot plate was left on in the kitchen. there weren't any smoke detectors or fire alarms inside the home.

the mother and her 15-year-old daughter are in creditle call condition after jumping from a second floor window. >> this is another story we continue to follow now. it is developing now. three tsa agents are recovering after being attacked inside the new orleans airport. police say 63-year-old richard white entered the security area armed with wasp spray and a machete. he sprayed two officers and then cut another officer with the machete. the suspect then chased a tsa officer through the security area before he was finally stopped. >> that officer fired three times. hitting the perpetrator once in the left chest, the left facial area, and the left thigh. >> the suspect was killed in the shooting. investigators are working to learn if white had any connection or grudge against the tsa or other airport personnel. >> developing out of canada thousand police investigating an officer-involved shooting in

ontario. one person dead two police officers hurt . a large response. at least 40 officers showed up at the scene. canadian police are calling it a serious incident that happened overnight. we are working to getter more information as they investigate. >> new information this morning on a frightening incident aboard a metro bus. a stray bullet hit a woman riding the bus. in the confusion, two men almost got away as victims. cameras on board the bus capper temperatured what happened. >> the bus is equipped with five cameras. they have determined that the two individuals, the two males transported were the two involved in the fight. >> wade patterson fired the gun that hit the bus passenger. he 's being charged with assault with a deadly weapon according to police. it is unknown what charges the second suspect will face. >> today you can learn more about the i-66 widening project and how it may affect families in fairfax county. v-dot will talk about adding

inappropriate relationships with at least four students since 2012. >> virginia's attorney general is calling for a database on college sexual assaults. a list of those expelled for sexual attacks should be created for every campus in virginia. this was just one of the recommendations stemming from are the task force on combatting campus sexual violence. they say knowing how many police officers and counselors per student would help with staffing. using smartphone apps and online pr portals was another idea put forward to make it easier to report sexual assaults. >> transit experts say d.c. streetcars have no fatal flaws. this comes despite months of crashes on the h street and benning road corridor. employees need more training especially those responsible for maintaining and operating streetcars. the city spent $200 million on the program. the district's transportation director told the washington post the city is committed to

in a few weeks they will be popping. there is a lot to do on saturdays. what's happening here is a step into spring fitness event happening every saturday during the festival. here are details about it as we hear from one of the festival are organizers. >> a couple hundred individuals who are so inclined to do activities such as yoga zumba, strength conditioning and toning exercises. every saturday for the festival. >> reporter: this starts at 10:00. there will be two separate classes, one at 10:00 with a yoga-based series of exercises. then zumba. lots of good music and lots to do. this has grown in popularity since it started. they used to do it at the grounds of the jefferson memorial. now to the sylvan theaterer because they have more space. it starts at 10:00. it's free and open to the

the first time a few months ago. >> i thought it was crazy. >> i was nervous. >> p i don't know if i'm ready. >> reporter: at the beginning it sounded like they might be right. but mr. davis thought the jingle project was important for a couple of reasons. >> i want to start young. teach them music is not only fun but important. i wanted to give them something they were proud of. >> reporter: they practiced for weeks and then played the jingle together. when they felt ready mr. davis hit the record button. ♪ >> reporter: still skeptical. >> when i play with my friends it feels better. >> after we practiced i felt good about trombone and how it sounded. >> reporter: with all the tracks recorded mr. davis pulled all the parts together.

end. >> preparing your wedding invite list is never easy. a man was with accidentally copied on an e-mail cane about a bachelor party in philly and he's going. >> joey dijulio read the first e-mail from the people in february. after weeks of reading the planning e-mails he tried to explain he had no clue who the groom was. this picture -- these pictures show dijulio on the left with the baby and the groom on the right. the bachelors and the groom decided that dijulio should come to the bachelor party. they even invited him to the wedding. dijulio started a go fund me fund raising page to make the trip to philly. as mentioned, hey, he's married, has a kid. he just couldn't afford to take a big trip for someone he didn't know. >> that's right. that page a little over $5,000. >> hopefully the left over money he'll give to the couple to use toward the honeymoon to italy.
