only recently came to the attention of university officials. a letter sent to the vice president for student affairs says by mutual consent between the student, his family and the university he will not return to campus. the e-mail referenced rush week when students pledge fraternities and sororityies. the student tells six recipients to ban certain fraternity activities and denounces consent to sexual activity. police want your help to find this 71-year-old woman, mary bean. police gave us this picture, but the problem here is this is the only picture they had to go on and it's been about 20 years since this was last updated. bean was last seen on emerson yesterday. she was last seen a blue deny him hat, gray wool jacket and jeans. if you think you've seen her, please call d.c. police. former congressman jesse

emergency, it could force a major change down the line. zachary kiesch live to explain everything that could happen. >> reporter: good morning. you know, when you've missed ten days of school i guess it's never too early to consider what will happen if you miss another one. fairfax county public school board will be here at jackson middle school today to discuss that scenario and how it kind pact the calendar going into next year. if they miss one more day of school whether it's because of weather or an emergency, it could move the start date a little earlier. again, this is something that is not necessarily on the table right now but if they his another day, it could be. in which case fairfax county could start the school year before labor day. it would allow them to begin on monday august 31 and end on thursday june 16. thousand right now fairfax county doesn't qualify for the waiver they

would have to miss 11 full school days do this. right now they're at the 10. and supposed to be a beautiful day today. probably would be the day that they miss another day but something they're considering. again, the school board would have to approve the new calendar. there is a new campaign to stop people who ride bus and train without paying. metro police is cracking down on fare evaders.agency is adding more metro police officers at popular rail stations and bus routes. they will issue warnings. then you could be fined up to $100 if you don't pay for your ticket. metro police issued about 3500 tickets for fare evasion last year alone. today we'll learn how prince george's county public schools plans to help your kids succeed over the next five years. the district is unveiling its strategic plan. a meeting at 7:00 tonight. we're told it will include actions to achieve a 90% or better graduation rate along with ways to improve a.c.t. and

program, you know it can make getting through secure a lot easier when you're there. that ram just hit a milestone. more than a million people are using it. but a major security break has some member of questioning whether that program is worth it. tracie potts joining us live from capitol hill where they're saying your security could be at risk. >> reporter: good morning. we learned from an inspector general's report that a felon, a convicted felon, convicted of murder and explosive charges apparently slipped through and got into the fast lane at the airport. this is someone who was a former member of a domestic terror group. according to that report the government only found out about it because of the whistleblower apparently someone a tsa worker at the airport recognized this this felon and told supervisors but because told to go ahead and let him through. pre-check is typically people who apply for it. you pay $85, they check out your background and then for five year you get to go through the lanes. but now lawmakers want to know

months ago. a person of interest is a woman who was in the hotel on the same night he died. you can see the woman in this surveillance video. mess his wife says if you know anything, please call d.c. police. fwloo a push to raise x taketaxes hey have hit a snag. a 15% property tax hike has been proposed. it comes to about $600 more per year for someone with a $400,000 home. but maryland senator anthony mousse has introduced a state bill that would significantly reduce the tax hike. the prince george's county council has the final say on this. they will vote on the matter in june. a well-known inn and restaurant has racked up thousands in taxes. the cozy restaurant in thurmont closed in june owing more than $150,000 in taxes. despite the closure, the business now owes almost $300,000.

almost #$200,000 of that is the debt and property tax. the owner says he plans to make good on the outstanding property taxes but the cozy inn will now close its doors. the 78-year-old owner cites his age as being the reason for the closing. and we're learning this morning that five girls have overdosed at a frederick county maryland high school. the sheriff says the girls took prescription drugs at oakdale high. four students were taken to the hospital, one was released to a participants. investigators say a 15-year-old student supplied the drugs. want to show you video causing a lot of buzz on social media. eleanor holmes norton having a rough time parking on capitol hill. it shows the congresswoman sort of awkwardly parking outside the cannon house office building. you can hear people who captured the video saying she hit one of the cars. we did reach out to her office. they tell us the owner of the closest car reported no damage. >> places to go people to see. a group of heros will be

another batch of showers and thundershowers here in north carolina. that will be passing, as well. south and east of the metro area. that will be later this morning maybe around noontime it will move in south and east of us. so we'll have most of the shower activity to the east of the i-95 corridor. then by noontime, some other showers moving through, but maybe a little closer to washington. generally dry in the metro area. this this evening we'll likely see rain and thunder in the panhandle of west have a vargs win chess tergs just west of luray. then after that, it's between 6:00 to 7:00 that that shower and thunderstorm activity will be moving closer. p but i don't anticipate any severe weather with these, just brief downpours, maybe a believe gust of wind, but no damaging winds. just thunder and lightning and showers coming on through. and then between 8:00 10:00, still showers moving through and around this time tomorrow

morning. wide look at things, no major problems right now. lots of movement. 95 at dale boulevard, northbound/southbound looking good. beltway at indian head highway rolling along nicely. did have construction earlier in that area. now that has moved out of the way. 95 in maryland bw parkway in and out of town everything is actually rolling along quite nicely there. and then 270 at montrose road, all of those folks are headed southbound and not having any issues at this point this morning. so pretty good news there. first 4 traffic is always working for you. in you you live in arlington you might have noticed some of the newest sidewalks already showing serious wear and tear. bits of debris breaking off the tops and ending up scattered in some spots. now, according to arl now.com, they're investigating why certain sidewalks are crumbling, looking in to whether it's a

and tell you when exactly in your day you'll need that umbrella bdand the short sleeves, 00. and the same storm system responsible for a series of dangerous tornados in oklahoma. at least one person has died. richard jordan has more from the live desk. >> path of destruction left behind by this dangerous storm system throughout oklahoma. specifically in the oklahoma city area we have video to show you some of the drivers caught the twister as it was moving toward them. many of them had to pull over taking shelter underneath an overpass as they recorded the video. look at those images there. one person is confirmed dead. one town hard hit is sands springs. a mobile home community was practically whipped out. several other people in other neighborhoods taking shelte
