l warm to 34 degrees. it's still cold. you want to have the warm jackets throughout the day today, but also keep the sunglasses handy. by 11:00 a.m. we're in the upper 30s. by noon temperatures at that point will still be around 39 degrees. yesterday our high temperature was only 42 in washington. many of the suburbs only warmed into the upper 30 sz. today it's going to be a little warmer. coming up in my full weather i'll let you know how warm it's going to be and when we finally break 60 degrees this week. >> bring on the warmth. new this morning, prince george's county police are investigating a murder in the langley park avenue of hyattsville. news 4's derrick ward is live there with the latest. >> reporter: we're in the 1400 block of kinawa street in langley park where police are responding to a homicide. this all started art 4:15 this morning. that's when police responded to an apartment at 1440 kinawa

where they found an adult male suffering from what they're describing as trauma to the body. that person was pronounced dead on the scene. we are expecting a briefing from prince george's county police public information officer to give us details. we don't have any information on the identity of the victim or whether or not there are any suspects. this remains an active crime scene at this time. it's at the bedford station apartments here in langley park. as i said we will be hearing from prince george's county police shortly. hopefully more details on this situation. live in langley park derrick ward news 4. just getting new information on a story we've been following all morning. we learned that someone did die in that crash. we brought it to you as breaking news. this happened around 4:00 this morning here on the inner loop of the belt way just before central avenue in prince george's county. taking a live look. traffic is moving again in the southbound lanes of the beltway.

it was shut down earlier. we're working to find out now more information on the crash from the maryland state police as well as the victim in that crash. >> a fire causes $75,000 worth of damage at a montgomery county townhouse. montgomery county fire sent us these photos. when they arrived flames were shooting out of the home. the fire started at the chimney at the home on stone hollow drive in germantown. there was an accident. a family of four has to find somewhere else to live. >> right now we're calling police to find out if a prince george's county road is still closed off. a man died after running into a tree here at this intersection of addison road and central avenue in capitol heights. you can see just how bad the crash was and the damage that it did to the car. police said a child was also in that car when it happened and he or she is in serious condition right now. >> right now crews are fixing a broken water main in silver spring that caused a bad crash overnight. five cars ran into each other on southbound georgia avenue at

plyers mill road. the road was icy. a usc film student is expected to live after crashing his car into a metro train in los angeles. ten people were hospitalized after yesterday morning's crash. investigators say the driver of a hyundai tried to cross the tracks and collided with the train. the train came off the tracks and pinned the car to a pole. the driver of the train was seriously hurt but is recovering at home. we now know the name of a man d.c. police shot during a chase. troy robber son and two other people according to police tried to rob someone friday night. an officer shot him while they were running away. police then arrested roberson and charged him with robbery and ad assaulting an officer. they arrested another person as well a minor. a third person got away. in alexandria there's a lasting memorial for police officers killed in the line of duty.

as long as we keep their memory alive, they truly do not die. >> there are benches with exec rahhive plaques that date back to 1823. they honored 18 police officers who died protecting the city. each officer has a different story like judy birney's father conrad. >> i was 12 years old when he died. today, 42 years after his death he is the most important person in my life. >> i hope this is always a place of reflection and we never police another in memorial at this location. >> she says the memorial gives her a reason to keep coming back to police headquarters. right now protesters are picketing outside a northern virginia church as people walk into sunday service. a young woman has come forward saying she was abused by leaders and members of calvary church.

at this point no charge haves been filed. loudoun county detectives are looking into several claims of verbal physical and sexual abuse. calvary temple church has not responded to the allegations. time is 9:05 on this sunday morning. here is what you need to know in the week ahead. tomorrow mayor bowser will announce her plans for affordable housing, small business and jobs. >> on tuesday mayor bowser will give her first state of the district address, will focus on creating pathways for middle class residents. it will happen at 6:30 in the evening. dramatic rescue. crews pull a man from a conveyor belt in prince george's county. >> we have a traffic alert to passion along to you. expect lane closures on the bay bridge. we'll let you know when that's going to happen.

we're going to find out how a man became stuck inside a conveyor belt in prince george's county. firefighters passed along these photos of the rescue in chapel oaks yesterday. the man was conscious and breathing as firefighters and ems personnel pulled him from the machine. he suffered traumatic injuries to both legs but is expected to live. a traffic alert to pass along. it's happening in the district. several streets around the national mall in front of the capitol will be closed off for the alum run. the race begins and ends on pennsylvania avenue and 12th street northwest. all streets should be back open by 3:00 this afternoon. you can hit some construction on the bay bridge in the week ahead. crews are inspecting that bridge and doing maintenance work all week long. several closures will happen between 10 xwlok at night and 5:00 the next morning. all that starts tonight.

off just after midnight tonight. clouds have moved into the area at that point. notice the chance of light showers over the panhandle of west virginia and far western maryland. there could be scattered showers overnight tonight and tomorrow morning, 6:00 a.m. future weather bringing rain through the d.c. metro area. that threat of rain quickly pushes off to the east. by 9:00 a.m. most of the area is dry with already seeing sunshine breaking out, getting into the afternoon. partly to mostly sunny skies. it's breezy and warmer. the school day forecast for the kids tomorrow showers are possible at the bus stop. by recess it should be dry. maybe just damp outside. dismissal, great day for the kids to enjoy fresh air, after school activities they'll be able to enjoy them outside. high temperature tomorrow of 64 degrees. that shower threat mainly around 7:00 a.m. by noon partly sunny skies, a temperature of 53. 7:00 p.m. tomorrow evening, a monday night.

it's nice outside with a temperature of 60 degrees. it will be breezy. again, high temperatures tomorrow around 64. for tuesday a high temperature of 60. clouds will slowly increase throughout the day on tuesday. so i want to show you this with future weather if we can go there. maybe we can't. clouds will increase throughout the day on tuesday as we get into the afternoon and evening hours, scattered showers are possible mainly during that tuesday evening commute. you do want to keep that in mind. that system on tuesday will try to bring our temperatures down on wednesday, a high temperature on wednesday of 56 degrees. plenty of sunshine though. looking forward to thursday. mostly sunny skies and a high temperature near 70 degrees. notice our average high this time of year is now 62. so we'll actually be above that toward the end of the week. for friday still mild with a high temperature of 69 but some showers are actually looking likely on friday. we still need to iron out the timing. next saturday there's the chance of showers as well. it's cooler with a high

4:00 p.m. our high temperature will hit about 49, hit at 5:00 this morning. there is rain in the forecast for tomorrow. i'll have the latest timing on that adam coming up. new this morning, halifax airport in snow scotia now reopened after a plane skidded off the runway there. it was coming in to land. there were more than 135 people on board and more than two dozen were hurt. they are expected to be okay. investigators say now they're working to find out if snowy weather or something else caused the crash. we now know the name of the man stabbed to death in leesburg. 22-year-old james seely was stabbed in the parking lot of 7-eleven. police took two people into custody. two were wanted on outstanding warrants in arlington and d.c. >> police say two stabbings in gaithersburg may have been related. in fact one may have been revenge for the other.

one may have been revenge for the other. the first stabbing happened thursday night on south frederick avenue and education boulevard in gaithersburg. that's right next to gaithersburg high school. they arrested rosa ma rear rez for the second attack. no one has been charged for the first one as of right now. a robbery alert to let your student at the university of maryland know about. police say a robbery near campus was not random. a group of masked men forced their way into an apartment on knox road. they then robbed the five students who lived there. the men had a knife and bb gun but didn't hurt the students. at least three people in critical condition during a spring break party at panama city floor shooting. a man from alabama opened fire but not sure why. he shot seven people and is facing seven counts of attempted murder now. time is running out for a deal on iran's nuclear program. u.s. officials say those talks

are a gut check moment. secretary of state john kerry is in switzerland trying to come up with a framework ahead of tuesday's deadline. he's been meeting with different heads of state for days. and there's still disagreement over research and sanctions relief. iran's foreign minister says both sides must show more flexibility. if an agreement is reached, it would last a minimum of ten years. new questions being raised in congress about hillary clinton's e-mails and her timing of the doigs to delete them. nbc's kristen walker has how this latest scanned ld could affect her potential presidential run. >> reporter: new revelations about hillary clinton's e-mails this weekend from the congressman who heads the special investigation into the attack against the u.s. consulate in benghazi. congressman trey gowdy says clinton deleted all her personal e-mails writing in a statement we learned from her attorney secretary clinton unilaterally decided to wipe her server clean and delete all e-mails.

gowdy demanded the e-mails as part of his investigation and admonished the former secretary of state on "meet the press" last sunday. >> we don't get to grade our own papers in live. she had a very unique arrangement with herself as it relates to public records. >> reporter: clinton has already turned over 55,000 pages of e-mails at the request of the state department which wanted to update its records. gowdy noted clinton purged her personal server after the request was made. friday a spokesperson for clinton said turning over those e-mails is in keeping with the letter of the law writing in a statement, secretary clinton has already turned her work e-mails over to the state department. clinton's use of the private e-mail account has complicated the rollout of her expected 2016 presidential run. earlier this week clinton tried to downplay the controversy. >> no more secrecy. no more zone of privacy. after all, what good did that do me? >> reporter: the question now, will the e-mail flack resonate

a new report in virginia says toxic emissions in the commonwealth are rising. according to the department of environmental quality, power plants and other operations released 36 million pounds of dangerous chemicals in 2013. that is up 10% from the year before and it is the first increase in virginia since nine years ago. pollutants include sulfuric acid ammonia and arsenic which

made its way into landfills and rivers but mostly they say, into the air. if one of your children plays contact sports we know the risk of concussion can be very very scary. >> the best way to treat one is identifying it past. nbc's peter alexander tells us about the new test to do just that used at every level of the game. >> reporter: when players collide, the impact can be just as severe as a 25 mile-an-hour car crash, leaving an athlete dazed or dizzy or worse. university suffered this hit. >> everything was spinning, things were blurry, saw stars. >> reporter: crucial to preventing more serious and long-term headnjuries is quickly and accurately assessing an athlete for a concussion right there on the spot and getting them out of the game. >> visual symptoms are incredibly common after a concussion. patients complain of

photosensitivity blurred vision, double vision and vertigo. >> researchers found this simple and inexpensive vision test where you're timed reading a jumble of numbers correctly assessed concussions in 75% of concussions. >> how long should it take. >> 37 seconds. sxwl after a concussion? >> 42 to 45 seconds. >> reporter: when combined with balance and thinking tests like what year is it, 97% accurate. the test could be a valuable tool, especially in youth sports where doctors are rarely on the sidelines. the university of delaware sees nearly 40 concussions a year. soccer standout emily martin says it's always in the back of her mind. >> when you watch a teammate go down after bumping heads. >> that's your first thought. >> concussion. >> uh-huh. >> reporter: the school recently joined the largest concussion study, a joint effort by the ncaa and department of defense and uses the vision test for all
