complex in fort meade. investigators are expected to release more details about two men who drove through the exit lanes and drove past the barriers to get inside. this animation show ss how they slammed the police car. there was a stolen gun and drugs inside the car. one of the suspects was killed. the other in critical condition right now. new this morning indiana's governor is yet again trying to clarify a controversial religious freedom law. some fear the law lets businesses discriminate against the gay community. many states have similar laws but often legal protections for the gay community. the governor penned an op-ed saying it lets citizens push back against overreach. >> proposal carries 24 -- [ cheers and applause ]

afternoon. 20 children and six staff members were killed in 2012. more background checks and a ban of some weapons are among the group's requests. to a developing story the justice department is appealing a judge's hold on president obama's executive action on immigration. now this was just filed ahead of the argument scheduled for next month. this after a federal judge in texas issued a hold on the action. that could spare as many as 5 million people from deportation in the u.s. illegally. a court hearing has been set for april 17th. today you can learn more about plans for the proposed plateau mick yard metro station. there's an open house at 5:00 p.m. the station would be added to the blue and yellow line between reagan nation and brad dock road station. it could open as soon as 2018.

today county executive will launch two transit screens. they will show real time information from buses, metro within and other transportation alternatives. it will happen at 11:00 this morning at the montgomery county executive office in rockville. holiday weekend approaches and effort is underway to keep you safe while you're visiting the popular d.c. attraction. volunteers in washington are working to keep you safe this easter hold day weekend at the zoo. last year a 14-year-old shot into a crowded area on easter monday just outside of the zoo and it wasn't the first easter monday violence that occurred at the zoo. in 2011 police told news 4 teen allegedly shot seven people near the entrance. >> there's a big concern for me because i feel like a place like the zoo is somewhere that our kids should be safe. >> the 55 volunteers aim to report any suspicious activity to police over the busy holiday weekend. a spokesperson from the national zoo was not able to comment when news 4 reached out to them with these safety concerns. it is deadline day. negotiators have until tonight to reach a deal announce a deal

in iran's nuclear program. tracie potts is on capitol hill with the latest from the secretary of state's meetings there. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we've seen him this morning sitting down with iran in the five other nations that are involved in this. is this nuclear deal going to happen? secretary of state john kerry didn't sound overly confident this morning. he said you'll have to see. they're trying to figure out how to put enough restrictions on iran enriching uranium which they claim is peaceful but lifting some of the sanctions. they want to get back in the oil game. to do so they have to get the confidence of the u.n. security council. the rest of the major nations involved. so negotiations are underway again, as of this morning, but the obama administration is saying it's about a 50/50 chance we're going to see a deal before the end of the day. >> tracie potts on capitol hill. thank you.

they left a baby alone in a home while they robbed someone. police arrested 18-year-old and 19-year-old johnson. they took a man's wallet and cell phone after he gave one of them a ride. the 17-year-old whose name hasn't been released was arrested as well. eight local area breast cancer organizations will receive more than $1.5 million in grants. the susan g komen washington, d.c. race for the cure will make the official announcement tonight. it takes place at the smith center for the healing and arts. d.c. kicks off event the leading up to the race for the cure on may 9th at the national mall. the grants will be distribute here in washington northern prince george's. growing up poor may affect the physical structure of your brain. a new study by columbia university. children children. >> more than 1,000 teens were compared from nine different cities.
