near eastern avenue and martin luther king junior highway. derrick ward is at the scene. >> reporter: we can tell you that this is a massive crime scene. want to step out of the way and let take you a look. this happened sometime around midnight. take look at video from earlier in this incident. we're told that this may indeed be a homicide. the crime scene seems to stretch from this discount mart here at the intersection of eastern and hlk all the way over to the housing complex just adjacent to it. this is on the d.c. line but it is a prince george's county incident. we hope to bring you more details as it becomes veil. the street was closed. it just reopened eastern avenue heading west toward the district. again, massive crime scene and still under investigation. we'll try to have details for

you as they become available. live at the d.c. line back to you. it's now 5:03. today family and friends will remember a spotsylvania county teen aenlger who erwho died in a plane crash. ryan mccall was learn to go fly when he crashed. he was 16. mccall's family is holding a funeral service at 6:00 tonight and he will be buried tomorrow morning. a racially and sexually charged e-mail is the focus of an open forum. it begins at 3:00 p.m.. university staff and faculty will be there as well. the forum is in reaction to an e-mail sent by a former kappa sigma fraternity member. it referenced sexually assaulting women and contained racial slurs. we're also learning the student did not violate any school policies. an investigation found most of the e-mails kept was protected by the first amendment. that's according to an e-mail from university president wallace lowe. it was obtained by the campus

newspaper the diamond back. the author of the e-mail has released a statement saying in part i know there is no way to erase this incident or the agony it has caused, but i will strive to never use such language again. the university of virginia's campus newspaper is apologizing this morning for its april fools' prank. the cavalier daily published a story with the headline a.b.c. agents tackle native american student. headline was a reference to this recent arrest of a uva student outside a bar. martese johnson was left bloodied after the arrest and it led to protests. the cavalier published an apology reading in part the april fools's edition is meant to start a conversation and provide satirical commentary. the edition is the not hent to come at the experience of our peers. an intruder was no match for a virginia judge whose home he was found inside.

kenya. and the death toll has climbed to 15 up from two. all of this happening at garissa university college near the somali border. you see police trying to surrounds the college campus. the gunman stormed the campus shootingindiscriminately. it's possible the attackers have taken hostages. 30 people are suffering gunshot wounds. we'll stay on top of the developing story. it's 5:17 now. it's being called one of the biggest drug busts in loudoun county history and this morning deputies say that they are not done making arrests. narcotics detectives nabbed two alleged dealers tuesday. the sheriff says one was so desperate, he tried to escape by jumping from a third floor window. dogs helped to track him down in the woods. deputies found 2 1/2 pounds of powdered cocaine, kilo of crack

prevention part of the curriculum. today's protests will be at 1:00 p.m. on campus. the group american university students against sexual violence says the school is not doing enough to protect students. american university says the student group has refused to participate in campus efforts to address sex assaults. a billion dollar lawsuit has been filed against jons hop kens hospital and university. it alleges that hospital continues conducted human experiments in guatemala in the 1940s. victims and their peoples say hopkins doctors and the u.s. government infected children psychiatric patients and prison inmates with sexually transmitted diseases. many were never treated. the study was to test whether penicillin could treat stds. >> there is no evidence that i've seen that sets forth the scope of what was going to happen down in guatemala. >> which clearly show not only did they know about it, but they kept it quiet. >> hopkins says its doctors

wildfires. we have winds gusting to around 25 miles per hour. they're generally calm now and temperatures are generally above freezing. near 40 nearby suburbs. a few spots have dipped near freezing including frederick and manassas and warrenton. also martinsburg. and we'll have lots of sunshine today. temperature temperatures will be hovering near 40 through 8:00 a.m.. by noon should be hitting the low 60s. so a dramatic warming. and then peaking near 70 by late afternoon with that blustery wind moving on through and increasing clouds. those clouds will be ahead of a cool front that will be coming through this time tomorrow morning. we'll have showers away all this area in green between 6:00 to 7:00 a.m.. so some of the roads will be wet for the morning commute. may settle down a bit midday. but then thundershowers rolling through these areas in yellow and orange away the pennsylvania border by 3:00 p.m.. then they get closer to the metro area by 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.. then they track off to the east.

stories through good morning. i'm eun yang. >> and i'm gilchrist. it is 5:30. want to get you up to speed on the forecast for today. pretty nice one. >> looking like spring with the flowers coming out and it will deal like this afternoon. look at the highs expected around the metro area. prince george's county montgomery fairfax county upper 60s to around 70. across northern virginia counties should be reaching upper 60s to near 70. maybe even low 70s in spotsylvania and stafford and fauquier culpeper down to orange. and to the south, southern maryland around the bay, a breeze off the bay will be cooler but inland away from the water, upper 60s to near 70 degrees. kopts counties near the pennsylvania border blustery winds. upper 60s there. shenandoah valley in to the mountains there should be in the upper 60s to around 70 as well. so a delightful spring day coming up. a look at your bus stop forecast next weather and traffic on the 1s at 5:41.

update on this crash here icc again westbound just past georgia avenue just spoke with police they're saying they are still looking for that crash. they got a call a little bit ago saying it's with injury. they cannot find it. so hopefully it was a bad call and everybody can move on. 270 south at old hundred road you can see a little slow around the curve there, but again that's pretty typical especially for this time of the morning. beltway the kenilworth rolling nicely. in prince george's county overall, you can see everything flowing in and out of town fine. nice and green. not much road work to speak of. taking a look at 95 in virginia, authority bound no problems until you hit dale city. 25 miles per hour. and then after dale city, southbound had some earlier road work that should be out of the way now, but you are a little slow there as you're passing 234. back with travel times in ten minutes. it's 5:32. and we're working to learn more

about the woman who is accused of murdering a local attorney in a d.c. hotel room. surveillance cameras helped investigators crack the case. they captured this woman at the donovan hotel the night of the crime. her name is jamyra gallmon. she's 21. investigators arrested her last night on 14th street not far from the hotel. in february david messerschmitt was found stabbed to death in his room. sources tell news 4 that gallmon was there for a sexual encounter with the lawyer. detectives used online communications between the two to track her down. time is running out for law maybers s er make iers in indiana trying to rework the freedom of religious law. in arkansas governor hutchinson says he will not sign a similar bill without some big changes.

court yesterday, a judge dismissed charges against morrissey which accused him of forging documents related to his previous plea. the death of a nine month old in leesburg has been ruled a homicide. devyn ellis died lasting on the. her appear says she went limp while he was feeding her. yesterday the medical examiner said the infant died of blunt force trauma to the head. no one has been charged. the father is barred from seeing a new child he had with the mother just last week. the post al service says it is making changes. last month a woman was hit by a car while crossing the street to get her mail. she died and now the post office says everyone on frederick road will have to move their mail boxes to the side of the street they live on. mail carriers will also change their routes in response to this action. didn't leave your purse in the car while running errands because a group of thieves is waiting to steal it.

co-pilot suspect the of purpose pli crashing the plane into the french alps may have lied to his doctors. according to the "bild," lubitz was spoeged edsupposed to be on medical leave for an eye condition but he was still flying commercial planes. yesterday they began the process of identifying the victims in the germanwings crash. all 150 people on board were killed. we're watching the wires to find out the latest information about a soldier now in police custody at ft. hood. they say he made a, quote, verbal threat yesterday. today marks one year since a deadly shooting at ft. hood.
