police are out here making sure everything stays safe. but they will be out here to get it fixed at about 7:00 this morning. >> zachary kiesch thank you, sir. this is new video of a coast guard rescue that was lost at sea for months. two months actually. lewis skrorouis jordan is pulled from a cargo ship that found him in the water. he's said to be doing fine this morning p jordan disappeared in january. crews searched for him and then they had to stop. yesterday he was spotted sitting on his capsized boat 200 miles off the coast of north carolina, 66 days at sea. he is back on dry land now and finally reunited with his family. >> i feel policed and i feel full of love. grateful to be with my family and with people again. i feel grateful to have the

opportunity to live. >> just amazing. jordan's 35-the foot sailboat had capsized. we'll talk to tom costello at 6:45 about what mr. jordan did to survive. today family and friends will attend the funeral of a spotsylvania county teen who died in a plane crash. ryan mccall will be buried at oak hill cemetery in frederickburg. at the controls when it crashed. investigators say two witnesses reported seeing a trail of smoke from the engine just before the plane fell to the ground in orange county. the flight school owner says mccall appeared to make a left turn earlier than usual. mccall was flying on his first solo trip involving a stop and return flight. hk mccall had just over 30 hours of flight experience. d.c. officials will announce they plan to he said a policy of routinely shackling juveniles appearing in court.

here at metro, our first priority is your safety, so let's discuss what you should do if there's an emergency involving fire or smoke. if you're in a station, move away from the platform and begin walking to the nearest exit. if you're on a train, notify the operator using the intercom located at either end of the railcar. follow the operator's instructions and remain calm. unless you are in immediate danger you are safest staying inside the train. if necessary, when the train is stopped, you can use the end doors to move to another car in the train. if you must evacuate, emergency exits are located in the center of each railcar. lift the release cover - a wire will break away, pull down the red handle and slide the left door panel open. watch your step on the emergency walkway, and never touch the lower part of the railcar, which could be electrified.

former george mason university student is heading to federal court to clear listhis name. he says the incident reported by a long term girlfriend was rough sex and role play not sexual assault. today a court will decide whether the student can file anonymously. the university is demanding that the ex-student identified himself publicly if he wants to pursue the claims. you will learn more this morning this week about a lingering controversy at uva. columbia journalism school will release a report on a rolling sewn magazine article about an alleged gang rape. inside an apartment and the man showed signs of being stabbed. investigators are looking in to the relationship between the suspect and victim, but there does not appear to be a threat to the public. two hikers are safe after being stranded. this aped near one of the scenic overlooks just off the george washington parkway. rescue crews found two people stuck on rocks would haveabove the potomac. the response caused major backups on the northbound side of the parkway. arlington appear says a tow truck waited for him to go inside a store and then almost drove away with his kids inside his car. max daout claims he was the victim of predatory towing. daout says he went into ask about medicine for his so that.n. his 17-year-old daughter stayed in the car with her brother. >> the car started to lift up. and i was like scared.

remarkable story. good morning. we talked to him after midnight here at general hospital. he walked off that coast guard hospital helicopter after having been stranded at sea for more than two months. late january, he took his boat out on the river down in north carolina. he thought i'll go closer to the ocean, i need to get better fishing. but he got out on the ocean and suddenly he got capsized multiple times. his mast broke and he started drifting. he drifted 200 miles out into the atlantic ocean until yesterday, he was rescued by a german freighter that was coming by. i talked to him late last night, actually early this morning, and asked him what are his thoughts now that he's finally back on dry land. >> i feel grateful to have the opportunity to live to do what i want to do, which is to produce some suit of fruit in my life something valuability something to make the world a better

place. >> reporter: louis jordan survived because he rationed his food and then he'd collect fish and eat them raw. he also says he tried to collect rainwater and drink the rainwater. but thankfully because he had a top on the boat a roof on the boat i know the boater community will be laughing at my terminology, but because he had that he was alble to get away from the elements. he was out in the ocean unable to move in february and march, imagine the weather he survived. he said he was cold, wet but very grateful that he's alive. we'll have a lot more of his story on the "today" show. >> what a fantastic tale. we'll look forward to that. thanks, tom. molette green at the live desk. new this morning, survivors say christians were the target in kenya in a well planned attack. just this morning, a 21-year-old recovering from a gunshot wound
