"rolling stone" published an article detailing a gang rape on campus told by a student named jackie. an independent review found that "rolling stone" failed in its reporting, editing, editorial supervision and fact checking. the columbia university school of journalism issued the record and said the failure was avoidable. >> definitely important to focus on the issue at hand and not so much that the journalism was at fault. there are women being raped all around the world, so we should focus on that serious issue. p. >> teresa sullivan issued a statement saying irresponsible journalism up justly damaged reputations. last year the charlottesville police department said there was no evidence to support criminal charges in this case. and at the same time this scathing report was released "rolling stone" issued an mole gi and retracted the story. the magazine's managing editor said in a statement, quote, we would like to apologize to our readers and to all of those who were damaged by our story.

welcome back at 5:15. a developing story. police in indianapolis are searching for the gunman who shot five people inside a townhouse. the shooting happened around 9:30 last night. police say three men shot two women and three young children ages 6, 3 and 6 months. all of the victims are listed in serious condition at the hospital. police believe the suspects knew the victims and were invited inside. so far police have not released a motive. breaking news kenya's air

more fighting in yemen this morning ans'sd its's creating a limit on essential resewerses for people who live this. there are water and electricity shortages now. you can see people gathering around a water distribution. more than 500 people have been killed in that fighting so far. we're working to learn are more about an accident that shut down part of a busy street in the district. you may have been sitting in this traffic last night on north capitol street mere michigan avenue in northeast. we do know three cars were involved. one looked like it had been rear ended and two suvs had to be towed away. germantown road in montgomery county is back open this morning. it was shut down most of yesterday. power crews spent the day fixing power lines that came down when a car crashed into a utility pole. expansion and other improvements will likely remain on hold until metro management can prove itself. that's according to interviews with transportation officials.

the storm team 4 radar is scanning our sky, no rain anywhere in the vicinity. so enjoy this while you can because we'll have a wet pattern commencing tomorrow. right now though, a chill in the air. we're in the 40s in the nearby suburbs, montgomery prince george's county counties. in the 40s around the chesapeake bay. to our west shenandoah valley most locations there low to mid-40s. a few spots in the 30s like luray and stanton. dry pavement for the morning commute. temperatures in the 40s to near 50. then for the afternoon commute, beautiful, dry roads temperatures in the low to mid-70s during the afternoon. we'll get more pollen though, swirling in the air. a little bit of a breeze this afternoon, as well. the tree pollen is climbing. then overnight tonight down to the 50s with increasing clouds tomorrow morning, might have a sprinkle then a greater chance of some showers in the afternoon on tuesday. highs reaching low 70s again tomorrow. but after that turning cooler on

presented the weapon. the officer shot the suspect once he remains in critical condition. officers went to the house on crofton on saturday to check on the man's welfare. because a relative was worried about him. and today police in montgomery county are trying to figure out why an underage girl stabbed a man on a metrobus. this happened sunday. the pus wasbus was at blair mill road. list say the girl knows the man and admitted to stabbing him with a knife after he alledgedly assaulted her. he's expected on be okay. a warning now for students at the university of maryland this morning. a student was almost robbed yesterday inside campus housing on route 1. the student was walking in a hallway when six to eight people approached him. one of them grabbed the student around the waist and demanded his rot. another person intervened and everyone ran away. new questions over a $118,000 body scanner at the
