three fighting for their lives right now. one person pronounced dead at the scene. this is on edmonston road just before it turns in to old baltimore pike. prince george's county investigators on the scene along with other emergency personnel and melissa mollet keeping you updated on the traffic impact. >> so again, he hadedmonston where it turns in to old walt more pigbaltimore pike. so that area is shut down and we're getting slowdowns. you want to take route 1 instead. all lanes will blocked there and they will be for some time because of this fatal crash investigation. 95 north, we're slow at dale boulevard. crash off to the right side of the roadway. 95 in maryland bw parkway in and out of town, all of that looking pretty good.

sullivan says it unjustly damaged reputations. last year the last week charlottesville police said there was no evidence to support the criminal charges. and also "rolling stone" issued an apology and retracted the story. managing editor said in a statement, quote we would like to apologize to our readers and to all of those who were damaged by our story and the ensueing fallout including members of the guy cam pa sigh phi kappa psi fraternity and administrators and students. we have more on the nbc washington app. happening today, we expect a man to be formally charged. hong young heads to the courtroom. he's being a beingaccused in a series of shots that took place over a week in february and march. they found a semiautomatic happened gun and shell casings in his lincoln. they matched the shots fired sgintss.

those shootings happened in an a run sdel anne arundel are howard and prince george's county. zoo officials have even acted sweeping new measures for busy days like's ter monday easter monday, this is in part because of several past incidents. new measures could include bag checks and metal detectors. a man remains in critical complain after a fire at a prince george's county home. the man in his 50s was found inside the home with life threatening burns. fire crews were called to the home around 9 ong last knightnight. the man's wife was able to put the fire out before crews arrived. even if you can't go today, there is a date you should circle on your calendar three years from now. the nationals are reportedly hosting the mlb all-star game in 2018. the last time washington hosted an all-star game was 45 years

shot five people inside a townhouse. police say three men shot two women and three young children ages 6, 3 and 6 months. all of these victims are listed in serious condition right now. police believe the suspects knew the victims and were invited this to that home last night. so far police have not released a motive here. p. the man accused of killing three north carolina college students is set to appear in court for a appearing to determine whether he could face the death penalty. the victim's family members say they were targeted because they were muslim. craig hickss is facing first-degree murder for killing the students in february. police say hicks and the victims had a long running dispute over parking spaces. this morning we're learning new information about the deadly attack in kenya. police waited for seven hours before spending a tactical team into garissa college. 148 people were killed when

gunman stormed the school. once the unit went in it took only 30 minutes to kill the four al shabaab gunmen. kenya's government says it will pay hospital and funeral expenses for all of the victims. new information about a deadly wildfire in arizona that claimed the lives of nearly two dozen firefighters. the yarnell hill fire burned 8,000 acres, destroyed 114 structures and killed 19 firefighters. the crew's lone survivor says granite mountain hot shots were ordered to leave their safe zone during a radio call between their supervisor and the chief deputy. that revelation could lead to a wrongful death lawsuit filed by some of the surviving family members. today police are trying to figure out why an underage girl stabbed a man on metrobus on sunday. that bus was in silver spring at blair mill road. police say the girl knows the man. she admitted to stabbing him with a knife after he allegedly assaulted her. he was taken to the hospital but

is expected to be okay. p. a warning for students at the university of hear lapdfof maryland. a student was almost robbed yesterday. he was walking in a hallway when six to eight people came up to him, one grabbed the student around his waist and demanded his problem. another person intervened and the group ran away. p. we're learning buying bret much milk online may be harmful for your baby. the market is booming as many mothers who can't produce enough turn to the online market. but the milk you buy online may not be 100% genuine as the market is largely unregulated. doctors at the nationwide children's hospital in columbus, ohio analyzed over 100 samples bought online. they found that 10% contain cow's milk which can be harmful to a child that has an intolerance to. and in other samples, they found dangerous bacteria and evidence those donating the milk may be smokes. new questions about a

$118,000 body scanner at the frederick county sheriff's office. the frederick news post reports the seller paid to send two members of the department to mexico to see it first. when the office bought the scanner, the sheriff said they cooperate find any competing offers. a rival company then said it could sell them one for $9,000 less. another big name in the gop set to declare his candidacy for the president of the united states. kentucky senator rand paul is expected to announce that is he running tomorrow. he would be the second person to declare after senator ted cruz did two weeks ago. right now the pentagon is working to integrate women into all positions in the military. but not everyone thinks that's okay.s says surveys show many men in special operations don't believe women can physically or mentally do the same job. researchers also found some women were against the same thing. besides the physical ability people surveyed said they were concerned about sexual assault and harassment.

trial in the case against dzhokhar tsarnaev. it is the final chance for both sides to connect with the jury here. tsarnaev's attorneys have never denied his involvement in the bombing itself but they say he participated in that plot after falling under the influence of his older brother, tamerlan. tamerlan died in a shoot-out with police. it is a big week in another boston area courtroom. a former nfl player expected to take the stand. aaron hernandez, former patriot star faces first-degree murder and weapons charges. he's accused of killing odin lloyd who was dating the sister of hernandez's fiance. and we're learning that a police officer who shot a man in anne arundel county is now on administrative leave. initially investigators told news 4 the officer shot the suspect after he refused orders to put down his rifle. now they say he simply, quote, presented the weapon. the officer shot the suspect once he remains in critical condition. officers went to the house in
