i'm storm team 4 meteorologist tom kierein. and begin with a developing story in beltsville pap deadly crash happened shortly before 5:00 this morning along edmonston road near baltimore pike. we have more. >> reporter: where they have once again temporarily closed edmonston road while the fire crews work to wash down the road and take care of all of that blood and debris. that goes to show you just how violent this crash was. let me show what you it looked like earlier today. according to prince george's county police, they say there was a car that was heading northbound here on edmonston road for some reason crossed over the line and hit head-first into a trash truck that was going southbound at the tile. this happened around 4:30 in the morning. there were five people inside of that impala that hit the trash truck and one of the people

inside of that impala died. that was the describer, who was behind the wheel of the car, and it also left the driver of that trash truck in serious and critical condition. prince george's county police had this to say about the condition of the folks involved in this crash. >> the driver of the impala was pronounced dead on-scene. there were the four other occupants, two were transported in critical condition. two other occupants in the dhar sustained non-life-threatens injuries and released on-scene. the describe are of the trash truck, a man, adult male he was transported in critical condition. >> reporter: i talked to a witness who ran to the scene and told me there were people actually ejected from the, their vehicle. when this accident happened. the crash evidently, the impact was so strong it shook some of the houses nearby. people heard it sounded like an explosion. and as you can see, cleanup still under way here. we expect this road to be opened

up again in just a few minutes. reporting lifk in beltsville tracee wilkins, back to you. >> thank you. also developing now one person dead another in critical condition after a fire broke out in a home on kenyon street in northwest d.c. news 4 megan mcgrath live at the scene with more on what neighbors tried to do to alert the folks inside. >> reporter: melissa, you can see behind me we still have fire truck on the scene as well as some road closures in the area. rescue cpr on the scene but we've learned the resident has died. a second person trapped in the home is in critical condition fighting for their life. the fire started before 6:30 this morning in the 1000 block of kenyon street in northwest. neighbors realized what was going on and say they began pounding on the doors yelling for everyone to get out of the burning home. one neighbor said people even threw rocks at the upstairs windows just in case the people were upstairs asleep in that upper room. they say the flames and the smoke, though were just too

a developing story right now. police in indianapolis are searching for the gunman who sought shot five people inside a town home. two women and three young children age 6, 3 and 6 months. all victims listed in serious condition at the hospital. police believe the suspects knew the victims and were actually invited inside the home. so far police have not released a motive. now this morning, kenya's air force bombed two terror

targets in somalia. the sites were al shabaab training camps. al shabaab claimed responsibility for last week's shooting at garissa college leaving 140 dead. police waited seven hours, we're learning before sending a tactical unit to the school. a kenyan newspaper says once the unit went in it took only 30 minutes to kill the four al shabaab gunmen. kenya's government says it will pay hospital and funeral bills for all victims. right now closing arguments in the boston marathon bombing trial are under way. dzhokhar tsarnaev's attorney are trying to spare him the death penalty. never denied his involvement in the bombing itself but say he participated in the plot after falling under the influence of his brother tamerlan. the jury could deliberater by later today. there could about verdict in a matter of a few days. we'll hear from jay gray later in the show. he's in boston this morning. and another big trial in the

welcome back. a big day for the jury in the boston bombing trial in the case against dzhokhar tsarnaev. jay gray in boston for us this morning. >> reporter: in a trial that began with its lawyers saying he did it guilt or innocent would not seem to be the question here. >> of course they're going to find him guilty of virtually every count here. this is all a setup for the main event, and the main event is die or live. >> reporter: dzhokhar tsarnaev face as total of 30 counts. 17 that carry the death penalty. his defense team is clearly focused on what most believe will be the key to this case. the penalty phase. to this point they've called just four witnesses and rarely cross-examined the 92 who testified for the prosecution. but that's expected to change if for as most believe, when tsarnaev is found guilty. his legal team stressing their own message to the jury that his

just a stunning day. picture perfect weather for a baseball game. excited about it. you'll see a lot of changes. one of the best thing answer coming to a ball court, of course, all the yummy foods and nats chief marketing officer gave us a delicious preview this morning. >> talk about some of the new things at the park this year. >> we have a new virginia theme stand. had half smokes from d.c. a crab stand, a lot of maryland. this year doing virginia. we have country biscuits with virginia ham. we have chicken biscuit, country fried steak and we also have at that stand virginia crunch which is a house-made cracker jack with virginia bourbon, peanuts and caramel infused bacon. >> iking those grilled cheese sandwiches. >> absolutely. for big kids and little kids alike. standard american cheese on white all the way up to what we call the heater. turkey guacamole and pepper jack. >> and new pizza options, too? >> right. enzos by the slice.

at nats park, temperatures hitting the 60s alreadied. by first pitch time at 4:05 with that sunshine a little bit of a breeze coming in out of the southwest. it will be in the mid 70s, and the rest of the game by seventh inning back down to the low 70s. last out back down into the upper 60s. a few clouds increaseing and bringing rain in tomorrow mainly the afternoon. highs low 70s. sprinkles, a little drizzle wednesday high knee near 60. mid-50s thursday might get drizzle a few sprinkles and perhaps a passing shower on friday drying out in time for the weekend with highs near 70. >> thanks tom. amazing weather for the game. amazing weather for the beautiful cherry blossomsing for us. >> take a jacket going to the game. sounds cool. glad you were with us today ap hope you'll be with us tomorrow at 11:00 with "news4 midday." have great day enjoy the weather. >> enjoy the weather.
