midnight. the suspect and victim do know each other. they don't believe he is a threat but he is possibly armed. >> we are following a developing story in anne arundel county. we know the identity of the man arrested. colvin white is charged with several crimes. this was at a convenience store on east college parkway. overnight police gave us an update saying the officer remains in critical condition following several surgeries. >> new information about a suspect in a deadly crime spree. according to court documents, ronald anderson was set to appear on assault charges, but thursday night anderson

kidnapped his girlfriend and killed the guard at the bureau and shot at police. we have the chaotic moments after the shooting. >> the police had a lot of commotion. >> jeanette was scared when she heart police bang on her neighbor's door. >> i couldn't go to sleep. >> she did not know he was in critical condition after police say he got in a shootout. they drove her to the census bureau where they say he shot and killed a security guard. he left the d.c. police spotted him in southeast and he started shooting at officers. it ended with a crash and lots of gunfire. >> it happened in the middle of this block. >> carmen manages the supper club. the shootout caused her to

cancel the event. >> it caused at least $4,000. >> she has been charged with armed kidnapping. he has not been charged with the killing of the security guard. >> woor are learning more about the husband, father and grandfather who was married for 36 years and served in the u.s. army before spending more than 20 years in security. buckner worked for the security as did officers for nearly four years. the company released a statement saying we are mourning the loss of a man we considered a hero who died in the line of duty. we have more on what led up to the deadly crime spree on our nbc washington app. >> in the day ahead, family and friends will lay to rest a man

shot and killed a police officer in north carolina. he was shot in the back a week ago. dash cam video shows the moments before the shooting and cell phone video captures the actual shooting. he has since been fired and now charged with murder. >> the fbi involved in an investigation into a police beating in a southern california desert. take a look at the video. our sister station in los angeles captured this video of francis being repeatedly kicked and punched. authorities say he ran from police and stole a horse. this morning his mother is defending his decision to run from police. >> i'm proud of my son. because i have run from cops too. i have seen too much happen lately. >> attorneys for francis say after the meeting, a deputy cold him this is not over. lawyers say he is still very swollen and bruised and cannot

camera and we have a warning for you. the video is disturbing. this was the scene at a wal-mart parking lot north of phoenix. police are trying to get the situation under control. you can see they used batons pepper spray and even tazers. the family fought with officers and a worker at wal-mart. one of the family members tried to grab the officer's gun. that's when shots were fired and family member was shot and killed. family members struggled to get the officer's gun. >> this morning, workers will work to move a giant boulder that is sitting in the middle of a highway and about the size of a house. it weighs 1500 tons near the kentucky border. a pickup truck ran into the massive rock but the driver is okay. that area is prone to rock slides and it will take most of the weekend to get that thing
