machine. >> she'll have to work to win over some of her fellow democrats. >> i think like a lot of people in this country, i want to see a vision. >> reporter: there are plenty of supporters who believe her time is now, as she goes down a familiar road she hopes will take her back to the white house. >> and i hope you'll join me on this journey. >> reporter: the presidential race is expected to get bigger on monday when republican senator marco rubio makes his announcement in florida. brian moore, nbc news washington. more candidates to come. thanks brian. six people were hurt after a car crashed through a bakery in fairfax county. this lexus drove right into napoleon bakery this afternoon. that's in annandale in columbia pike. no people if the people hurt were inside the car or store, but we know the injuries aren't serious. inspectors had to close the bakery to make sure the building is structurally safe and police say criminal charges are coming. a woman is accused of leaving her quadriplegic son

alone in the woods. tonight she's in a hospital in maryland. philadelphia police tracked her down thanks to a tip from someone who knows her. dusty darcy spencer is live with details. >> reporter: this is a story that would make anyone whether you're a parent or not, ask a question how could you do something like this to your own child? let alone someone who is disabled and completely defenseless. we're going to show you video of where this young man was found, with simply a blanket and a bible, as i explain the latest details in montgomery county. the mom, nia parlor apparently left her son in that and that's when she got on a bus and apparently has been staying with her boy friend. on friday afternoon, authorities from philly went to the apartment where she had been staying to talk to her, but she was not there.

we found out today she was apparently on a shopping spree. that night her son was found in that park about 11:00 that night, between 11:00 and midnight her boyfriend apparently caused authorities, say she's back here at the apartment. authorities responded to talk to her about what happened to her son. at some point she had to be taken to the hospital for medical treatment. police here are not saying why. >> i can't go into details as to what type of treatment she's receiving, but she is hospitalize hospitalized and she is still receiving treatment. we will take her from the hospital and have that warrant served at the philadelphia police department. has obtained. >> reporter: again, she is still in the hospital but will be facing numerous charges including kidnapping endangerment and assault. we don't know when she will be extradited to philadelphia to face those charges. i also want to mention, on a

good note here her son is doing much better. he's still in the hospital. we're told he's surrounded by loved ones and is expected to recover. chris, back to you. >> thanks, darcy. the family of a tacoma park teenager is desperately trying to pinned her. she's 16 years old, last seen on university boulevard. she was dropped off there yet to -- she was wearing dark blue jeans, a black shirt and white sneakers. covering northern virginia we've learned that an inmate who died in the fairfax county jail was restrained and then shocked with a stun gun four times. "the washington post" obtained incident reports from natasha mckina's death back in february. documents revealed she officially cooperated and then tried to fight her way out. six deputieses replaced her into the restained and then hit her with 50,000 volts four times.

the fairfax county sheriff is defends the officers' use of force. >> on your stomach, now. [ gunshot ] >> dramatic body cam video shows what happened when a civilian volunteer deputy made a mistake and pulled his gun instead of his taser. oklahoma prosecutors are deciding if he'll have to face charges. this video shows the deputy arresting a man in tulsa earlier this month following an undercover sting. the suspect was allegedly trying to sell a gun. the deputy is 73 years old. he apologized just as soon as he realized what he had done. >> we want to warning you about the next video. this can be tough to watch. a homeless man is in a medically induced coma at a brutal beating. this shows a group of people attacking him. he hit him with a hammer repeatedly kicked him in the head. police say it started when a boy told his mom the homeless man hit him, but detectives don't

it certainly looked lie a search-and-rescue operation. but actually it's just a drill. multiple agencies were put to the test to see how they would respond in an emergency situation. in this case to find them missing. >> hopefully we find them alive and well, but if that's not the case at least we have recovered the victims. >> along with today alive drill, they also took part in a two-day training exercise. secret service agents were scrambling across pennsylvania avenue today this afternoon. a frisky 4-year-old climbed under a temporary bike rack near the white house, and set off the security alarming.

tonight we're learning more about a local student who stopped breathing on his way back from a school trip. he was an honors student and hoped to attend the u.s. naval academy. bowie high school will send a letter home with students tomorrow but as derrick ward reports, the sad news is already spreading throughout his community. >> reporter: come monday grief counselor will be among those starting the school day, to help students deal with the tragic loss over break. the 16-year-old got sick on the charter bus. he and other members of the junior rotc program were returning from a trip to south carolina when he got sick became unresponsive and stopped breathing. the bus pulled out of the bellway, paramedics were called the young man was taken to the
