midday begins right now. >> i'm angie here at the live desk. new details on the triple fatal crash in maryland. police saying three people have died in an accident on route 404 looking at the maps near church lane in talbot county. three tractor trailers were involved. it happened just before 7:00 this morning and route 404 has been closed for hours. no timetable when things are going to open back up. no word on what caused this bad crash. >> right now family and friends are saying a final good buy to a university of washington student who was killed. grace died last week. her roommate is charged with her murder. the funeral is now underway. >> reporter: good morning. the funeral is just now wrapping up. the casket is being brought out

of the temple as we speak. friends and family lined up here. very emotional here. this young college student 20 years old killed right there near her university on friday afternoon. we're told 1,200 people turned out for the funeral today including her very own roommates who were there during her final moments. >> the white coffin is lifted and taken inside the temple. a funeral for a young woman. >> we want to think about her comfort as she leaves to be with god. >> grace was just 20 years old. a university of mary washington junior murdered in her own home just off campus. dozens of students came here by bus to attend the funeral. a family friend read a statement

officers are on paid leaf followve following the death of a man whose in police custody. it appears his spinal cord was nearly severseded and several backbones broke. at some point the paramedics were called and they rushed him to the hospital. he remained in a coma until his death sunday. abc's tom castillo has been following the story closely. we asked about police brutality in baltimore. >> i talked about the mayor yesterday with this. i said have you had a problem with police brutality in the city and she said we have had, yes but so has much of america. this could be a homicide investigation but they'll determine that as it unveils and goesz forward in the coming days. >> gray's death has sparked protest. this morning a memorial tree

together again. about an hour ago a robot team was reunited with its long lost robot. the robot was found in knoxville, tennessee. it was stolen from their van in a resent competition. we are life with a look at how this is going to effect the team in their biggest competition

yet. good morning. >> reporter: well barbara, the robot is called the red baron by the kids. while the robot is back where it belongs, it will not be competing in the world championship. the replacement robot that the team had to build will get that honor but the kids say they are still happy to have their friend back. the red baron arrived back home to dominion high school. it's been a long journey for this louden county robotics team fromty second place victory at the robotics regionals in knoxville to heart break when their van, the robot inside it was stolen. then the community rallied around the team giving them the funds to build a replacement robot to go on to the world championship in st. louis.

joining us live right now from the washington post is lenny bernstein who wrote the article. what is the main factor and why do they think the cases are going to spike? >> they didn't look at causes. it was a mathematical model. women are living longer. there are more older women and an increase in the number of a certain kind of tumor. those three things together probably combine to create the increase. >> it's a scary thing. when anybody sees this number they know someone effected in some way by the breast cancer. it's frightening so see that. >> i have heard before that the growth in the older age population was going to create a
