no major problems. 295 is slow here as you're passing 50. maryland 95 powder mill road no problems there. but again, chopper is on the way to this scene, 270 southbound at buckeystown pike. hope to have that for you when we're back at 6:11 and we'll look at some travel times. a developing story in north -- firefighters discovered the bodies yesterday as they arrived to put out the flames there. they say the fire is suspicious. news4's megan mcgrath with more on what investigators will be doing today. megan? >> reporter: well, aaron, if you look behind me here you can see the police officers who have been here on the scene all night long. the home still encircled by crime scene tape. we are expecting investigators to return later on this morning. now, neighbors say a couple and their young son live in this house on woodland drive. the fourth person found dead is believed to be the housekeeper.

now, arson and homicide detectives were on the scene on thursday and police chief cathy lanier is calling this situation very suspicious. it was 1:30 in the afternoon when a fire broke out at the home when rescue crews went inside, that's when they found four bodies on the second floor. how they died exactly what happened, that is not known at this point. now, yesterday, news4's jackie bensen spoke to a woman who normally comes to the house on thursdays to help her friend clean. that morning she got a text message telling her not to come. >> she sent me a text message around 10:00. she said i want to make sure you're not coming today. and come on monday. or any other day but don't come today. >> reporter: police are looking for information about a porsche, blue porsche 911 with a dc tag of dk 2418.

that car was seen around 10:30 by the house and then left. it was located later in the afternoon, but police want information about who was driving that sports car. st. albans school nearby sent out a message to their parents and staff saying that this tragedy affected them. one of their families. we are expecting grief counselors at that school later today. back to you in the studio. >> megan mcgrath live for us, thank you. today is the funeral for a d.c. firefighter who died just moments after saving someone's life. the viewing and funeral for lieutenant kevin mcrae starts at 9:00 this morning at the d.c. armory in southeast. he collapsed after battling an apartment fire in the shaw neighborhood last week. a woman who escaped that fire told news4 mcrae saved her sister's life that day. he was 44 years old. 6:05. right now speed is the main focus of the ntsb investigation into that deadly amtrak train derailment. in the last minute before the crash, the amtrak train sped up from 70 miles per hour to over 100.

we can learn why from the train's engineer brandon bostian, very soon. he is expected to talk to the ntsb in the next couple of days. today is the funeral for navy midshipman justin zemser. he is one of eight people killed in the derailment. we are learning an amtrak employee filed the first lawsuit in connection with the crash. and we're learning a safety system that's been around for decades was not being used at the time of this crash. it's called automatic train control, known as atc. the system is used on mass transit nationwide including metro. it's built into tracks and senses when a train is speeding and slows it down. our sister station in philadelphia confirmed with amtrak that atc was not used on the tracks near the site. >> most of these systems are designed to be fail safe which means if something goes wrong, they're supposed to stop the trains. >> we'll want to interview the people who were responsible for making those decisions and we

ultimately will make an evaluation as to whether or not that was sufficient risk management. >> atc is different from positive train control which we told you about earlier this week. ptc is a more sophisticated gps based system that is not yet installed in philadelphia. right now, crews are repairing and replacing the damaged tracks in philadelphia. crews laid new tracks in that area where the train derailed. because the corridor between d.c. and new york is the nation's because rail corridor, they're anxious to get it repaired again. service between philadelphia and new york is expected to be suspended through monday as well. today we could find out how a judge wants to move forward in a rape case against jesse matthew. he is charged with attempted murder and rape in the 2005 attack on a woman in fairfax county. his lawyers asked to delay the trial set to start nextmonth.

a judge could announce a decision here and matthew faces capital murder charges in the death of uva student hannah graham. we are learning more about the top candidate for superintendent of montgomery county public schools. the board of education president sent a letter home to parents that said andrew houlihan is its choice for that post. he is chief academic officer for the houston independent school district. that's the nation's seventh biggest school district. dr. houlihan has been described as a rising star. the wizards have to win tonight if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. they tip off against the atlanta hawks at the verizon center, there's we're at home. tonight's game is at 7:00 on espn. go wizards. new developments in the search for the missing u.s. marine held in nepal. wreckage found overnight and what the military is saying about the discovery when we go to the live desk.

i'm kristin wright. right through the u.s. military confirms that the missing marine helicopter has been found in nepal. this is one of the search teams that was looking for the chopper. the nepal army found the wreckage. six marines were on board and two nepalese soldiers. the helicopter disappeared tuesday while delivering aid to earthquake victims. our military is assessing the crash site this morning and beginning their investigation. eun? >> thank you. government leaders in nepal are being forced to work in tents after the two massive earthquakes that hit the country. the latest earthquake happened tuesday.

it severely damaged a key building that houses the prime minister's office in the heart of kathmandu. a spokesperson for the prime minister's office says they're trying to find alternate space. some stores reopened today and traffic started to flow again on the streets of kathmandu. a metro official says that rail service performance is -- in 2015 is quote the lowest in recent memory. the performance office presented the record card yesterday. limited bus service are among the concerns and robberies and aggravated assaults increased since last year. escalator and elevator service has improved, however. metro says it will start washing out its tunnels in order to prevent smoke incidents. cleaning up the grime helps to keep the electrical equipment running. thousands of commuters were slowed this week and they

into a dorm building last friday while he was drunk. according to the police report he walked into three different rooms with the doors unlocked. in one case a female student reported waking up to a hand touching her inappropriately. it is now 6:19. jurors will be back to work today trying to determine whether the convicted boston marathon bomber deserves to die. dzhokhar tsarnaev was convicted last month of all 30 charges against him. 17 carry the death penalty. the jury did have some questions about the charges yesterday. in order for tsarnaev to receive the death penalty, the decision must be unanimous. three people died and more than 260 were hurt when two pressure cooker bombs exploded near the marathon finish line two years ago. new information this morning about how common it is for bullying to happen at school. the u.s. education department released the new numbers overnight from 2013. it found that 22% of students aged 12 to 18 said they were bullied at school.
