severe weather ramps up around 2:00. i-95, between 5:00 and 9:00 this afternoon. if you have stuff to do outside, get it done sooner rather than later or put it off until tomorrow when the sunshine is back. temperature 82 at the airport. 74 in reston. this yellow area is the greatest risk for severe weather. these are going to be heavy rain producers that could produce strong, straight-line wind. there's a threat for tornado as well with the spin from remnants of bill. keep a weather eye to the sky after 4:00. rain and thunder likely by 6:00. heavy rain likely from 8:00 onward to the midnight hour tonight. be advised. flash flood watches are up. one to three inches of rain are a possibility. we'll talk the father's day forecast in a few minutes.

>> thanks. a developing story. police are trying to figure out who stabbed and killed a man. he was stabbed several times. derrick ward is live gathering details. derrick? >> reporter: good morning. police remain on scene now. they are probably about ready to wrap this up. this is an intensive investigation. they are focusing their attention on st. luke church. there is a mission where they believe it occurred. take a look at the scene. it was 10:30 last night when the police were called to the scene for what was reported as a stabbing. all we know is an adult male was stabbed several times and since died. the investigation may be wrapped up anytime now. residents are upset because they can't get to their vehicles they happen to be in the midst of the crime scene. they have taken some of the tape

down. the fire department showed up. that usually means they are close to wrapping this up. we don't have information on a lookout or the identity of the victim. fatal stabbing on the 3600 block of calvert street. we are live in northwest, derrick ward reporting, back to you. >> thank you. new this morning, firefighters in prince george's county say someone may have intentionally set a popular restaurant on fire. they are calling the fire at tuckers an arson. it was so intense it caused the roof to collapse. one firefighter suffered minor burns. if you have information in the case, call the prince george's county fire department. you can help police if you recognize this man here. he is wanted by the fbi after trying to rob a bank in northeast. the man approached the teller, demanding money, didn't get any

and took off. we are following a developing story in new york. state police are looking into the possible sighting of two prisoners who escaped. witnesses saw two men walking near a rail yard in irwin. that's a five and a half hour drive southwest from where richard matt and david sweat escaped. the next day, they saw two men walking a few miles from the new york/pennsylvania border. they escaped from the correctional facility two weeks ago. an officer has been put on leave until the investigation is over. an anonymous caller said a bomb was planted near the ame church in northwest last night. nothing was found. the task force is still investigating this. a church spokesperson says worship will go on as normal this weekend. they planned some increased security after the attack in charleston.

>> we have to change the culture of violence in america and around the world. >> the sense of loss is being felt in our area. people from different backgrounds and religious beliefs came together at the metropolitan ame church in washington yesterday. there was clernlgy from a cross section of beliefs and faith in the pews. many say the tragedy presents an opportunity to plot a course forward against hate. this morning, the time line of the shooting inside the emanuel ame church is becoming clear. dylann roof shot all nine victims multiple times and stood over a witness and made a racially inflammatory remark at the shooting. the affidavit says roof's father and uncle called police after seeing the surveillance photos of him. roof's father told investigators his son owned a .45 caliber

hands gun. right now a disturbing story out of greenbelt. police need your help finding this man suspects on two sex assaulted on children in prince george's county. the crime happened this past week. jackie bensen has more. >> reporter: police believe these images show the man responsible for two frightening crimes. the most recent happened at beltway plaza mall on greenbelt road. a man came in and touched her before she was able to yell for help. >> the child was not unacomp anied. the child was with her mother. she was 6 years eald waiting for the mother to be done. the suspect entered the restroom assaulted the child and left. >> reporter: these images were recorded last friday at a cvs pharmacy on riverdale road after a 6-year-old girl was groped by

a man in the store. >> physically, the resemblance is very close. again, entered a retail store and came and exited rapidly. >> reporter: shoppers we spoke to were unaware of the crime. >> this world is crazy. that's why a lot of moms they have to watch people. don't let your children walk behind you. >> it's unfortunate very unfortunate, but, i mean -- >> jackie bensen reporting there. i want to show you another look at the suspect. if you recognize him, call greenbelt police. police in charles county are trying to figure out what happened when a woman came home to find her husband dead and her baby unconscious. the neighbor called 911 after they heard her screaming. the sheriff's office says it appears the father may have shot himself yesterday afternoon. neighbors performed cpr on the baby until paramedics arrived.

the recent shootings in south carolina raised sensitive debate over the confederate flag. >> the suspect displayed images on his car. we have more on the debate. >> reporter: atop south carolina's capitol, the u.s. and state flags respectfully fly at half staff. on the capitol ground flies the confederate flag at full height,

the hospital and later died. >> we want to see what the medical examiner says and if there's a pre-existing condition or something problematic the night of. >> he expected to have sex with the woman during their date and told police he forced himself on her. general motors recalling more than 243,000 pontiac vibes because of the air bags. 2003 to 2007 models in the u.s. and canada. tuukkaa tuukka da -- the nation's auto safety regulator failed to discover general motors ignition switch defects. "the new york times" and detroit news report the inspector general found the national highway traffic safety

administration failed to hold them accountable for safety lapses. the agency says they had their own review of procedures. more than 110 deaths were linked to the defects. one man dead a second fighting for his life after falling from a jet as it approached london. the stow away died after falling from the jet and landing on a rof top. the second man remains in critical condition. there's no word on how the men got on to the plain. another scare in the air. a team from the british army was performing in an air show when a parachute did not open that's the bottom one there. you can see a fellow soldier saw what happened and helped guide him to safety. thousands of spectators watched the drama unfold. no one was hurt. it's the first time in 25 years a red devil parachute did not open. >> wow! >> sometimes you need friends in high places. >> you are not kidding.

this evening. types of severe weather threats a very high risk of heavy rain. one to locally as much as three inches or more of rainfall between now and the time the sun comes up tomorrow morning. also, don't ignore the threat for severe weather today. chances of some severe thunderstorm wind gusts in excess of 60 miles per hour and a lot of spin with the tropical remnants out there. not a zero risk for tornadoes. not much going on this morning. thunderstorms here across far western maryland into west virginia. here is the center of spin now to the southwest of cincinnati. that center of circulation is basically aimed for hagerstown, frederick area by midnight tonight. between now and then is when all the possibility of severe weather exists. once the area of low pressure goes by, the rain tapers off by tomorrow. here is future weather 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. the heavy rain is gone tomorrow. tomorrow it's going to be a sizzler outside.
