rick. don't walk away from me. ahhhhhhhh! right now at 11:00, severe weather ripping through parts of the region. a viewer sending us this video of hail on embassy road in northwest d.c. more hail this time in mclean and it was so much more. thunder, lightning and heavy rain pounded this neighborhood. sheets of rain coming down hard making for dangerous driving conditions throughout our area. check out this video from the outer loop in largo. even with the wipers going full speed visibility still very, very poor. we have live team coverage. storm team 4 meteorologist

amelia segal will talk about the storms. >> reporter: we're live along old town alexandria. the rain is coming down at this hour but it appears that the worst is over at this point. behind me you can see the ponding on the roadway here. that's what area officials are dealing with and warning folks about tonight, that there is some street level flooding going on here in alexandria as well as the district and maryland. let's go to the video posted by a viewer on instagram. it shows the flooding taking place. apparently we don't have that video but meaj jurormajor flooding occurred here. so much rain fell in a short amount of time. this was an intense storm.

at the height of the storm we pulled into a parking lot area and, boy, so much lightning and thunder, the rain was coming down so hard. it was one of the most intense storms that we have seen in some time. we have been checking social media to see if there was any damage in the area. we haven't seen any reports of meaj juror damage, which is kind of surprising considering how intense these storms were. also no reports of anybody being injured in these storms so that is definitely good news. we are continuing to get rain here. but it appears that the worst is over. we'll send it back to you. >> thank you very much, darcy. appreciate that. amelia is standing by in the storm team 4 weather center to tell us what to expect. amelia? >> the focus is going from the severe thunderstorm threat to the tornado to now flash

flooding. the severe storm left the area but the areas in burgundy are under flash flood warnings until after midnight. this includes parts of prince williams and down around the woodbridge area and most of prince george's county, you're under a flash flood warning into anne arundel county. we could see another half inch or so. flash flood warning for parts of frederick county and the green here is a flood warning for frederick county until 4:30 a.m. thunderstorms now over the eastern shore and tracking areas of rain overnight tonight. erika, i'm going to have the latest timing on that and what to expect in the full forecast

coming up in a few minutes. we're following shootings with multiple victims. the first is in detroit michigan, where ten people were shot. the shooting happened on a basketball court. we are hearing reports that at least one person is dead and that another is in critical condition. there has also been a shooting in west philadelphia. seven people were shot at a block party including a 2-year-old and 10-year-old. both are in critical condition. a gunman with a shotgun opened fire on the crowd. more on the storms in a little bit. right now we want to tell you about all of the people that lost power in our area. a number of individuals. many families still in the dark right now. more than 26,000 customers are in the dark. most of them are very hard hit

and he'll be updating the forecast. here's a check of storm team 4 radar. this is the storm that moves through the area and this is left of bill, the center of this system. this has to move through overnight tonight. we can't rule out about another half inch of rain to move through the area. a closer look at where heavy rain is falling around the calvert beach area. len leonard, lighter rain at this point. inside the beltway, showers at this point. the storm reports from tonight, a lot of reports of hail inside the beltway. these are reports all around the area and this is the report of funnel clouds spotted around the fredericksburg area. two-inch sized hail was reported in stafford. numerous reports of trees down across virginia and maryland as well. road closures being reported as well. flash flood warnings through the

area here in red are going to run through midnight tonight. this includes washington, arlington, alexandria, the district, fairfax prince william county prince george's county, parts of anne arundel county as well. you're also under that flash flood warning. frederick is also under a flood warning that is going to run until 4:30. bottom line, avoid travel tonight if you're under these warnings. you want to do that and if you are out driving, you never want to drive through a flooded roadway. with future weather at midnight, notice the area tracking scattered showers. the threat of severe thunderstorms is now over but 1:00 a.m., still areas of rain moving through the d.c. metro area. 5:00 a.m. potentially light showers. by 8:00 a.m., we dry out and the sunshine starts to break out for father's day. tomorrow, the weather will have a low to moderate impact on your day. it's because of the heat. the storms have done little to bring any relief for our heat
