about a15 minutes. we're staying on top of the developing story in anne arundel county, police trying to identify a baby found on the side of the road in pasadena. darcy spencer is live where police got the call. >> reporter: good morning. a little bit of good news. i just talked to anne arundel county police on the phone and they're telling me that this baby girl is doing okay. it sounds like she was not hurt which is amazing considering what happened to her last night. they're saying she is suffering from a little bit of tee high dehydration, she's still in the hospital, but again she's okay. we're on dr chltuitt hill avenue. a very quiet street. people here in shock that something like this would happen. let's go to the picture of this baby girl. she's two to three months old and she was found in a car seat in a carrier on the side of the road here just before midnight last night.

now, police are saying that there are scuff marks and debris on this carrier that indicate that maybe she fell off of a moving vehicle. they're trying to figure that out. again, she was taken to the hospital. we were able to talk to numerous residents here who had no idea something like this had happened on their street last night. >> at about 11:00 last night maybe 15, 20 minutes later, two doors down there was fire engines, ambulance, we skru figured it was a fireworks accident. woke up this morning and saw on facebook somebody left a baby. they do have knocked on our door we would have been happy to at that time the take the baby. >> reporter: and that's the sentiment of a lot of neighbors we have spoken to here this morning. why are how could someone do this. again, we don't know the circumstances. anne arundel county police are desperately trying to identify this baby girl and her parents and figure out what exactly happened here last night. back to you. >> darcy, thanks. and you can share the post on

facebook, as well. d.c. police are looking for someone who shot four people overnight. one of them died. the shooting happened on douglas place southeast near stanton road. another of the four victims is in critical condition right now. we're learning more about a deadly attack in northeast d.c. police say a stabbing at the noma station happened on a train. they also released the victim's name. kevin sutzuter land ersutherland, 24 years old. police shut down the station for several hours, but it is back open. in kentucky, two people are dead after a boat capsized in the ohio river. three others are missing right now. police in louisville say the boat went town during a fireworks show last night. and they say they couldn't search for the missing people right away because the current fast. doctors here in d.c. treating five people for burns after a boat exploded. something ignited the boat at

solomon's island last night. it was refueling at the time. the explosion hurt ten people including three children. medics flew five to medstar washington hospital center, we're told all will survive. new this morning we just learned escaped killer david sweat is headed back to a maximum security prison. sweat and richard matt of course escaped that prison in new york last month. matt was killed and sweat was captured about a week later. well, he's now going to a different prison than the one where he escaped. in decision 2016, jeb bush says donald trump's comments about max can imexican immigrants are ugly. when trump announced his run for president, he criticized immigrants who come from mexico to the u.s. illegally. he said they bring drugs and crime and called some of them rapists adding that he assumes some are good people.

texas senator ted cruz is also running for the republican nomination. he says he salutes trump. you can watch cruz's interview with chuck todd this morning on "meet the press" at 10:30. today you can now buy wine, beer, liquor on sundays in prince george's county. under the new law, store owners need a special license to sell between 8:00 app and midnight. montgomery, howard and an a run tell count anne arundel already offer sunday ligquor sales. today where he say good-bye to the world police and fire games and they will also remember a brokeazilian police officer who died in a crash while racing. the closing ceremony is tonight at 6:00. there will be a melgzs smedals presentation. thousands are in town for the games that happen every two years. nbc 4 is a proud sponsor. more concern over a surge in shark attacks.

he hit a home run. tonight's game on national tv. >> we wish them luck tonight. there has been a surgery in in shark al tacks sattacks during a crucial tourism time. >> and that's not the only industry feeling threatened. gabe guttierez reports. >> reporter: the outer banks have never seen a summer quite like this. >> you've been coming here more than 30 years on vacation. and this year is the first year that you don't want to go in the water. >> absolutely. this is the first year. >> reporter: seven shark attacks in north carolina in just three week. vacationers on edge after scenes like this, two men fishing in kill devil hills reeled in a 6 1/2 foot shark before releasing it back into the water. >> we're worried about the waters for the first time ever. >> reporter: beach patrol out in force, but posted shark warnings few and far between. >> every year it's certainly a consideration because after all they do live out there in that water.

>> reporter: so why this year a shark surge? >> we went from water temperatures that were in the mid-70s to water temperatures in the mid to high 80s in the span of about five days. what that may have done is actually caused all of the sharks that are part of that migration to kind of move up as one big mass. >> reporter: the predators aren't just threatening tourists. they're threatening livelihoods. local fishermen say the sharks are ruining their catches. >> you can look and there are three, for you, eight, nine sharks because they know that you're going to hook a tuna. >> reporter: glenn hopkins has been fishing for 35 years, but he's never seen this many partially eaten fish. he captured this shark on an underwater camera. >> got the tuna right there getting ready to gap it and all of a sudden out of nowhere shark comes up and grabs the whole thing. i would say last month probably $25,000 out of my pocket that's gone into the shark's bellies.

we enter this week with two new presidential hopefuls in decision 2016. former virginia senator jim webb and also governor christie. and this morning one of the other contenders is standing by donald trump. >> this following trump's controversial comments about mexican immigrants. furs chuck todd with us. and senator ted cruz is coming to trump's defense. >> you can look at it in a politically crass way. their path to the nomination. ted cruz is trying to appeal to the part of the republican party that is fed up that is angry, feels as if washington has let him down, republican leadership has let them down. and when you look at the numbers trump is getting it is because

there is an angry portion of the electorate that feel ignored and cruz wants to inherit that. jeb bush knows if a republican can't get 35% of the hispanic vote, they won't be president of the united states. president. no alternative path for that. >> that will be interesting to see how that plays out for cruz. let's also talk about isis. leading up to the holiday weekend, there was a lot of talk about potential for an attack in the u.s. concern particularly here in washington. but nothing happened fortunately. but isis is still continuing to expand its influence abis the u.s. doing to fight this potential threat? >> i think what we've seen is the way intelligence agencies feel like the only way they can deal with sisisis-inspired attacks is not necessarily panic us but everyone on a higher sense of alert. i think the navy yard incident last week is proof that we're

we're talking somebody's home out in oklahoma. they were living in the walls. and it was more than just a couple of hives. >> over 30 pounds of honey removed and still more to go. >> that's a lot. >> well we don't know how she will get rid of all these bees, but one thing she said she is the not going to do is exterminate. she wants to remove them humane humanely. >> we know how important bees are. >> she's braver than i would be. >> well, i wonder what that does structurally to your home when you have hundred any inside of on your walls. >> didn't look good. the weather today, drying out from yesterday. we were talking about rain at this time. >> yes. heavy rain at times yesterday during the afternoon and early evening hours. today for most of us it's a dry day. partly to mostly cloudy skies.

highs in the low to mid-80s. the weather today having a low impact on your day. travel is looking good. exercise earlier you go out the better. just because it is going to be a little hot and humid. or wait until the evening hours. heading out and about if you're heading towards the mountains back around the i-81 corridor, have that umbrella handy with scatter showers and thunderstorms there. but in our immediate area, most if not all of us going to remain dry. temperatures are in the 60s and 70s. 68 in gaithersburg, 75 in annapolis. 70 over in warrenton. throughout the afternoon hour by 2:00, we're at 84. we'll hit our high in washington of about 85 86. 5:00 still 84. the suburbs will warm into the low to mid-80s. 84 in frederick, 82 winchester 81 pawtaxent river. 86 inside of the beltway.

pool forecast for the workweek, monday showers and thunderstorms for tomorrow. not a great day to go to the pool. tuesday, i would recommend going. it will be nice dry summer day. it's hot. definitely need the sunscreen on tuesday. wednesday, you can go to the pool, but there is a thunderstorm in the forecast. lifeguard might have you get out until the storm passes. tomorrow a high of 85, isolated showers for the morning commute. non noon scattered showers. heading home from work scattered showers, thunderstorm and likely heavy rain. and there is a concern for some flash flooding especially with all the rain we've had lately. you hear how water quickly clegtsclegt s collects and might shut down a couple roads. tom will be in this morning updating the forecast. road impacts throughout the day tomorrow mainly dry for the early morning commute. in the afternoon and evening, showers and thunderstorms again in the forecast. could slow that ride home.

tuesday 93. mostly to partly sunny skies. looking forward to that. maybe an isolated late day shower or thunderstorm. wednesday chance of afternoon and evening scattered showers and thunderstorms. a high of 90. thursday a high of 87 with the chance of some showers and thunderstorms. much of the same on friday. still in our unsettled weather pattern where rain isn't a guarantee but still in the forecast. next saturday, right now we'll keep it dry keep it optimistic. partly sunny and a high of 89. and we're looking forward as well right now looking at the week ahead what you need to know. tomorrow lawmakers this south carolina will begin an official debate about the confederate flag. they're discussing whether to take it down from the statehouse where it's flown since 1961. and in the middle east, there is a dead line on tuesday to reach an agreement with iran. there is a draft agreement in place right now. and coming up, we are at the scene where an infant was abandoned on the side of the road.

staying on top of a developing story in anne arundel county. police need your help identifying a baby found on the side of the road this near lake waterford park in pasadena. >> really disturbing. darcy spencer is live with new information. >> reporter: i just heard from anne arundel county police and

they are planning to hold a press conference out here in the neighborhood at 11:30 this morning. there has been a lot of attention generated from this story. people simply are horrified something like this could happen. let's show you the picture once again of this baby girl. i'm told she's doing okay considering what she's been through. she's two or three months old. and again she was found here on druitt hill avenue just before midnight last night in a car seat carrier. and i'm thinking perhaps that carrier may have protected her from any serious injury. she is still in a local hospital being cared for but i'm told she does not have any injuries. just some dehydration. let's go to some video we shot within the last hour. anne arundel county police out here on the street where she was found going and talking to neighbors trying to find out what they may have heard, what they may have seen. all the neighbors we have spoken to so far were unaware that this situation had happened on their street last night and many of them again just horrified that a
