search teams are still trying to find bodies of two people who were killed in a midair collision between a fighter jet and a small plane. the ntsb says the small private plane was destroyed when it was

broadsided by an f-16. >> i just seen one plane coming this way and one going this way and they exploded in midair in a fire ball. >> the pilot of the jet major aaron johnson ejected. he was not injured. it is unclear exactly what caused that collision. >> one man called him the neighbor from held. a guy accused of tormenting the people around him. sheriff's deputies went to the silver spring neighborhood where he lives to try to serve an arrest warrant. megan? >> neighbors say the man has been harassing them since he moved to the neighborhood in 2010. one man had to fork over thousands of dollars in attorney's fees. deputies say they are one step closer to getting the man in

custody. this was a day neighbors say they have been waiting for. the day that deputies went to arrest socritis. using a bob cot to rip down their fence. according to court documents, a judge ordered the man to go through anger management classes. >> it's purgery and obstruction of justice. it's not a charge it's a conviction. he just didn't show up for sentencing. >> that's why deputies followed leads to track the man down. they didn't have much luck tuesday afternoon.

new charges against the charleston church mass murder suspect. a grand jury indicted dylan roof on nine counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. he opened fire during a bible study in charleston last month. nine were killed. the new attempted murder charges are for the three people who survived the attack. roof is being held without bail. state approved plans to take down the flag that currently flies outside the capitol. that debate now moves to the state house where it could face more resistance.

back to you all in the studio. >> thanks, tracy. bond has been set at half a million dollars for a maryland state trooper who is charged with sexual assault. police say brian tucker was off duty. he met a woman in a parking lot and agreed to pay for sex. the woman told investigators that tucker then put a gun to her head and forced her to perform another sex act. an officer spotted them and said tucker tried to hide the gun in his backseat. we're told the gun was not his service weapon. >> and now an update of breaking news right here at 6:00.

communicate should be done from behind cover. john was shot and killed in august 2013 during a stand off at his home. >> there are new developments as fbi agents raided the home of jared fogle. it's all part of a child porn investigation. we have new information just coming in. >> subway announced that its suspending its relationship with jared fogle. they say it's a mutual decision between company and spokesman. he lives in a suburb of indianapolis with his wife and two kids. officers brought in a search dog, removed electronics and documents and loaded those into an evidence van outside. fogle is fully cooperating with investigations.

botulism is rare but it can be deadly. and infants have no protection. northern virginia bureau chief reports now on a baby boy fighting the illness now and what his mother and doctor want all parents to know. >> benjamin marked his three month birthday with breathing and feeding tubes. he is one of only about 100 babies nationwide stricken with botulism this year. >> i was honestly thinking of how am i going to tell my two

older sons that their brother is not coming home. >> benjamin's rapid decline started about two weeks ago when he suddenly stopped nursing. when he reached the fairfax hospital too weak to open his eyes, doctors immediately suspected botulism. >> it is the most potent toxin known to man. it makes somebody week. >> given special medication the baby showed some improvement right away but still there was a most frightening moment. >> it got bad. at one point they had to resuscitate him. >> as she and her husband take turns at benjamin's bedside there has been an outpouring of support on social media.

it's called the excellence child seat concept. it replaess the front passenger seat with a child seat that swivels around allowing the driver or the here passenger to actually see the child. no word yet on when that seat might be available. modern discussion about cuts to the purple line. a state official said those amount to like scaling back from a cadillac to a chevy. there are 43 cuts on the list. they include fewer elevators shorter platforms, less landscaping, and a cut in service frequency. it would go from a six minute wait to a seven and a half minute wait. the full list is on the nbc washington app. the governor will discuss the cut of $210 million from the projected $2 billion budget. when it's built the purple line would run 16 miles.
