they shut down systems for both companies yesterday. the new york stock exchange reopened yesterday after a technical glitch brought it to a halt yesterday. >> i.d. experts are left asking the same question. what went wrong? gabe tu tear rez has the latest. >> reporter: this morning, the new york stock exchange is trying to bounce back after wall street hit a law. >> while break, traders hoor at the nyse said whoa. >> at 11:32 wednesday, all trading was shut down. >> essentially, the floor has been frozing. >> the floor was stunned, frustrated. traders with no access to stock prices had to manually cancel about 700,000 orders already in the system. at 12:09 the exchange tweeted, we are experiencing a technical issue. >> this was an inconvenience here at the new york stock exchange but because of quick thinking, as far as i know no clients were hurt and nobody

right now, metro is discussing whether to cut back service on four rail lines. the proposed proposed to speed up the crowded blue line. under the proposal. fewer trains will run on the orange, silver, green and yellow line during peak hours. more trains will run on the blue line. this would cut down the wait time for you from 12 minutes to 8 minutes. the changes are meant to alleviate a bottleneck at the roslyn tunnel. the red line will not be impacted the problems on the blue line are causing a ripple effect on the other lines. since the opening of the silver

from the live desk, we are monitoring the search for two missing boaters. charles zinner and melissa smar were supposed to come back to the landmark yacht club at 5:00 yesterday afternoon. they never showed up. so they were reported missing a few hours later. that is their car. investigators are searching right now. investigators have found their boat also. it was found about one mile from the yacht club in the aquia creek. it was anchored and running.

an american who was once a towering figure in soccer is now banned for life from the sport. chuck blazo was banned yesterday. he pleaded guilty for racketeering and tax evasion. cooperation helps lead to the massive bribery scandal that has taken down much of fifa's leadership. a former fbi agent will be sentenced for stealing heroin. matthew lowry pleaded guilty to stealing the heroin in march. he could face up to nine years in prison. the lawyer wants him to let him serve his time in home addiction. he says the theft was motivated by addiction not greed. he worked at the d.c. field office i'm eun yang. the baltimore police department is under new management. they fired anthony bats, 2 1/2

months after freddie gray died from injuries. wednesday, a local police union released a report criticizing the department's handling of the riots prompted by his death. also problematic the sustained spike in violence since then. kevin davis will take over for the department for now. the new chief has a long history in law enforcement starting with the prince george's county police. in his 20 years with the department, he rose through the ranks to deputy chief in 2009. in 2013, davis took over as police chief in anna rundell county and re-signed in 2014. a month later in january of 2015 officials named davis baltimore deputy commissioner. he is now in his new role as a top officer in baltimore. >> thank you, eun. the ups ace itis taking disciplinary action after one of his drivers was caught kicking a dog.
