into the side of the mountain. she survived two days in woods and made it down to the road where a driver spotted her. the 16-year-old was severely dehydrated. autumn's step parents are both presumed dead. the president sees the deal as validation for his administration gambling on engaging with iran. the deal allows iran to keep a limited nuclear program under the watch of inspectors. israel is furious. here in washington, lawmakers could try to put up obstacles. coming up a little later in the hour we'll go live to capitol hill with a report on how the president plans to shore up support. and police in the area have a lot of new body cameras to consider. they put cameras on display at the ex po last night. they included cameras with scenes, one with stealth mode

teachers for choosing clinton. the protesters say that say blatant conflict of interests. virginia lawmakers to face a session over the high takes redrawing of the map mcauliffe said if a judge doesn't give them more time work then they'll be called back to office. the new map is due september 1st. well, we were hoping to show you brand-new pictures of pluto this morning going to have to wait a little longer, though. nasa says it's still waiting on -- it says that the pictures are still on the way, actually, from the new horizon space kraltcraftspacecraft billions of miles away from earth. the information taking at least four hours to get to us from the edge of the solar system even though it's traveling at the

bethesda's representative in the maryland house of delegates facing trespassesing and indecent exposure charges. our news partners, wtop acquired court documents saying arianna kelly was arrested a few weeks ago. she was dropping her children off at her ex-husband's house. his fiancee was there apparently, which upset her and she flashed them. and no more final exams in middle school classes. starting with the 2016 to 2017 school year to be replaced with test,s sessays and projects. loudoun county recently dropped final exams for high school teachers. 4:41 now. weather and traffic on the 1s.

crews are preparing right now to start searching again for

several people missing following a deadly flood in the state of kentucky. two people died in that severe weather that swept away homes and downed trees and lots of power lines. half a dozen are still missing. we know that more than 50 people were rescued. now, those search operations expected to get under way soon. we promise to keep you posted. the united states doesn't lose anything out here by giving them the opportunity to prove this is a peaceful program. what's the alternative? go to war now? >> that is secretary of state john kerry defending the historic nuclear deal with iran in an interview with nbc's andrea mitchell. this afternoon, president obama takes to the podium to sell this deal to americans. he faces serious kept sim from people who think this is a lopsided win for iran. nbc's tracie potts is live on capitol hill with more on the president's plan. tracie, good morning. >> good morning. today, he will speak directly to

americans but also make no mistake his message is intended for those on capitol hill who in the next 60 days have to vote on whether or not to accept or rejacket this deal. the president is holding what will likely be a wide ranging news conference on this iran deal, covering everything being asked any question about it. he's going to have a hard sale here on capitol hill. he and secretary kerry have orchestrated this deal. but especially republican leaders don't think it's a good deal and they don't think it will stop iran from developing nuclear weapons. john boehner saying we're going to do everything we can to stop it. can they actually do that? based on what they're hearing so far, they may get something on the president's desk to reject this deal. the president has already said they'll veto it. it doesn't seem like alone they have enough republican support to override that. right now, they just don't have

enough democrats on board. a former sheriff pleaded guilty to soliciting a prostitute. 34-year-old gray was arrested back in february. gray pleaded guilty in april. the sheriff's office fired gray. the sheriff's office was not sure why the information wasn't released at the time of the arrest. in the district d.c. council members want to crack down on prostitution by taking away the bill of having the car. the bill is titled honey, i lost the car. saying people from out of state are driving to downtown to solicit prostitutes. there's a lot of relief in loudoun county after police caught the man called the maybe from hell. police say socrates kondilis

called police and harassed neighbors for years. one neighbor even recorded kondilis ripping down a fence with a bobcat. it's 4:48. spotsylvania county supervisors may have to organize a new deal to make a new baseball stand. supervisors voted 4-3 to keep the sessions going for now. they have until july 31st to come up with an agreement with the owners of the hagerstown sun. it seems early to talk about this, the first doses of the 2015-2016 flu vaccine will be shipped to the u.s. the vaccine is recommend for pretty much anybody who is six months old or older. a controversial new policy at an annapolis hospital will keep smokers from getting a job. the anne arundel medical center

is now screening for tobacco use. if tested positive, the hospital said they won't hire workers and told the policy is completely legal. >> i think it's a surprise to people, particularly people who smoke, i think it's the next step after testing people for alcohol and testing people for drugs. >> you can share what you think about the story on the nbc facebook page. the hospital says applicants who test positive for tobacco can receive treatment and reapply in six months. today's the day for bargain shoppers, amazon, walt mart slashing prices. amazon is celebrating its 20th anniversary today with prime day. the deals are apparently better than black friday sales but they're only available through prime service members. do worries you can sign up for a free 30-day trial today as well. walmart is fighting back by rolling back prices online for more than 2,000 items.

some on radar are beginning to dry out. some of the pavement, though, still damp up through 70 and 370 and frederick county and loudoun county and along the blue ridge as well. right now, shenandoah valley in the mountains, it's cool. in the mid-60s there. closer to washington, near 70. prince george's and fairfax counties. right in downtown washington. mid to upper 70s around the bay. southern northern merrimack and eastern shore. about 11:00 or so showers coming in from the north coming into the metro area for the noon hours so have an umbrella handy when you're going out for lunch. we'll maybe have a few thunder showers from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., mainly just east and south of washington. then by 5:00 we'll begin to dry out. most of the showers and storms will be gone. over the evening hours, low humidity is going to be moving in as the sky does clear up.

"news4 today" begins with breaking news. the breaking news out of d.c. this morning where a woman has died changing her tire on suitland parkway. this happened late last night, d.c. police said a car hit her with with the intersection with stanton road. >> eastbound is completely closed right now. the westbound lanes are back open. police say after the car hit a woman it ran into a lexus. they did not give us the driver or the victim's name. let's get to melissa mollet and what you need to get around the closure. melissa. >> good morning. we now have a live picture of the scene. again, outbound suitland parkway shut down between 295. inbound lanes are open, no problem here. as far as an alternate. good hope road to pennsylvania avenue to branch avenue. wide look at the beltway. as we're taking a big look here,
