two students and police believe more victims are out there. justin andrew gordon taught at connolly school of the holy child in potomac, maryland. he was a computer lab assistant and fault robotics at the school. police tell us both victims were students at the time. chris gordon live with what we are learning about the man accused. chris? >> reporter: holy child was founded in 1961. the safety of its entire community, it says is of utmost importance. recently, a student reported a teacher may have acted inappropriately and it was the school that immediately called the police. connolly school of the holy child educates young women in grades six through 12. justin gordon worked as a computer lab assistant. when the school received a report last week that he inappropriately touched two young students, one as early as 2012, the school fired gordon.

he appeared in court charged with two counts of sex abuse of a minor and two sex offenses. >> i mean this is a 40-year-old man who is exerting influence and allegedly you know, sexually touching these young women that are under age. >> reporter: the connolly school of the holy child sent us a statement -- today, a judge imposed bond at $50,000 unsecured, which means gordon doesn't have to put up the money. gordon and his wife lived with his mother at her home in boomsville, maryland. gordon has been ordered to stay away from copley school of the holy child and avoid all contact with minors. gordon's defense lawyer says the case is difficult because gordon was a teacher. >> so although the contact is slight and minor and any other situation given the fact that

both of these girls apparently were 17 years old, near 18, it makes a difference. >> reporter: documents, i have new information from court documents that indicate that justin gordon may have treated it as if he was dating these young students and had relationships with them. also ahead why the judge released him despite the seriousness of these charges. that's the latest live in potomac. erika back to you. chris, thanks so very much. the attack that killed four mar reaps at a military training center in tennessee is now being investigated as a possible act of terrorism. the fbi is leading this investigation. agents just revealed that the accused gunman mohammad youssuf abdulazeez, had two long guns and one handgun, some guns bought legally brothers not. they are taking a closer look at his travel and social media. the shootings come as just a shock to his friends, who describe him as a kind and funny

guy. >> seemed like a good kid, quiet kid, not any problems in the neighborhood or anything like that. >> it's awful. but i want people to know that he wasn't always like this. >> the fbi says they have no indication the shooter was inspired by isis. right now, they believe he was self-motivated. here's what we are learning now about the four marines killed. sergeant carson holmqvist was originally from wisconsin. he leaves behind a wife and 2-year-old son. sergeant thomas sullivan was from springfield, massachusetts. he is a native from there he earned a purple heart after two tours in iraq. lance corporal skip wells just got out of boot camp a year ago. he was a student at georgia southern university. and sergeant david wyatt, originally from arkansas, he leaves behind a wife and two children. >> we have live team coverage tonight with the latest on the accused shooter, from the caravan of the marines that's on its way to more in-depth

flown to do every air force base and there the honorable transfer will begin, returning the remains of those four fallen marines ultimately to their loved ones. erika, chris back to you. david culver, thanks so very much. the accused gunman is described as "passive and normal" by those who knew him. he was arrested in april on a dui charge, but was not on the terrorism radar. >> nbc news justice correspondent, pete williams, joins us now in the studio. pete cot fbi have done anything to prevent this? >> it's too soon to tell. it doesn't appear at this point that this was a preventible attack because they don't see any point that would have led them to get on to it, that he wasn't discussing it with anyone else, there was no internet signature, nothing indicates that he was planning this. they haven't found anything since then by the way to say what inspired him do this, what his motivation was, no suicide video no note left behind, no manifesto, nothing like that. if it continues this way, that they don't find a signature,

writy guard killed on the job outside the apartment complex he helped protect. someone shot the adreeian kennard and one of his fellow security ga guards as they sat in a car at the central garden apartments overnight here. that's in capitol heights there. the second guard survived but kennard did not. our prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins, have will have more from the victim's mother and why they targeted the guards in a few minutes. we have learned the name of man shot and killed in a springfield home last night. police say 25-year-old mohammed mow she mow gene was found like on the stairs of a home with a gunshot wound. he later died at the hospital. officers did arrest a man who had a gun a short time later. they believe the short and nash she knew each other but aren't sure yet what led to the shooting. worshippers at a northern virginia mosque are stepping up security after two attacks by vandals this week.

tracee. >> reporter: police are looking for a black cher they believe the suspect or suspects play is driven off in that vehicle. meanwhile, there is a mother who is already missing her son. >> this is devastating. >> reporter: cynthia kennard is overwhelmed with grief. she says she said good-bye to her son yesterday afternoon as he headed off to work, not knowing she would ever see him alive again. police say adrian kennard is a security officer at central garden apartments in capital heights and was shot inside of his personal vehicle around 1 a.m. this morning on the apartment complex grounds. it's the same gray challenger that's seen posing on top of in says he loved that car. another security guard was also shot near his red vehicle. he somehow managed to run away, reaching central avenue a few hundred yards down the block. police say he is expected to survive his injuries. >> nothing to indicate a motive whatsoever. again, just does not appear to be random. >> reporter: sources close to

tracee wilkins, back to you in the studio. >> hard story. thank you. a maryland man will spend the next 80 months in prison for killing a pedestrian in d.c. 33-year-old james chandler pled guilty earlier this year under the alford plea meaning chandler didn't admit guilt but acknowledged there was enough evidence to convict him. prosecutors say chandler was under the influence of pcp in february. they say he hit two other cars on h street before driving on to the sidewalk and killing a man near the government accountability office. off topic this is only about -- >> well what about -- >> let me clear to you. that former congressman who threatened a throw a reporter off a capitol balcony will spend the next eight months in prison for tax fraud. michael grimm was a marine and an fbi agent before he became a new york congressman. he also ran a restaurant and federal investigators say he

for cash up at the baltimore harbor tunnel have until tomorrow to turn it in or else. thousands of dollars flew out of an armored truck wednesday night in the baltimore harbor tunnel. as we have reported, drivers stopped in both directions and began picking it up. police closed the tunnel for about seven hours to collect the cash, but they didn't get it all. maryland transportation authority police tell us anyone who took the money home can return it without being prosecuted for theft as long as they hand it in by 5:00 saturday evening. a plan to transform the eastern market neighborhood even more is moving forward. today the district broke ground on the high school redevelopment project in ward six. it is on the corner of pennsylvania avenue between 7th and 8th streets. when it's done it will be a series of shops housing, a public plaza. the district says it will bring 700 permanent jobs. once open eastern markets, the flea market will move to c
