many of you are thankful to be home after a long commute. we have the latest on that story from kensington. >> some got off at kensington station and many said they were delayed. tonight we talked to some of them. >> a little frustrated. >> reporter: tonight the train was delayed for two hours. >> you know, sitting in the station for a while and then left the station and stopped outside silver spring for like probably an hour. >> reporter: a stand-still after this train is leaving for west virginia on the brunswick line lands into a dump truck at seminary road. the crash happened at 5:00 this evening in silver springs. the driver is okay. >> take one look at the cab, you can see the cab of the truck is crushed. i don't understand how he he walked away the way he did, but

of the police department threw something in the bag and something in his car. when investigators saw burns on his hands he said it came from filling a butane lighter. news 4 learned inside the lab in building 236 a blast shield had been blown some 25 feet. sources say pseuedophedrine tablets, train chemicals and a recipe for making methamphetamine was found. police were investigating whether the explosion was from the manufacturing of drugs an not part of the institute's official work. >> that isn't what this investigation is about. there are some circumstances surrounding this event that whiebl it hasn't risen to the level of a criminal level at this point, we're continuing to investigate it. >> reporter: at this time, no arrests have been made. jackie benson, news 4.

>> we are getting our first look at a texas jail while someone was found to have afixasphyxiated herself. this video shows the hallway leading to s.e.a.l. authorities say there was no movement there in the 09 minutes before she was found. the video shows paramedics wheeling her body out on a gurney. she add trash bag around her neck. she just moved to the houston area with a job for the university where she graduated. state trooper pulled her over for failing it signal a lane change. authorities say she became combatant and she was arrested and charged with assaulting an officer. the dash cam video will be released tomorrow. but tonight we are hearing from her family's attorney who said he just watched it. >> first off, there is no real clear understanding why she was stopped in the first place, for a routine traffic stop. >> both parties are at fault that sandra was combative and

arrested had their car towed. >> d.c. police want to catch a guy who is wanted for sexually assaulting a woman. police say he sexually assaulted a woman walking down the street between 5:00 and 5:30 this morning. that attack was near benning road. >> you saw it first on 4, a murder suspect released last week is back in jail after weekend-long manhunt. a judge released him last week saying the bail system isn't fair but he never showed up to get his electronic monitoring device. that triggered a search for multiple police agencies. he is accused of killing jonathan harris during robbery in december. >> new evidence tonight linking a murder suspect to the d.c. family he is accused of killing a detective testified in a preliminary hearing that darren winch's dna is found on a construction vest inside a burned out car owned by the

temperature of 88 heat index 98 degrees right now, now that in this city he that's what i want you to remember. this is not around the rest of the area. but in the city he an urban heat island traps the heat and keeps it in much longer and that's why we are at 88 in d.c. now that heat index over 90 degrees too and much cooler and 77 in gaithersburg and 75 in frederick. heat index there not even a factor. we will continue to see that through the evening hours. something else we will see, scattered showers developinging. nothing too heavy. but wouldn't be surprised if a few more develop through the next couple of hours and through the day tomorrow. wider view showing what is happening back west. notice the cloud cover back west and as i move even further back look at this. this is a cold front that will make its way our way. we could see showers early tomorrow morning ahead of this but tomorrow afternoon is a better chance. here we are at 8:00 a.m. notice showers moving through and across the eastern shore by 8:00 a.m.

starting off fairly dry and as we move on through 11:00, starting to see showers built to the west and more cloud cover towards the east. the more sunshine we get the better chance we have for a few stronger storms. look at what happens around 1:00 starting to see the storms fire up in parts of the area especially in through northern virginia and through the afternoon, 2:00, 3:00, through d.c. and southern maryland. i do think you need the umbrella. if you think about taking lunch outdoors during the day. if it is sunny, stay in the shade. if it is raining, keep the rain off you. another band of showers, these come courtesy of the cold front. that will sweep on through here. as it does that, we will see the humidity fall during the day on wednesday and much nicer conditions. but your impact tomorrow moderate to high side i think. once again on the high side with the heat index close to 100 again. hour by hour forecast, 78 degrees by 8:00 and warmer than that in most areas. 88 degrees by noon.
