police swarming a quiet area in herndon this morning. >> reporter: this is an active investigation right now. police have put up crime scene time blocking out of a perimeter. they've been out here since about 7:30 when the call came in. they say the building was found next to the parking structure and now they're working to determine now the woman died. if you're familiar with the area around dulles station boulevard you know it's a quiet community. >> it's a great community. >> reporter: which is why crime scene tape and investigators are unusual and startling. >> this is kind of scary because it's very quiet. >> reporter: this is a spokeswoman for the fair fax police department who says they discovered a body tuesday morning. >> at this point a death investigation is underway.

it's not clear exactly what happened. >> reporter: she says police are in the early stages of the investigation so they can't confirm if the death was a homicide or a suicide at this point but nevertheless, it's a sight neighbors around here say is certainly unsettling. >> nothing like this ever happens here. >> reporter: we're told detectives are going to be out here investigating for the next couple of hours as they continue to process the crime scene. they're asking anyone who heard or saw anything to contact the fair fax police department. >> thanks so much and the other developing story just hours before police were called to herndon someone else found another body while walking in the woods in mount vernon area. someone found a body near mannor believe. they believe it's a man's body. this case is not related to the one in herndon and at this point

police don't believe the death is suspicious. >> right now it is mostly cloudy. humid. this is the last day of this current heat wave. and the leading edge of some of the dryer air is beginning to push into west virginia. tvs also triggering some showers ahead of that. just a few light showers moving into the shenandoah valley near hagerstown, closer to washington one shower that's a little bit closer to us. it's right now along 66. it's near marshal. that's going to be tracking closer to manassas in about five or ten minutes and in 20 minutes it's in fairfax county. this is a light shower. maybe it will hold together and get closer to the district. that's in another 20 minutes or so. mid to upper 80s with the humidity hanging in. back to you. right now a murder suspect

released by montgomery county judge is finding out if he'll get bond after skipping out on the system last week. he is charged with murdering a man in silver spring last year. he was in jail without bond awaiting trial until a judge let him out wednesday, putting him on home detention and gps monitoring but thursday he never showed up to get the gps put on and then he disappeared until authorities tracked him down friday. he and two others are charged with murdering jonathan harris in his home. the trial is scheduled for december. christen, thank you. we're working to find out whether a broken water main in northeast d.c. has been fixed. the pipe broke yesterday. a small structure earlier this morning the road was closed. the road has since been reopened. >> marked trains on the bruns

wick line are following following a crash. people boarded the train this morning without any problems. they were headed to union station. one marked train had two fewer rail cars and only one conductor which meant larger crowds. we talked to one man who road the train after the crash. >> i caught the last train out and it was almost empty. everyone else had taken the metro. >> investigators still trying to figure out what led to the accident between a marked train and a dump trunk. 620 passengers were on board but no one was hurt. >> later today lawmakers will ask officials about an accident. they want to know what's being done to the electrical issues that caused the smoke incident. yesterday a new fire and rescue

lee ya zon officer was introduced. the military stepping up security in response to last week's shooting in chattanooga, tn. the military says it is increasing recruiting centers but did not say how it will happen. take a look. this video shows volunteers standing in as guards outside centers in alabama and dpa georgia and some are moving to arm national guard recruiters with guns. soon there could be new rules about towing in montgomery county. under a new bill, tow companies would need photo evidence you broke the rules. there would be a single regulated fee to pay if your car is towed and the tow spotters will become illegal. the spotters are the people who patrol the parking lots to pick out cars that can be towed. also hearing about changing how the county distributes alcohol.

a utah state trooper wants you to slow down and move over when you're driving on the highway. a speeding driver spun out of control and slammed into david sheer's. he was conducting a traffic stop at the time and was outside his cruiser. he says he's lucky to be alive. he survived the crash with the broken back and broken legs and several broken ribs. he says he is touched by all the support. >> i'm sore, everywhere, but with the amount of damage that i saw in my own film, i think i'm lucky to be alive. >> he is the seventh trooper hit on the side of the road so far this year. he says he's not sure when he'll be able to go back to work. you step out of the car and before you can turn around, your kids are locked inside. that is what happened near philadelphia.
